Mr. West loosened his tie as he made his way down to the sub-level of the building from his night club in London. He walked through the lighted tunnels irritated that his prize still wasn’t in his hands, and wanted to see if one girl was the reason why.
He turned the corner to see the door that would lead to having all his questions answered, or he was going to have to play hard ball. When he walked into the room, it was dark, and in the corner rocking back and forth, was the person who brought him down into this hell hole.
“Hello Augustine. Are you awake yet?” He chuckled.
Aggie’s head lifted like she had just been awakened from a deep dream. Her hands went to her face flinching from the damage to her finger tips. “What do you want now?” She whispered as her hands fell.
“There have been rumors about your ramblings lately, something about your mother ruling two worlds. But in my past visits you haven’t told me anything about this revelation. So my question is, what are you hiding from me?” He asked pulling a chair over to where she sat on the floor.
Irvington had been coming in for months, asking her questions, making her give him answers. But when she was alone, she can barely remember anything at all, let alone what she sees... that’s why she has Nikon, Matthew, and David. “I don’t know what your talking about, you know I don’t.” She hissed.
He reached down taking her hand in his and pulling it up so he could get a better look. “I see you’ve been digging at the floor again.” He smirked, then ripped off a scab from her finger tip. “That looks like it hurts, dear.” He tisked.
Aggie bit her lip as a tear rolled down her cheek. “You can do what ever you want to me Irvington, but I can’t give you what I don’t know.” She growled.
“You will tell me the meanings of your visions, and if they are not to my benefit...Nikon will be the one to pay the ultimate price until you put your mother in my hands!” He seethed crushing her fingers in his grip.
Aggie held in the scream of pain in her throat until Irvington dropped her hand. She pulled it to her chest and held it tightly praying that she knew what to do or say to keep Nikon and her mother safe! “I don’t know what you’re talking about? How many times do I have to tell you that!?” She screamed.
“Don’t play games with me little girl. Now you will tell me what I want or I will have Nikon destroyed with one text.” He warnd as his cool demeanor slipped exposing the real monster that was inside. He held up the phone showing her two words, destroy him...
Her eyes met his, and she knew he wasn’t kidding. He was going to kill Nikon if she didn’t give him something. “I don’t remember Irvington, I don’t remember anything! I really don’t… I swear!” She now hollered in a panic clinging to his pant leg.
He saw the sheer panic that she couldn’t give him what he wanted, and smiled. He thought that Nikon might still be of some use to him... “If you can’t remember what two worlds Molly will be the queen of, then tell me how to get her right now Augustine. And I mean right now, not a year from now not a month from now, right fucking now!”
Aggie’s hands covered her face feeling her dirty skin and grungy hair. “There’s something blocking my sight.” She declared with a shake of her head. “It’s like I’m at a fork in the road and someone is waiting for a decision to be made.”
He stood up kicking the chair out from underneath him that crashed into the wall as he hovered over her small thin frame on the floor. “What decision? That’s what I fucking want to know!” He growled, his patience waning.
Aggie took a deep breath as her fear for Nikon took root, she had to give Irvington something, but what? In the midst of her panic, her mind cleared giving her a moment of clarity... there were two straight lines that ran parallel to one another, and she followed them until they split and went in opposite directions. She stood looking in both directions and decided to follow the path going to the right.
It started out smooth, easy, and flowing, but then the further down she got, it started to twist and buckle, like the world was being ripped apart. This was the path to the death of the world.. when her sight ran her down the struggling line, it seemed go on forever.
She went back and started down the path on the left and this path started right away to twist and turn, but even though the path was not easy, it eventually smoothed out. The world had some scars, but life would go on, and the good still remained.
When she looked back over the two paths she tried to find why they varied so much and why there was two of them in the first place... and then it hit her. It was her decision that had to be made, she was the one to set the course.
With a deep breath she followed the tortured path that lead to the end of everything back to the beginning. That’s when she saw her mother was free of Irvington. So when she glanced down the path she knew the world had to be set on... she gasped. Her mother had to fall into Irvington’s hands, and that meant she was the one who would betray her mother.
Next she saw a vampire, and how Irvington's meeting with him was going to set everything in motion. Tears started to roll down Aggie’s face as she glanced up at the monster who would have her mother soon.
“Tell me, what did you see?” He chuckled but Aggie was silent. So he snatched her up by the arm ready to break it if he had to...“Tell me now!” He seethed.
“You are to meet with a vampire today, right?” She asked.
“This vampire, he is the key to everything. I see her in your hands in six, no, four months time.” She whispered.
“Four months... that’s unacceptable Augustine! I want details on how to change that!” He growled.
“There is no other way I can see. This vampire, you must make him accept your offer today. He will need more then to think he can sleep with my mother... give him something he cant say no to.” She mumbled in her trance like state.
“More, like what?”
“I can’t say, everything else is muddled.” She admitted, then woke up and frowned. “You’ve gotten everything that I could see, and you’ve been here longer than you should've been for me to keep my sight.” She snapped wiping tears from her face.
He knelt down taking her chin in his hand, getting a taste of the air around her. When he got the answer he was looking for, a wide smile broke out over his clean shaven face. “Very good Augustine. You’ve at least given me a deadline. But if you haven't been truthful, you know the consequences that will come."
He stood up making his way to the door. “You’ve been so helpful, I think I’ll let Nikon come and have a conjugal visit with you… maybe wash your hair.” He chuckled making his way out.
With what little lucidity she had left, she smiled. The path was not going to be an easy one, and there were things that she couldn’t see. But this was the path they were supposed to be on... especially if they wanted to get rid of Irvington.
Thomas made his way to the top floor in the Chrysler building, wondering what the hell he was thinking? This man was a fucking psychopath and he was going to meet with him. But if what Mr. West said was true, he knew where Molly was. “You’re such a fucking idiot. Do you think being the knight in shinning armor is going to get her back in your bed!” He grumbled to himself.
The elevator slid open to the lavish restaurant, when he looked down at his jeans and button up shirt. “Bollocks…” He griped walking over to the hostess.
The elegant woman glanced up at him and her eyes ran over his clothing before she spoke. “Can I help you?” She asked with a tinge of snobbishness in her voice.
“Yes, my dear, you can.” He smiled with his charming vampire smile.
Her body relaxed as she blinked a couple times at him, now under his spell. “What can I do for you, sir.” She smiled.
“I’m meeting a Mr. West here this afternoon.” He said smoothly.
“Oh, yes. He did say he was expecting someone.” She said taking a menu. “Follow me please.” She sighed when their eyes met. Humans… so easy.
He followed the hostess when she walked over to a Goliath of a man who could only have been Mr. West. The girl stopped quickly when they reached the table, making him almost ran into the back of the her. “Hello Thomas, glad you made it.” Mr. West said as he stood extending his hand.
He looked at the hand for a moment. Most vampires don’t shake hands, they find it to… human, therefore beneath them. But when this massive man stood in front of him, he took his offered hand shaking it. “Thank you for the invitation.”
“Please, take a seat. We’ve much to discuss.” Mr. West smiled sitting back down.
He saw from the corner of his eye a rather shady man sitting at another table, watching him. He looked back to Mr. West leerily. “I take it he’s with you?”
“Don’t worry about him. He’s just here to make sure that nobody sneaks up on me.” Mr. West chuckled.
But for some reason, Thomas highly doubted that. He took his seat across the table from Mr. West waiting to hear the reason why he just so happened to be chosen. “You said you were going to show me more then just a picture that Molly was alive.” He stated.
Mr. West took a sip of his drink and then sat back gauging him with a grin. “I suppose I did. But all I have at this moment is photo, and I was lucky enough to even get that. But you can trust me, Molly is alive.”
“That’s bull shit! What the hell do you really want from me?” He growled.
“I want your help, and for you to be a partner.” Mr. West offered.
“Yeah, but a partner in what?”
“A partner in this new world that I am creating, Thomas. Why else do you think I’m doing all of this?”
“Because you’re fucking crazy.” He murmured then heard a deep evil chuckle and looked up and saw a smirk that sent a chill down his spine.
“If you’re worried about Molly really being alive or not, don’t. I know my bride is alive. And I have it on good authority that she will be in our grasp in four months.” Mr. West claimed.
“Your bride... what a minute. Did you say our?” He asked.
“I did.” Mr. West grinned.
“What do you mean by that?” He squinted.
“Exactly what you think it means. I’m offering you something very rare, and I wouldn’t offer it to just anyone. But I’ve been told that you’re the man who can get my girl.”
“Look I don’t know what you’re getting at? Even if Molly was alive, she’s already bonded to all of her makers. And that means there’s no way in hell that she’s your bride. So in other words, we’re done here.” He growled getting ready to leave.
“Stop. If you leave now this chance will never come again, and I will ask the Russian werewolf for his help instead. I’m sure he wouldn’t mind taking your missed opportunity of being her husband.” Mr. West stated casually.
He dropped back to the chair in shock. “What?”
“You were my first choice, but the werewolf is just as greedy for Molly as you are...”
“No, what are you saying about me being a husband?” He asked.
Mr. West's grin grew wide. “Yes, you would be a husband, along with me, and Tipton. How does that sound to you?”
He looked down at the table shaking his head knowing this was all to good to be true, but... “How?”
Mr. West tapped his fingers on the table, but then answered “It’s really quite simple. Those men are her makers, but I’m one of her kind. We are the same, but we are also the opposite. Therefore we fit together like a puzzle piece.”
Thomas nodded, getting some of what was being said... he'd heard crazier shit. "Okay lets say I believe you about Molly being alive. What do you want me to do to come over to the dark side?"
Mr. West leaned forward on the table. “I have been told that you live with a woman who is like a sister to Molly. Is that correct?”
“Yes.” He shrugged.
“Then all you have to do is stay where you are and she’ll eventually make her way back. Her makers told everybody that she didn’t live through her injuries, so she could heel. But once she has...”
"She'd come back to see Georgie." He finished.
This made complete sense to him. Why hadn’t he even thought of this before! “So you're just going to wait for her to come back and then what? Just come and get her?”
“Not quite, it’s more complicated then that. But first, are you in or out?" Mr. West asked.
He ran his hand through his hair thinking... “So if I say I’m interested that’s it, I’m in?”
“That's not the answer that I wanted to hear, and I don't repeat myself normally, but I'll ask you once more, then we go to the werewolf. Are you in or out?”
His shoulders tensed, thinking about Dorin getting offered what he wanted. “I’m in!”
Mr. West sat back smiling. “Excellent, It’s good to have you on board. So now that your part of our family, there is a particular problem that I need taken care of.”
“What is it that you need me to do?”
“I need you to kill Andric and Edwina Monroe.” Mr. West smiled.
He shot forward, banging his hands on the table, when Mr. West man grab into his shoulder. “What the hell are you talking about!?" He fumed.
“Don't go thinking of them as innocent bystanders. Those two have worked for me for a long time now... how else do you think I knew about you, and who you lived with?" Mr. West chuckled.
"What, no, it can't be..." He murmured.
"Andric has been keeping me abreast of all Molly's activities in her home cluster since she went back. Hell, I even knew where she was hiding when she was gone all those years.” Mr. West exclaimed.
“Then why don’t you have her now?” He questioned.
“Molly has, well, let's just say she has grown into her powers, and that's making it difficult for me to have anyone go and get her. But now that I have you, everything will go as planned. But, I want all lose ends taken care of, and that means those two vampires need to be taken care of too.” Mr. West stated.
“I don't think I can do that. Andric has been a friend to me for over a century now." He mumbled, his hand going to the back of his neck.
“I don't think you understand the full picture here. Everyone in your cluster already knows that they are traders Thomas. That's why I need this job done quietly. If it’s done wrong, certain persons might figure out that I have another inside source to get to Molly.”
“But nobody's told me about all this?” He admitted.
“Well, now consider yourself informed my friend.” Mr. West grinned.
Thomas racked his brain trying to see if he missed anything that was hinted about, but he knew he hadn't. So why was he kept in the dark? “Why wouldn’t they tell me that Andric and Eddie were spies?”
“Haven't you figured that out yet? They didn’t think you needed to know.” Mr. West frowned.
He crossed his arms thinking about everything he'd been through thinking Molly was dead, but was it only him?. “Do you think everyone else knew about Molly being alive?” He asked as his anger simmered. These were his friends, and now he finds out that two of them were traders, and the rest thought he was beneath them?
“Who’s to say what anyone else knows. All I can tell you is that they deemed you unfit to have knowledge of it.” Mr. West offered. “Now, do you think you’ll have any problem completing the job that I gave you? Because I need it done within the month. I'm thinking you should have it look like they were trying to make an escape, while they still could.”
“They really did keep me in the dark… didn’t they?” He murmured to himself.
“Look I’m giving you an opportunity to be more than what you are. I’m not sure if you’re aware of this, but I’m the king of my kind, and Molly is the Queen. Your children will fall into royalty. Now tell me, isn’t that worth a little blood on your hands?” Mr. West asked.
“Children?” He stammered.
A sly smile crossed over Mr. West face. “Yes, children. You wouldn’t mind having a child with Molly now would you? Your child would be growing in her belly. Wouldn't you want to have a child with the woman you love?”
“A child with Molly. Children…” His thoughts rolled around his head. “I’m going to need two or three months.” He finally answered.
“That is unacceptable.” Mr. West started to say, when he put his hand up to stop him..
“Look, just hear me out.” He said, and Mr. West sat back looking annoyed.
“You told me Molly would be in our hands in four months. If you want me to make this look like Andric and Eddie ran away because they knew there cover was blown, then give me that time. Then I can plant little suggestion that they know that their cover might be blown while they're still alive?" He explained.
"Look, I know this cluster. There're leaving Andric and Eddie alone and using them to get to you. But I can change that and give them false leads to you instead. Then when the timing is right, I can get rid of Andric and Eddie, and no one would be the wiser.”
A cruel chuckle came from Mr. West. “You know, I don’t think they give you enough credit, do they.” He stated then nodded. “Fine, we'll do it your way."
He got up from the table and then Mr. West's guy came and handed him a cell. “If you need to get a hold of me, just use that phone. I will check in from time to time making sure everything is on track.” Mr. West told him.
“Yeah, sounds good Mr. West."
"It's Irvington, Thomas."
"Okay Irvington. I’ll keep you updated on everything.” He agreed, then he made his way out of the restaurant and then the building. Once outside, he started to walk down the street thinking about conversation he just had, and smiled. He was going to be a husband to Molly. Hell, Molly was going to bare his child… no, his children! “Yes, definitely worth getting my hands bloody!” He grinned already making plans.
Deo made his way to the table after watching Thomas get into the elevator. “That seemed to go quite well for you.” He said taking the seat that Thomas had just vacated.
“Yes it did go rather well. He’s more clever than I gave him credit for. I’m not sure if that will work in my favor, or against it.” Mr. West stated.
“All you really need is for him to get the job done with the vampires, then we can kill him off.”
“I might just keep him around as my perfect assassin. I can keep him on the hook by dangling his love in front of him.” Mr. West chuckled. "At least we know now that Augustine was telling me the truth."
“Yes, that is true. So then your bride should be within your reach in four months time. But are you actually going to make that vampire a husband?" Deo asked.
“Hell no! Let a filth vampire mix with the blood of royalty? But I will let him be a lover, if only just to keep him on a very short leash.” He laughed.
“Irvington, I think that pet won’t stay loyal to you. And if your not careful, it might even come back and bite you in the end." Deo warned.
Mr. West took his glass swirling the whiskey around before drinking the rest. “You might be right, but let’s see if he’s trainable. If not, and it leads into complications... he's easy to get rid of.”
