Chapter 16

Alexandra
I scanned the halls for a six foot tall male, but he was no where to be found. I ave up pressing my back against the cold lockers. The wind brushed my hair into my face, sending a shiver down my spine. I could see the goosebumps forming on my arms. Hoping to absorb a little bit of heat, I crossed my arms over my chest. The wind still picked up.
"Alex!" The shivers gave it away. Ashton was jogging over with a bright smile. I smiled, pushing my body off of the lockers.
"Ashton." I greeted.
"What did you want to talk to me about?" This morning I had texted him, telling him I needed to speak with him. That it was urgent. My cheeks betrayed me, flushing at the thought of actually telling him what I wanted.
Should I really tell him? I really wanted this, but then I didn't. If I never spoke up he would never know. I had to get this over with. I was going to tell him. That was final.
"I uh," The look on his face made my heart swell. He looked so scared, but yet so excited. The poor wolf had nothing to be afraid of. For him, me even, this was good news. I wasn't pregnant. I really wasn't ready to bare any children. Daniel would have my head if I got pregnant right now. I couldn't even begin to imagine what he would do. Daniel was worse than my father.
"Ashton," My heart was stuttering. I had no idea what made me think I could do this, but there was no backing out now. I was almost there.
"Yes, my love." His smile was sweet, and patient. Yet, his eyes told me a whole other story. He was like an open book.
"Ashton, I want you to mark me." My eye brows furrowed. I looked up at him, afraid he would quickly shoot down the idea. I mean, we weren't even dating and I wanted to be marked.
His eyes slightly glazed over, deep in thought. I had no idea what he was thinking. I made a mistake. I really made it awkward now. I ruined this. I ruined us.
"Never mind." I shook my head. The words pulled him out of his trance. He grasped my hands in his, holding them to his chest. I could feel his heart racing under my finger tips.
"I'd love to." He smiled. "Just tell me when, and where."
Ashton lowered his head so that his face was in the crook of my neck. My lungs refused oxygen as his lips pressed to the spot where my neck and shoulder met. I bit my lip, attempting to keep my composure. He pulled away, leaving me dazed. He chuckled stepping back. My eyes met his as I balled my fists at my sides.
"See you later princess." He winked and made his way to his first class of the day. My lungs contracted allowing a big gulp of oxygen to pass through.

The day had gone by fairly quick. I had just put my books in my locker and shut the door. Ashton stood on the other side of the door, giving me a heart attack. I squealed, jumping back. My fist made contact with his chest.
"Ouch, right in the heart." He feigned hurt. I rolled my eyes at him. His only response was a laugh and a kiss to my knuckles. He followed me out to my car. Ashton pulled the driver's door open granting me access into my own car. He leaned against the door staring at me like the creep he was.
"I have something for you. It's at home though." My heart flipped at the thought. Ashton got into his brand new matte black 2017 Lamborghini Aventador. It had resembled the one in Batman. I gaped at his choice of car. That car must've cost easily over three hundred thousand. He was seriously spoiled. I followed him home.
I hopped out of my car and made my way over to him. He pressed a button on his car keys. I watched the garage door open. A huge teddy bear sat in the middle of the garage. My eyes widened at the sight. A bouquet of flowers sat on the bears leg. I really hoped this wasn't for me.
I couldn't accept this. He was wasting money on teddy bear's and flowers. This was not okay. It was too much. How do you pay someone back when you can't even afford a burger? I wanted to do something nice for him. It was my turn to spoil him.
"Ash-"
"Before you say anything, you have to take it. I don't care. I'm not leaving any room for arguments." I had always wanted a giant bear. How he knew would remain a mystery.
All I could do was jump into his arms and kiss his lips. My actions were sudden. I retracted out of shock. Ashton pulled me back and pressed his lips to mine. His giant hands cupped my face. My hands rested around his wrists.
I knew my heart had stopped. There was no going back.
