Chapter 32

Sometimes our emotions can speak for us, before our brain can process it, and sometimes that can be a big mistake

Jace Hindrix

The fact that Cherri didn’t even freak when this dude touched her bothered me.

The fact that both her and Melody gushed over him for hours bothered me.

I wanted to grab the dude by his stupid surfers haircut and throw him out but I know that wouldn’t help.

“So Connor, how are your parents?” Cherri asked as she grabbed both of his hands and gave him her full attention.

Something I haven’t been able to grasp for the past hour.

“Oh, they are just fine, they would be really happy to see you.”

I almost barfed at the way he looked at her.

“Jace come sit down, I want you to meet Connor.”

Gigi came up behind me and gagged.

“I want you to meet Connor” She mimicked in a squeaky voice.

“I stifled a laugh. “Chill out Gigi, She hasn’t seen him in a long time.

“She stuffed her hands in her pockets. “So you know him?”

I shook my head and sighed. “No, Never heard of him before, but thanks for bringing him here or whatever.”

Gigi punched my shoulder. “I meet him at Colby’s party and thought he could actually be interested in me, but once again, Cherri snatches all the hot ones.”

She shrugged her shoulders and walked out on the patio.

I was about to walk out and join her but Cherri pulled me down beside her.

“Jace, why don’t you get to know Connor.”

My eyes twitched at the mention of his name but I smiled nevertheless.

“Hi Connor, nice to meet you.”

Connor chuckled and shook his head at me. “There’s no need to be jealous lover boy, me and Cherri are nothing but long lost friends.”

Oh so that explains why she lets him touch her.

No. No it doesn’t because I know that Melody and Cherri been friends forever and she doesn’t let her touch her.

But then again Melody just had her hands on Cherri’s shoulder for a good minute and she didn’t budge.

Is Cherri coming over her phobia?

I grunted and got out of my seat in a quick hurry. I was done being in this room with these two.

“Where are you going Jace?” She grabbed my arm and I snatched it out of her grasp harshly.

“Don’t worry about it.” I spat through my teeth.

My actions seemed to affect Cherri as she drew her hand back with a puzzled expression on her face.

I walked out on the patio before her or that douche could say anything, before I could do anything that I would later regret.

“Trouble in paradise?”

Gigi unfolded her long tan legs from under her and raised one perfectly arched brow at me as I sat down beside her.

I don’t know how girls do it these day.

“No one ever said it was paradise Gigi.”

She nodded her head as she looked out on the beach.

“Even though you say it’s not paradise, it’s bliss Jace. I’ve seen the way you two look at each other and I wish that one day I could have that too.”

Gigi looked so vulnerable underneath the setting sun and I couldn’t help but feel bad for her.

I grabbed her shoulder, making her turn her attention towards me. “Hey, your a wonderful girl and I’m sure some idiot out there is going to realize that too.”

Gigi bit her lip at me before turning away towards the beach again.

“I really hope so.”

She leaned her head on my shoulder and sighed.

“Cherri doesn’t know how lucky she is.”

I looked down at her as she looked up, making our eyes meet.

Gigi craned her neck and leaned in, sealing a quick kiss on my lips.

My eyes got big as she pulled away shocked.

“I’m so-”

I grabbed her face and forcefully kissed her back as she climbed on my lap.

We were a hot tangle of emotions and sloppy kisses.

“Oh my gosh.” Gigi wiped her mouth and climbed off my lap.

I straightened my shirt and stood up abruptly.

“I don’t know what came over me Gigi, I’m sorry.”

Her eyes never left the ocean and she never replied to me.

I can’t believe that I actually did that with someone other than Cherri.

We haven’t even been dating for a full week and I already committed a sin.

I turned around but stopped to stare at the figure that stood in the door frame.

“Shit, how much did you see?”

I could feel Gigi’s presence behind me as my body shook with anticipation.

“I saw everything between you two assholes, Jace how could you?”

(Hey babies....comment on what you think will happen next and if you think what Jace did was totally in the wrong or just a moment)
