uno // did I really ran into that guy?
Running through New York City in heels is not fun. At all.
Today I had to be at 8 o’clock sharp at Mario Simone’s office for a model casting. I had fifteen minutes left to arrive and I was still running through the last block. With half of a bagel in hand, I try to do my best so that I don’t run into the pedestrians.
And why am I late you might ask? Well, my brilliant best friend convinced me to have a Bring It On movie marathon late last night even though she knew I had to wake up early today. I didn’t hear my alarm until 6:30. I had gotten ready in like three seconds and ran out of our apartment with breakfast in hand.
Right now I could see the elegant building standing really close to me. But what I didn’t notice was the guy that I had just ran into.
Thank God I didn’t have any coffee in hand. That would have been awful.
“Oh my God! Are you okay? I’m so sorry. I’m just in a rush right now and I wasn’t looking at the way. I didn’t mean to run into you and push you to the ground. I’m so, so sorry. Really.” I rambled while I gave him a hand to help him up.
He took my hand and looked at me with a scowl on his face and I gave him a sheepish smile.
He stood to his full height and even though he wasn’t that much taller than me I felt short standing right in front of him. I made eye contact with him because he was saying something but as soon as we locked eyes I almost went into a trance.
He had beautiful brown eyes that seemed to drown you in. I kept on taking in his handsome face and noticed that he seemed pissed off. Then he snapped his fingers right in front of my face breaking me out of my trance.
“I’m sorry what were you saying?” I said embarrassed. I’m pretty sure I’m even blushing right now.
“Are you dumb? I was saying that you should look at where you’re going I don’t appreciate when strangers run into me on the street. And I like it even less when people don’t pay attention to what I’m saying.” The guy said in a gruff voice scowling even more than before.
“I’m-I’m...” I stuttered but then I remembered that I had already apologized to him for running into him and it was my turn to be mad.
“Say something already!” He said irritated.
“I’m sorry but I already apologized to you. I even helped you get up so don’t be so condescending and stop scolding me as if I was your child. And if you’ll excuse me I’m still running late.” I responded angrily and walked away relieved because I still had eight minutes to get there. I was now only a few steps away from the building.
“Hey, I’m not done with you yet. Get back here!” The now furious guy shouted at me.
“Well, I am. See you never!” I shouted back at him almost mockingly. He turned and walked away fuming.
When I found myself in front of Mario’s building I took a few seconds to compose myself and then entered.
“Good Morning, how can I help you?” The receptionist asked me.
“Good Morning, my name is Emma Rose Hart and I’m here for the casting.” I replied.
“Okay, so I need you to fill in this form and then hand it in with your sample shots or portfolio.” She said while giving me a clipboard with the papers.
“Thanks.” I said and went to sit on a chair to fill in the papers with my personal information.
After giving her back the clipboard she showed me the way to the room I’m supposed to go. “Just walk through this hallway and enter to the first door at your left.”
“Got it, thank you.” I started walking and stopped in front of the door and took a deep breath.
Here we go. I hope that I get this one I can’t deal with any more failed attempts.
