Chapter 14 ~ Trike

Trike was immediately concerned, when Steele mentioned there was blood on Misty’s sweater. He spun her around so he could see. Sure enough, her light blue sweater had a couple drops of blood on it, up high on the sleeve. He held her hand, as he carefully pushed the sweater off her shoulder.

He cursed when he saw the hand print, and what he was sure were fingernail holes in her arm. Luckily, Misty didn’t fight him, as he got a good look at the marks.

“Those really need to be cleaned and bandaged”, Steele told him.

Trike thought the same thing, but he wanted to know how she got them first. “What happened honey”, he asked her.

“I told you, me and Carly got in an argument”, she sighed. “When I turned to walk away, I tripped. Carly caught me, but she must have grabbed me too tightly.”

Trike knew instantly that she was lying. He looked to his brothers, and could tell they felt the same way.

“Okay”, he told her. “I have a first aid kit in my bathroom, I’ll take you there and clean you up.”

Then he slowly picked her up, not wanting to startle her. She wrapped her arms around his neck, and settled in. Trike loved that, and gave her a quick kiss on the head, then he turned and headed for the clubhouse. He nodded his thanks to Navaho, as he opened the door for them. Once inside, he moved down the hall to his room. He looked at the door, and started to shift Misty, but again Navaho was there opening the door for him.

“Jesus brother”, he said in surprise. “You’re like a god damned ghost. I didn’t even hear you following us.”

Navaho just smiled, then turned and walked away. Trike shook his head, then moved into the room. He carried his pretty little blind girl into the bathroom, and set her on the counter. Then, he pushed her sweater further down her arm, so it was out of the way.

He opened a cupboard, got the first aid kit, and set it on the counter beside her. The first thing he did was grab an antiseptic wipe and clean the cut and the dried blood around it. The cuts were small, and there were clearly five nail holes. He put ointment on them, then grabbed the gauze and wrapped up her arm.

He explained what he was doing the whole time, he didn’t want her surprised by anything he did. When he was done, he told her he wrapped her arm because five bandages would look ridiculous.

Trike liked having her in his room, and rather than take her home, he asked her to stay. He really wanted her to sleep in his arms tonight. She seemed really hesitant at first, until he told her nothing would happen. He wanted her comfortable with him first.

She completely surprised him when she agreed. Happily, he grabbed her a clean toothbrush, and told her where to find everything. Then, he took off his t-shirt and laid it on the counter, telling her she could wear it to bed. As he closed the door, she smiled at him, and he felt like he was on top of the world.

He quickly undressed, leaving only his boxers on, and sat on the side of the bed to wait for her. About five minutes later she came out. He jumped up, and moved towards her, taking her hand and leading her back to the bed. Once she was safely in, he climbed in beside her, and pulled her close. She curled her tiny body into his side, and laid her hand on his chest.

“This is the first time I’ve ever slept in the same bed as someone”, she quietly admitted.

Trike beamed at her confession. “Well”, he told her. “The way this is going, I’m pretty sure there’s going to be a lot more nights like this one.”

Then he tilted her head, giving her a slow, deep kiss. When he pulled away, he smirked at the dazed expression on her face. When she put her head back on his shoulder, it only took a minute for her to fall asleep. Trike watched her sleep for a while, then he too finally closed his eyes and fell asleep. But, he did it was a smile on his face.
