Forget who hurt you yesterday, but don’t forget those who love you everday. Forget the past that makes you cry and focus on the present that makes you smile. Forget the pain but never the lessons you gained.
I blinked slowly as the sun hit my face with it’s radiant rays, making my skin heated. I touched my face as I watched the dust dance around my room, the light invade through my curtains , and the smile feet away at the house next door. I jumped out of my bed and greeted the smiling boy by waving crazily at his window. He leaned his head back and laughed which made me laugh as well.
He held up his phone and pointed at it. I turned my head towards my nightstand and watched as my phone screen lit up.
Their whole convo⬇️
I looked up and waved and he waved back then closed his curtains. A giddy laugh escaped through my mouth and I quickly covered it as if someone could possibly hear me.
“Cherri, come downstairs sweetheart...someone came here to see you.”
I rolled my eyes at my mom’s obvious fake tone, I have to admit it was refreshing to hear such a motherly sound come out her devious mouth.
I slipped on a pair of sweatpants over my curious george pj shorts and ran down the stairs barefoot.
I swear if Jace thought it would be cute to stop by regardless of what I said then he should be ready to hear a mouthful from me.
I stopped at the bottom of the stairs as the mystery guess back faced me and continued to have a conversation with my mom. The first thing I realized was the sandy blonde hair and my stomach did backflips and not the good kind. I clutched my stomach and groaned as my mom peeped behind the boy and raised an eyebrow at me.
“Oh she’s here sweetheart.” She patted his shoulder and walked past me to get up the stairs.
“Try to act normal for once and you might find yourself compaitable to another human.”
My head hung low but I could still hear the sarcasm jump off the tip of her tongue and into my ears.
She walked into her room and I shook my head as the door to her and my dad room closed.
I slowly looked up to be meet with the same pair of icy blue eyes that broke me.
A scream started to escape my lips but he was quick to come and cover my mouth.
“Cherri, I didn’t come here to do anything drastic but your going to make me change my mind. Now I’m going to remove my hands from your mouth and your not going to say a damn thing, right?”
I slowly shook my head and he removed his roughly calloused hands from my mouth.
“I always knew you were a good girl, unlike your little friend.”
He was talking about Melody, I don’t know why he didn’t want to say her name, almost like she was burden to him.
“Well why are you here, what do you want?”
He smirked and leaned against the stair railing.
“Mommy dearest decided to move back to California so I’m finishing my senior year at Casanova high.”
I almost puked at having to possibly see him everyday at school.
“That doesn’t answer what you want Colby, so I’m going to ask you again, what do you want?”
He backed away towards the door “We have the rest of the year Cherlyn, I’m sure your going to find out.”
He opened the door and saw himself out. I quickly rushed to the door and locked it as if the devil was going to storm in but that was impossible.
The devil just walked out
