Chapter 24

Nobody ever taught me to forgive cause their actions helped me learn that forgiveness can never be taught.

Jace Hindrix

The look Melody was receiving from Cherri turned her about as red as my bowl of strawberries that laid on the cafeteria table.

I’m not sure what happened between the two. At first they are at each other throats and then they are best friends. I’m pretty sure I wasn’t the only one who noticed the mood swings between the two but I’m sure nobody wasn’t going to speak on it.

“So are we going to do something after school today or not.” Ryan curiously looked at everyone at the table but nobody said a word.

My phone vibrated on the table and I quickly picked it up and read the text on the front screen.

(Dylan) so what happened btwn them 2?

I looked up and locked eyes with Dylan then shrugged my shoulders.

I wasn’t really sure what was wrong with them but I did know that Colby boy had something to do with it.

“Cherri why are you staring at me like that...please tell me what I did wrong?”

Melody held her head back and sighed before lifting it back up and looking at Cherri with pleading eyes.

“Oh you can cut the innocent bullshit you got going on you slut.”

My eyes, along with everyone elses grew wide at the choice of words that came out Cherri’s mouth.

“What the fuck are you talking about Cherri?”

Cherri stood up from her chair and grabbed that ratty satchel she carried around everywhere with her.

“You screwed Colby behind my back, multiple times. You were suppose to be my friend you asshole.”

Melody gasped and covered her mouth with her hands.

“I’m so sorry Cherri but I swear it was nothing like that.”

Alexus propped her foot on the table and scoffed. “Bitch you not sorry.”

Gigi slapped her on the back and Alexus glared at her.

Melody rolled her eyes at Alexus and scooted back in her seat.

“Ooooo she quiet now.” Alexus egged on as she bit into a single fry.

Cherri tapped her foot impatiently then looked at me.

“I think i’m ready to blow this Popsicle stand Hindrix, you coming?”

I smirked and gathered my stuff. “I guess since I’m the one with the car.”

She laughed and punched my shoulder ever so lightly.

“Trust, I don’t mind walking.”

She took one more look at Melody. “After you give me the package and we do this shit for Colby, I want nothing to do with your sorry ass.”

She grabbed my arm and we walked away from the table.

“CHERRI, YOU HAVE TO STOP LIVING IN THE PAST!” Melody yelled after her causing the whole cafeteria to look at Melody and everyone at the table.

Cherri stopped for a moment and chuckled then continued to walk out the cafeteria hand in hand with me.
