Chapter 1

Alexandra
There is only so much a person can take, before they finally decide to give up. It's when people decide its enough. When they come to realize they can't. But right now, I was not to give up. Not when everything felt so perfect for the first time in forever. Not when the snow was falling from the sky and sticking to my hair. Not when the snow was crunching under my black Uggs.

Now I had to find more than one reason. Maybe my family, but we never really see each other. My dad was out working all the time. My brother was going to college, so I was left alone. Friends? I had two: Melanie and Theo. They were like family to me. Always at my house. Or we met up at one of theirs.

My mind drew back to reality as I heard the bushes beside me move. My body froze in terror; my eyes scanned the big black wolf that strode over to me. My brain was telling me to run and scream bloody murder; but my body wouldn't cooperate. I fell on to my knees as he came closer. The snow soaked my leggings as I kept my eyes on the wild beast.

My hand extended to draw him closer. His large paws crunched the snow as he walked over, taking a seat in front of me. I slowly slid my fingers through his silky soft fur. My eyes met his only to realize they were a golden honey. I let out a breath I didn't even know I was holding. I cupped his face kissing his forehead. He shoved his face into my chest making me squeal. He jumped back in shock causing me to giggle. I wrapped my arms around the beasts neck in a hugging manner.

"You're so beautiful." I whispered. His eyes darted around the forest. I noticed a small tattoo on his left ear. It was a silver full moon. I ran my thumb over over. My hand fell into my lap.

"What should I call you?" I tilted my head to the side looking him over. His eyes met mine for a split second before he looked away again.

"What about Grey?" I ruffled his fur. He licked my hand and I took that as a yes. I sighed looking up. The snow kept falling, melting on my face. The wind picked up speed causing a slight shiver to make its way through my body.

"I wish you could talk." I whispered over to him.He whimpered nudging his face into my stomach. I squealed which caused him to jolt back in surprise. I laughed kissing his nose.

"If only." I pouted with a sigh.
