Chapter 7 - Jude
Jude stared at the pretty little klutz lying naked on the floor. Unfortunately, the plastic shower curtain covered most of her body, but the sight of her still took his breath away. She was fucking beautiful. He almost chuckled as she tried to get up, but was hampered by the curtain. Somehow he didn’t think she’d appreciate his laughter right now.
Then his attention turned to a spot on her forehead, where blood was slowly dripping. “You’re fucking bleeding,” he roared, as he crouched down and moved towards her.
May shrieked and tried to cover herself, as she held up her hand to stop him. “Don’t you dare come any closer,” she ordered.
But he just scowled at her and knocked her hand out of the way. When he got close, he swiped the towel off the counter and covered her, shower curtain and all. Then he grabbed a washcloth and leaned over her so he could get a better look. The first thing he noticed was how she shivered as she stared up at him.
“You afraid of me little klutz?” Jude questioned gently, as he brushed the hair away from the cut.
Her back straightened, and she looked away from him. “No,” she stammered. “I’m cold. A soak in some icy water will do that.”
Jude smirked at her. “Right,” he stated. When he leaned closer, he realized the cut was pretty deep. He placed the washcloth against it as gently as he could, but she still cried out.
“Sorry,” he apologized. “The first thing we need to do is get you off this god damned floor,” he told her. “You hold on to that towel while I stand you up,” he instructed. Then he placed his hands under her arms and hefted her up. She squealed, as she tried to hold on to the towel. As soon as she was on her feet, the curtain dropped to the ground.
“Thank you,” May sighed as she took a deep breath to calm herself. Then he watched in disappointment as she pulled the towel tighter against her.
“You need stitches,” Jude growled.
May shook her head stubbornly. “I’ll be fine,” she quietly decided. “Iodine and a bandage and I’ll be good as new. Now thank you for your help, but I need you to leave so I can get dressed.”
Jude smirked at her, as he looked down at the skin not covered by the towel. “Please don’t get dressed on my account,” he teased her. “I think you should wear a towel all the time.”
She glared at him as she shoved him roughly out the bathroom door. Once he was on the other side, the lock clicked. He chuckled at the closed door, but she must have heard him.
“Fuck off Lucy,” was yelled from inside. He instantly stopped laughing and growled at the door in frustration. Turning, he made his way to the living room and sat on the couch. He pulled out his cell and scrolled through his contacts until he found the name he was looking for. Then he hit a button to connect the call.
“Sniper,” Jude greeted after the man answered. “I know it’s late, but would Doc be up?” he asked.
“He sure is, you okay?” the biker questioned in return.
“It’s not for me,” Jude explained. “My neighbour fell and hit her forehead pretty good. The cuts deep, and she needs a couple stitches.”
Sniper chuckled. “Oh, you mean the klutz. Navaho told us about the two of you watching her move in.”
Jude hung his head. “That’s the one,” he admitted.
“Kind of late to be over there,” the noisy fucker pushed.
“She screamed when she fell, and I heard her. Broke the door down and found her bleeding on the floor,” Jude admitted.
Sniper’s voice instantly changed. “Right, me and Raid will come too. We’ll get the door fixed,” he promised.
“Appreciated,” Jude replied as he hung up. Now all he had to do was wait for May to come out of the bathroom and then deal with the fallout when the three big bikers showed at her door.
