Chapter 25: Confessions & Dances

Maggie was scared as she climbed the ladder. I had gotten out of the pool and was now wrapped in a towel watching her.

“Told you I wouldn’t break anything,” I whispered to Kaden.

“Yeah, I can see that. How did you do that anyway?” He asked me.

“I’ll tell you later,” I said as I watched Maggie jump off the board. She tried to do a flip, but that failed miserably. She finished by just splashing into the pool.

She quickly came up, much like I did, and dried off to get as warm as possible. “How did you do that?” She questioned me.

“A good diver never reveals her secrets,” I said laughing a bit. “Now, let’s have fun!” I said before diving right back into the water.

I woke up the next morning knowing it was the last day we’d be here. It was also the day of the dance. I was dreading the dance. I didn’t want to go, but Maggie was forcing me to. I was her Luna, well not yet, but she can’t tell me what to do!

“Leah, come on get up already. It’s like 11.” Maggie said pouncing on my bed which causes me to lean up.

“And?” I questioned her.

Can’t she tell I want to get some sleep?

“And, we have to get ready for the dance, don’t worry I brought you a dress.” She said walking over to her suitcase and pulling out a stunning white dress.

I huffed. “Why do I have to get ready now? It’s the dance start at like 5?” I asked.

“Yes, but we need time to plan your makeup and pick out your shoes.” She said placing the white dress on the end of my bed.

“And that takes 6 hours?”

She smiled like a kid on Christmas. “Yep!”

I sighed and pulled the covers over my head, trying to go back to sleep.

I heard Maggie open the door and let someone in. “Wake her up!” She huffed.

“I have to get her ready for the dance and she is being stubborn as always.”

“You do realize the dance doesn’t start for another 6 hours right?” Kaden’s voice rang in my ear.

Maggie huffed in protest. “Yes, I know that!” She snapped. “I have to get her ready and pick out her makeup and the type of shoes and most of all the hairstyle she is going to be wearing.”

“Calm down Mags,” Kaden said to her.

I heard his heavy footsteps approach my bed. “You need to wake up sweetheart.” He whispered in my ear.

“No!” I said. “I’m not getting ready for some stupid dance that is freaking 6 hours away.” I protested.

“Yes, but if you get it over with now then you get to spend more time with your favorite person.” Kaden mind linked me.

“You mean Eden? She isn’t even here!” I sent to him. I let out a small laughed and soon enough I was being tickled by Kaden.

“Stop Kaden!” I said giggling as he kept tickling me. “I hate being tickled!”

“I figured that much. Now, who is your favorite person again?” He said.

I sighed. “If you stop tickling me, I’ll tell you!” I said. He pulled his hands away.

“Answer.” He demanded playfully.

“Fine, I guess my favorite person is you,” I said in defeat. “For now.”

He leaned down and kissed my cheek which caused me to blush. “Good, now get ready. I’ll be waiting to see you.” He said winking at me before leaving the room.

“I’m up, happy?” I snapped at Maggie.

She giggled. “Very. Now let’s get you ready!”

She pulled me from my bed and pushed me into the bathroom. “Now, let’s start with your makeup and hair!”

It seemed like 10 hours before Maggie was finished. Two hours it had taken her to finally find the perfect hairstyle and makeup to compliment me and the beautiful dress.

“We’ve got 4 hours left until the dance. I’m going to go see Dean. I’ll be back in 1-2 hours depending on how busy I am to get you ready.” Maggie said.

I rolled my eyes. Can’t she just say her and Dean are going to have sex, I mean seriously, it’s not the 1600s anymore.

“Whatever, send Kaden in if he is in there. We need to talk.” I said to her.

“Will do.” She said and walked out the door. I walked over to my bed and laid down, closing my eyes.

“Alayah?” Kaden’s voice filled the emptiness of the room.

I opened my eyes. “Yes?” I asked looking over at him.

Kaden came over and sat on the edge of my bed. “Maggie said that you had to talk to me about something.” He said.

I sat up on the bed. “Yes, we do have something to discuss,” I said. I looked him right into his beautiful brown eyes, we never took our eyes off one another. “We need to discuss, us,” I said to him. “As in our relationship.” I clarified to him.

Kaden shifted a bit, uncomfortable with the situation. “What about our relationship?” He asked.

I threw my hands up in the air in frustration. Can’t this boy get it through his thick skull?

“What are we?” I stated. “Because I don’t go around kissing guys that I may have feelings for out of the blue.”

Kaden laughed a bit at my statement. “I’m whatever you want me to be Alayah.” He said.

“What does that even mean? I want to be with you, I can tell you that much, but I don’t know what we are.”

Kaden took my hands in his and pulled me close to him, our lips barely a few inches apart. “We are mates Alayah, of course, I want to be with you. Why else would I do this?”

I wanted to respond but his lips were on mine before I could say anything. Our lips meshed together as if they were connecting puzzle pieces. I tasted mint on his lips as the kiss deepened.

I pulled away to catch my breath and my forehead was leaning against his. We both kept looking into each other’s eyes. “Does that answer your question Alayah?” He asked, a small smirk on his face.

“Yes,” I said to him. “What do we do now?” I asked him.

“When we go back home, tomorrow we’ll finally announce you officially as the Luna of the pack.” He replied.

“Does this mean I have to wear a dress?” I complained. Kaden laughed.

“No, as Luna you can wear whatever you want, but something nice would be good. Don’t want you to come out butt naked and be introduced into the pack.” He said.

It was my turn to laugh. “You would like that wouldn’t you?”

He let out a small growl. “No, considering every male in the pack will be staring at you if you did and I’d have to rip their heads off.” He said. “You are only mine and only I get to see you like that.”

I nodded my head when Maggie opened the door and came into the room. “It’s been an hour and a half. Get out, Kaden. I have to get Leah ready for the dance.” She said grabbing Kaden by the arm and pulling him out of the room.

“Don’t worry, you’ll see her later Romeo.” Then Maggie shut the door in his face before turning to me. “We have 2 and a half hours to get you ready and out the door. Let’s go!” She said and dragged me into the bathroom and threw a towel at me.

“Take a shower, then we’ll get you ready.” She said. I sighed.

Finally, after it seemed like forever I was finally dressed and had my makeup on my face. We had half an hour to spare. “So how do I look?” Maggie said twirling her dress. She had gotten dressed while I was in the shower. Apparently, she took a shower over at the boys’ room.

“You look amazing, as always,” I told her. She stopped spinning and looked at me.

“You look beautiful Leah, I don’t know why you don’t wear dresses a lot, they look amazing on you.” She complimented me.

“Thanks, Mags, but I just don’t like them. They aren’t me.” I told her. She nodded her head in my answer.

Soon there was a knock at the door. “That will be the boys.” She said.

We walk over and swing open the door. “Boys,” Maggie said to both of them.

“Maggie,” They replied in unison. I looked back and forth between them, a bit confused. They didn’t rehearse this, did they?

“You guys ready to take us down there or what?” I said to them. The boys looked over at me.

“Let’s go then,” Maggie said taking Dean’s arm and disappearing down the hallway down the stairs.

Kaden held out his arm for me to take, which I did. “So this is just an end of the conference dance type thing?” I asked.

“Yeah, pretty much. Then everyone leaves at 7 to pack and then everyone leaves the hotel at 8.” Kaden explained.

“Oh,” I said. We continued chatting and soon enough we ended up in the ballroom, well that’s what it looked like anyway. Something right out of a fairytale. There were streamers hanging up everywhere and balloons hanging up. A drink table was in the back corner along with snacks.

Music was playing very loudly through black speaks positioned around the room. I felt Kaden drop my arm. “Would you like to dance Alayah?” He asked me, placing a hand out for me to take. I felt as if I was blushing like an idiot, which I probably was.

“Yes,” I said and took his hand. His hand tightened around mine and he dragged me onto the dance floor. Currently, a slow dance song was playing. Kaden had his hands wrapped around my waist and I had my hands draped over the back of his neck. With the heels, Maggie lent me I was almost as tall as him.

“By the way Alayah,” Kaden spoke up. “you look beautiful tonight, baby.” He said whispering to me.

I blushed like a baboons butt. “Well, you don’t look so bad yourself,” I said back to him.

“I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for you. I’d probably be drunk somewhere.” He said and leaned down kissing me on the cheek.

I blushed once more. How many times will this boy do this to me? All I know is that tomorrow I’ll officially be the Luna of the Dark Hollow Pack.

Isn’t that scary or what?
