Chapter 11

We step across the threshold of Spence’s, and soon to be mine as well, bedroom. I wander over to my usual side of the bed, and switch on the lamp, casting a warm glow over the spacious room. Spence is on the other side and has already removed his shoes and suit jacket and is now pulling off his tie. I smile and go over to him. He smiles back at me as he reaches for the top button of his shirt. I run my hands up his chest and brush away his fingers; I want to be the one to unwrap him.

He places his hands on my hips as I start slowly and carefully unbuttoning his shirt, and once I’ve reached the last one, I pull his shirt from his pants. He then holds out his wrists to me so that I can unclasp his cuff links. I take them off, and then reach over and place them on his end table.

I return to my task of undressing him, and push his shirt off his broad shoulders, running my hands down his muscular arms as I go along. Spence doesn’t make a move to interrupt me, so I keep going. I reach for his belt, unclasp it, and then slide it free, the movement causing his pelvis to thrust forward a little, and I look down to see him already straining against his pants. I smile and undo his button, then his zipper, my movements becoming a little more hurried now, feeling eager to see and touch all of him. I push his pants down his hips, and they pool around his ankles.

I step back, put a finger to my chin, and examine him with a wide grin on my face. Spence is just in his underwear, with his pants around his ankles.

“Like what you see, sweetheart?” he asks me, chucking lightly.

He then puts his hands on his hips and strikes a superman pose, causing me to laugh out loud.

“I love what I see,” I answer him, and he releases his full power smile.

“Now it’s my turn,” he says, biting his lower lip, and kicking his pants to the side.

“As you wish Mr. Manfredi,” I giggle.

Spence steps towards me and runs his hands down my arms, and then he holds my wrists and pulls my arms straight up. He then reaches back down and grabs the hem of my shirt and pulls it slowly over my head, then tosses it on a nearby chair. I lower my arms, and Spence walks around me so that he’s standing behind me. I feel him gather my hair and pull it aside before he leans in and plants light kisses on the back of my neck, causing me to shiver, and heating my blood at the same time.

Spence unhooks my bra, then he slides the straps down my shoulders, and I pull it off and toss it away. Spence’s fingers trail along my back, and then he reaches around me to cup my breasts, pressing his warm chest against my back, and pressing his erection into my backside.

I close my eyes, and lean my head against his chest as he tugs and teases my nipples with his fingers, and kisses my shoulder. His hands travel from my breasts, down across my belly, until they reach the top of my jeans. He tugs the button free, pulls down the zipper, then back to the waistband. He pushes them down slowly over my hips, and then he crouches down and pulls them down my legs. I step out of them as he trails soft kisses up the back of my legs. He stands up straight again, now both of us are naked except for our underwear.

“Oh my future wife, you are so beautiful,” he murmurs quietly into my hair.

I reach my arms up behind me and clasp them behind his head. Spence reaches around and grasps my chin, and turns my head to the side to look at him. His gorgeous hazel eyes are filled with desire and love. Love for me.

How did I become so lucky to have this man fall for little ol’ me? I never could have imagined this becoming my life. A year ago, if someone had said that I was going to marry him, I would have laughed in his or her face at the absurdity of such an idea.

Spence dips his head and touches his lips to mine, and I lean up into it, wanting more, wanting to taste him. His lips coax my mouth open, and his tongue meets mine. I moan into his mouth and suck on his tongue, his kiss causing my lips to tingle and ache for more pressure. He holds me flush against him, and his hands roam my chest, and I push my backside into him.

Spence then slides a hand from my chest and down towards my aching sex. He strokes me over my now damp underwear, then he pulls them aside for more access. My knees almost buckle as he dips a finger inside of me, but he holds me up with his other arm, his mouth never leaving mine. My hips start gyrating against his hand, and I push my butt into him even harder.

“Spence, make love to me,” I pant against his lips.

He releases me from his hold and quickly comes to stand in front of me. He puts his hands on either side of my neck and starts kissing me again, but angles me until I feel the bed against the back of my legs. Our lips separate for only a moment as I fall back onto the bed, and Spence follows me down. I shuffle myself up the bed, and he reaches for my panties and pulls them down my legs, then hurriedly pulls off his own underwear, before crawling back up the bed so that he’s on top of me. I wrap my arms around his neck and pull him down to kiss me again. I can feel his cock rubbing against my entrance, but he doesn’t enter me yet. Instead, he just rubs himself back and forth against me, teasing me with it.

“Mmm Spence, please,” I whine.

“Do you want me inside you baby?” he murmurs, dipping just the tip inside of me then pulling it out again.

“Yes!” I nearly sob; I want him so bad it nearly hurts.

“It can be like this forever you know,” he says, dipping the tip in again, and I try to raise my hips to meet him, but his weight holds me down, “Is this what you want?”

“Yes, Spence, yes!” I cry, and with that, he finally thrusts into me completely, filling me.

He starts moving in and out, slowly, but deeply, the feeling is heaven. I reach my hands down to grasp his firm ass and pull him against me. He starts to pick up the pace slightly, but it’s still not fast enough.

“Faster Spence,” I gasp, and he complies, pounding into me like there is no tomorrow until suddenly he flips me over and I’m now on top of him.

“Fuck me,” he grunts, grasping my hips and moving me forward and backward against him.

He lifts his pelvis so that it rubs against my clit, in just the right way, sending signals to my core, sparking the fire. I can feel the pressure building up inside of me already, and I place my hands on his chest to steady myself as I ride him. My moans becoming louder as I feel myself coming to a peak.

“Oh, oh! Right there Spence, right there!” I call out as the orgasm rips through my body.

He keeps up his rhythm, not changing anything while I ride the waves of pleasure until his body starts to go rigid, and he can’t take anymore. His head lifts off the pillow, and his eyes squeeze shut as he too is consumed by a powerful orgasm. His body shudders as he pours himself into me, and then he slumps back into the pillow, and I collapse onto his chest, panting hard.

“I could live with that for the rest of my life,” I giggle against his chest.

“Me too,” he chuckles.

“I love you, Spence,” I sigh, planting kisses on his slightly sweaty chest.

He still tastes and smells fantastic.

“I love you too Roxanne,” he says quietly, wrapping his arms around me and hugging me tightly to him, “and I don’t plan on ever letting you go just, so you know.”

“Fine by me,” I breathe, inhaling him again.

“Are you sure?” he asks so quietly, it’s almost a whisper.

I look up into his probing eyes, and he stares down at me, searching my face.

“Why do you ask that, Spence? Of course, I’m sure,” I answer him, reaching up and running a finger along his jawline.

“I’m just checking, that’s all,” he replies simply, and he grabs my fingers and pulls them to his mouth.

I guess he’s still not feeling sure about our conversation earlier, and that makes me feel bad. I love this man, and I want to marry him. So I have had my worries, but doesn’t everyone?

“Spence, I love you. I love you more than I’ve ever loved anybody, and I can’t wait to become your wife. You make me feel so happy and so safe, and so loved that sometimes I wonder what I could have done to deserve a man like you. I’m a very lucky woman,” I declare.

Spence shifts, so that we are now lying on our sides, face to face.

“Roxanne, you make me happier than anyone ever has, and I love you more than I have ever loved anyone as well, and sometimes it scares me to think that I could lose you.”

“Why do you think you could lose me?” I ask him, my heart rate picking up a little.

“Roxanne, I saw the way that Seth still looks at you, I’m not blind. And I know that his sudden reappearance in our lives has affected you, at least a little bit. I know you two didn’t part in the best way, but he could have picked up that phone, anytime he wanted to, so he missed his chance. I’m the one who loves you the most Roxanne, I hope you know that.”

Wow! So Spence had picked up on way more than I thought he had.

“I don’t know what to say,” I say to him.

“Just promise me Rox, promise me that you won’t let him come between us. I have this nagging feeling that he’s going to try, no matter what he tries to tell me about that not being the case. In fact, I have the sneaking suspicion that his apology to me on the yacht, was just a ploy so that he could get closer to you, as I said, I’m not stupid. There’s no way in hell he would change his mind about being okay about our engagement so quickly.”

Spence is very astute, and he basically hits the bulls-eye on that one.

“I keep my friends close, and my enemies closer,” he adds.

“Well, I doubt that Seth is an enemy,” I reply and then wish I hadn’t. Spence props himself up on his elbow and looks down at me, expression serious.

“Anyone trying to steal my love out from under me is most definitely an enemy, Roxanne.”

“Well, regardless, you have nothing to worry about, okay?” I tell him. Spence sighs heavily and falls back into his pillow.

“I sure hope not.”

“What do I have to do to convince you?” I say, propping myself up on my elbow and leaning over him.

He meets my gaze and searches my face, his brows furrowing ever so slightly.

“Roxanne, I don’t want you to feel like you have to convince me of anything.”

“Yeah but, you’re obviously worried about it, and I want you to know, without a doubt, that Seth isn’t going to come between us.”

“How about I just take your word for it,” he acquiesces.

“Okay, good.”

I smile down at him and plant a small kiss on his lips, and I fully plan on keeping that trust. I’m done with being confused, I’ve made my choice, and I fully intend on sticking with it. Spence will be my husband, and I will be his wife, and nobody is going to stop that from happening.

“Now that is all cleared up, how about another round?” I suggest planting kisses on Spence’s chest.

“Already?” he chuckles, repeating my own words from earlier.

“Why not? I thought you were really gonna let me have it?” I tease.

“And have it you shall,” he growls playfully, sitting up abruptly, and pouncing on me, all worry forgotten for now.

The next day at work, I’m feeling anxious but excited to see Casey. Concerned because it might be a total disaster, but excited because this may be my chance to get my best friend back. I must be extra distracted because I suddenly become aware of Chris waving a hand in front of my face.

“Hello? Earth to Rox,” he calls.

I jump and turn my face to look at him.

“Where were you?” he asks curiously, “you were miles away.”

“I’m meeting up with Casey tonight after work,” I tell him, and his eyebrows go up in surprise.

“Wow, so she finally agreed to see you?”

“Yes, finally. I’m so nervous, I have no idea how it’s going to go down.”

“I’m sure everything will be fine Rox. You two will get through this, I can feel it. You’ve been through a lot together, she’ll forgive you.”

“Thanks, Chris, I appreciate your optimism.”

“What are best friends for?” he smiles and then changes the subject. “Lena told me about her run-in with Spence yesterday,” he laughs.

“She was mortified. Spence really wishes she’d relax around him.”

“Yeah, she said she’s going to really try.”

“She just needs to spend more time around him, that’s all. He’s so busy most of the time but when we all have time off, we need to hang out,” I muse.

“Yeah, the busy life of a billionaire, I know,” Chris chuckles.

“I think he’s going to try to make some more time available now though since he wants to help with the wedding stuff,” I say.

“Oh, so he’s going to be a hands-on groom? I figured you two would have a full crew to do it all for you.”

“Oh, we probably will, but we need to make sure they don’t get out of hand and turn it into a whole big thing that we don’t want,” I tell him, “I’m actually going to meet up with Frankie’s boyfriend who happens to be a wedding planner.”

“If he’s any good, let me know, because if I’m lucky to get engaged this weekend, maybe we could hire him as well.”

“Oh, I know for certain that you’ll be engaged this weekend, Chris,” I smile at him, and he smiles his shy smile.

“I appreciate your optimism as well, Rox. Look at us, all grown up, getting engaged, and what not. Who knew one year ago, that this is where we’d be…all because of this place,” Chris says, holding his hands out and waving them around, gesturing to our surroundings, “If it hadn’t been for Spence in the first place, I would have never met the love of my life. And who would have thought that you’d be marrying him now? Life is truly crazy, sometimes. You never know where it’s going to take you.”
