Chapter 34

Just remember that we all have little dirty secrets within us

Cherri Johnson

He was avoiding me like I was the plague, some contagious disgusted disease that could send him away like the Ebola outbreak.

While the others went outside and roamed around on the beach, I stayed inside like a loner not even wanting to talk to Connor.

A soft knock was heard from outside my door and the one and only Jace popped his head in my door smiling that oh so gorgeous smile.

“Can I borrow you for a second honey?”

Stubbornly, I cross my arms over my chest.

“I don’t know can you?”

He raised his eyebrows but after seeing I wasn’t backing down, he sighed.

“I’m sorry Cherri, it’s just that I have a lot on my plate.”

I threw my hands in the air. “You should be able to confine in me Jace, I am your girlfriend you bozo.”

He walked over to my bed ad sat down on the edge.

“I know Cherri but I fucked up, big time .”

I glanced over his face to see worry sketched all over it. Whatever he did was affecring him and I’m not sure if I want to know what it is.

“Well if it’s bothering you that bad, then tell me, let it out Jace. I’m always here to listen babe.”

I gently presed my hands on his shoulder and he tensed up.

“Then let’s get away from here and ride back into town together.

I gave him a questioning look as I contemplated on going or not.

“Why would you want to leave this beautiful place just to go back into town. All your friemds are here and we finally get to be alone.”

He smiled and shook his head.

“I know Sugar but I want you to meet someone special to me.”

I cocked my head to the side, still not getting why we had to leave this place so soon. We still had a whole day left, not including today.

“Why can’t we wait til we get back.” I asked.

The color seemed to drain from his face as if I said something completely wrong.

He dragged his hands across his face and mumbled under his breath.

“Please Cherri, There’s a lot I want to tell you and someone I want you to meet. I have to do this today Cherri.”

He stood up from the bed and held his hand out to me.

“You’ll understand later but I need to do this and I need you by my side to do it.”

I placed my hand in his and he pulled me up into his embrace.

“I’m going to make things right baby, even if it means losing you.”

He whispered the last part but not quiet enough for me to miss it.

He was scaring me but by the look on his face, leaving seemed really important so I guess that’s what I have to do.

“Well are you going to let me go so I can pack?”

I expect a smart remark from him but he released me instead.

“Sure thing, Come find me out in the front when your done.”

I nodded my head and he placed a kiss right on my temple, leaving a burning sensation in the pit of my stomach.

**

As we drove along the road in silence, I coudn’t stop thinking about how he acted earlier.

I didn’t even get a chance to say goodbye as he threw my luggae in the car and urged me to hurry and get in.

I could see Alex glaring at him from the kitchen window and I had the sudden feeling that she had something to do with this.

I furiously tapped my index finger on the side door, waiting for this awkward ride to be over with.

I began to get somewhat happy as I started to recognize the buildings that are town consumed.

“So are we going to the neighborhood now or not?”

His hand seemed to tighten on the steering wheel as he looked straightforward.

“I’ll drop you off home after you meet someone.”

I leaned back in the car seat and sighed.
Thus mystery guess was giving me creeps. I wish he would go ahead and tell me.

“Jace, if you’re getting tired of me then that’s all you have to say but killing me and dumping my body out in the woods won’t solve anything.”

I could see him relax as a chuckle escaped his lips. Then soon a whole fit of laughs came out of his mouth as he tried to control himself.

“You and that imaginantion of yours babe.”

I kissed my teeth as I looked out the window and saw that we were at a hospital.

“Jace what’s going on?”

He didn’t answer me as he parked the car near the front entrance and got out.
I got out as well and followed him inside, feeling queasy and nauseous due to the overuse of lysol and bleach.

He didn’t even stop at the front desk when we entered, he just nodded to the woman and went towards the elevators.

“I swear I’ll scream if you don’t start talking Jace Micheal Hindrix.”

He pressed the 3rd button as people filed in the small box.

“I already told you what’s going on.”

My breath got caught in my throat as the elevator rose, making my stomach drop. We came to the third floor and exited the tiny death pully.

“Well you didn’t explain well enough Jace.”

He continued to walk as I followed until he suddenly stopped in front of the door.
The plate read room 375.

“Your going to learn about someone nobody knows of Sugar, not even the gang knows them. ”

I nodded my head as I tried to peep through the little window. I sighed as Jace tall frame blocked me from doing so.

I might end up going to jail for murder if Jace’s ex lover who somehow just miraculously woke up from a coma is in there.

Just saying.
