sei // someone get me a restraining order

Yesterday I prepared everything for today. I was already dressed in an outfit that didn’t show that I had spent all evening putting it together. It is made up of a simple black A-line mini skirt, a white mock-neck top, and mid-calf black patent boots. My blonde hair was styled in bouncy waves so that it looked naturally voluminous and I was wearing a full face of Glossier makeup. Since its best to not wear make up for a casting this is my go-to brand because it just enhances your natural beauty

You see, simple and effortless like I hadn’t spent all of yesterdays evening preparing it.

By 7:00 am I was already finished with my breakfast so that it didn’t have the same misfortune of last time when my bagel ended up on the dirty streets of New York. Today, I felt more relaxed than last time. I had woken up early and was heading out with 40 minutes to spare.

Georgia Smith’s workplace is way farther than Mario’s so I had opted for the subway this time. Heels and long walking distances just don’t go together. You might say, but Emma aren't you supposed to be a model? Aren’t you supposed to master the art of walking in heels? Well, the answer is yes but, when you’re going to a casting you don’t want to walk all wobbly and weird because your feet hurt. It’s just not pretty.

Anyways, back to the point. There, in the subway, I had found a free seat during rush hour by a miracle of God. By disgrace, it was beside an old lady who talked my ear off the whole 10 minutes of the ride. And mind you, I’m a very patient person when it comes to the elderly but that lady was getting o my last nerve. So, when I had reached my destination I got up and almost ran out of the train.

It was a very graceful escape. Note the sarcasm.

After that eventful train ride, I started walking towards Georgia’s building. When I was getting nearer to my destination I noticed a guy leaning on the front wall. He was wearing a leather jacket, a white t-shirt, and dark jeans very James Deanesque. It was only when I got a little closer when I noticed who it was.

Are you kidding me? It’s that same guy from the other day.

But, right now I couldn’t help but admire how handsome he really is. I already knew how attractive he is but when he’s not all angry and irritated you can actually appreciate it better.

He’s very tall and lean, like the kind of guy that works out and is toned but not overly ripped. His hair is styled in a longish quiff which looked retro enough to not be costume-like and forced. It compliments nicely the whole vibe that he has going on. From here I could notice how good his skin is, the sunlight is making his tan glow and contrast with his dark clothing. He has a nice face okay, the usual straight nose, high cheekbones, and strong jawline that makes all the girls swoon. He looks like a model.

While we are at it, can he give me some skincare tips?

Oh God, I feel like a stalker from how long I’ve been staring at him. Could someone get me a restraining order? Like, right now.

Finally, I decided to stop my obsessive staring and approached him.

Is he smoking? “You know that kills, right?” I said to make my presence known.

When he looked my way he seemed to tense up at the fact of knowing who I am. But he quickly relaxed and put on an uninterested look. “First, what are you doing here? And second, how is that any of your business?” He then said in an impassive tone.

“First,” I said kind of mocking him. “I could ask you the same thing. Second, it’s just a piece of advice and third, you don’t have to be so rude, okay?”

“Well, what do you expect me to do? Welcome you with open arms? I hate when people stick their nose in my business, even more, when they’re strangers.” He bit back.

“By the way,” he said with a smirk. Oh God, this guy, and his mood swings. First, he’s biting my head off and now he’s mocking me with that smirk. “Didn’t you think that I would have noticed you standing there and staring at me?” Wait, what? He noticed me? “Yeah don’t look so surprised. I guess you do are a stalker after all.”He finished with a smug look on his face.

I want the earth to swallow me whole. Like, now.

“Yeah…I-I have to go now. Bye!” I said in a rush with what I guess is a blush because my face is burning right now.

“Wait, where are you going? Can you at least tell me your name?” The guy said but it was too late I was already inside the building.

As of now, I had already finished with my audition which I could say that went great. My effort to look good wasn’t in vain. You could see it in Georgia’s face; she was so impressed that she had told me to wait until the casting was over so that she could talk to me in private.

It was now forty-five minutes later and I had noticed Georgia walking to her office. I then decided to follow her to see what she wanted to talk to me about.

When I reached the door I knocked on it so that she knew that I was here. “Come on in.”

“You wanted to see me Georgia?”

“Yes Emma, take a seat and thanks for waiting.” I did as she said and sat in one of the chairs in front of her desk which was neatly organized.

The only thing I could say about Georgia is that I want to look just like her. For a woman who is in her fifties, she looks spectacular. Beautiful is too short of a word to describe her she’s absolutely stunning. Her caramel colored hair is styled to absolute perfection, her face with little makeup because it isn’t necessary, and her tanned skin has the healthiest glow ever. Even her outfit was styled to perfection. She must have been a model before turning into a designer.

“Okay so, Emma. Mario was absolutely right about you.” Georgia said breaking me out of my little trance.

“What do you mean?” I said a little confused because I wasn’t fully listening to her.

“I mean that you are absolutely perfect for my campaign. You’re exactly what I’m looking for.” She explained to me and I couldn’t believe it. I think my heart stopped beating for a little right there.

“Seriously?” I said because I couldn’t contain my excitement.

“Yes, and I know that I’m supposed to go over all of the models to reach a decision but I don’t need to. Emma, you got the job!” Georgia said. “Congratulations.” She said and gave me a hug.

We were interrupted when the door opened all of a sudden and someone entered the office. “Emma, meet your partner for this campaign, Valentino Benedetti.” Georgia said and motioned me to the guy that had interrupted us.

I looked up to see his face and then noticed who he was.

“Are you freaking kidding me?”
