Chapter 16

Jimmy

It had been a long time since he had thought about the day him and the guys got signed, and the day he proposed and made love to Addison for the first time. His dreams normally haunted him every damn minute of the day for the past eight years, but the dream last night was different. It reminded him how fucking badly he wanted his baby girl and how long she made him wait. She was never one that could be rushed into something… then last night came rushing back to him.

Damn it just thinking about how her sweet little body reacted to him; he was already hard. But if he knew his baby girl, that was great for getting what he wanted, but not in making her want to take him back into her life permanently. “Shit.” He groaned, rubbing his hands over his face.

Last night Addison had fallen asleep next to him as they watched T.V., and soon after that, he fell asleep with his arm wrapped around her. But now he realized he was all alone on the sofa.

He sat up taking a quick look around the quiet house making up his mind that he needed to slow the fuck down, or things could go sideways for him like they did after she took him back the first time.

As he thought things over in his head on what he could do with Addison and the boys for the day, his cell started to ring on the kitchen counter. He hurried over to pick it up, not wanting to wake up anyone, when he saw who it was. “What the hell Jones, you want to wake up the whole damn house calling this early in the morning?” He asked, in hushed tones.

“Shut the hell up man, everyone is going to be up in like fifteen minutes. My crew is already up and getting started on breakfast.” Jones chuckled.

“So, then what the hell do you want?”

“Go get your ass ready; I’m heading over to pick up you up and meet the guys at the gym. Our women have a big day of shopping and getting shit for the kids for school… unless it’s that kind of shit that turns your ass on now.” Jones laughed.

“Damn, I was thinking of taking Addie and the boys out for lunch and a movie.” He admitted.

“Not today you’re not. It’s an all-day thing getting clothing and things for the new school year… plus with my crew, it takes a little longer. And, they’re taking Tia’s kids because from what I hear, she’s about ready to pop.” Jones informed him.

“Man, what the hell is up with you and Howie and knocking your women up?” He sighed, but then nodded. “Yeah, I’ll be ready. I just got up, so give me ten.”

“I’ll tell you all about knocking up my woman when I pick you up.” Jones laughed.

“I’d rather you not!” He chuckled before hanging up.

He put down his cell and picked up a pair of shorts and a tank top from his bag before heading to the bathroom. Once he was down the hall, he looked in on the boys, who were getting restless even though they were still sleeping, and then gave a small knock on Addison’s door. When she didn’t answer, he peeked in to see she wasn’t in bed but heard the shower running. “Damn it; I wanted to talk to her before I go.” He murmured, shutting the door.

Soon he was out of the shower, and ready to go. When he got out of the bathroom, he saw that Addison’s door was still closed and swore under his breath. There was so much he needed to say, and make sure she wasn’t upset about last night… or that she didn’t want to throw his ass out on the streets because of it. So, with a shake of his head, he went to the front room to see J.W. and Justin sitting on the floor watching cartoons, and Jones' ass sitting on the sofa watching them along with the kids. “People would be fucking amazed if they saw our asses when we’re not in the spotlight.” He chuckled under his breath.

Jones glanced up and smiled, getting up from the sofa. “About time, I was about to have J.W. see if you fell into the toilet or something.”

“I told your as… I mean, I told you I just got up.” He informed, remembering that swearing was not permitted in the house around little ears.

“Yeah, alright… so come on.” Jones winked. “Bye guys.” He shouted, but the kids didn’t even budge from their spots.

Jimmy walked over, making sure that J.W. looked at him, and when his little head popped up. “Tell your mom that I said goodbye, alright?”

J.W. just nodded and went back to watching the TV, and he supposed that was the best he was going to get. But Justin popped up from the ground wanted to be picked up and then wrapped his arms around Jimmy’s neck, giving him a good squeeze. “Don’t worry little man, I’ll see you when you get home today, and maybe we’ll all go out to dinner.” He advised the little guy, to which he got a bigger squeeze and a nod.

He walked out the door and saw a red minivan sitting in the driveway, and with Jones ass sitting in the driver’s seat. He couldn’t help but laugh when he opened the door to get in. “After all the years we’ve known each other, and me knowing what a car whore you are… seeing you in a mommy-mobile was the one thing I could never see your ass driving.” He laughed.

“Shut the hell up, man…” Jones grumbled, but then started laughing. “You know, I could give a shit about what I’m driving. I’m a dad Jim, and I fucking love it!” He confessed.

“I would hope so with as many kids you keep having.” He chuckled.

“You remember that night that I almost lost Margie?”

“Yeah, that was a rough night. That fucking Crystal is like the plague.” He answered.

“Hell yeah, she is. But I got Margie pregnant because I didn’t want her to leave me. But after Chris was born… man, seeing something that you made with the woman you love, I can’t fucking describe it. Then when you watch them grow up and you see bits of yourself along with your woman…it’s fucking amazing!”

“Yeah, I can see that.” He admitted, wanting some of that with Addison.

“So anyway, now onto other topics… how did it go with Addie last night?” Jones asked.

“Not bad.” He shrugged, not going to give him any fucking clue to what happened.

Jones was quiet at his lackluster remark and then started laughing. “You fucking dog, you already slept with her, didn’t you!”

“Damn it Jones, just shut the hell up.” He sighed as his hands went over his face.

“What, did you shoot your load before you got her off?” He snickered.

“No, that’s not what happened at all asshole. But the last thing I wanted to do was rush things between us. I did that before, and let’s remember how fucking good that went for me.” He confessed.

“What, did you force it on her or some shit?”

“What the fuck, of course I didn’t!” He growled.

“Then relax man, you're going to be fine. She wanted it to.” Jones winked slapping him in the chest. “Now come on. With the way our women cook… going to the gym is a must if we don’t want to turn into potbellied fat fuckers.”

“Yeah, I get it.”

Two hours later as the rest of the guys kept working out, he went and took a shower and sit out on the patio and get himself something to drink and just sit back and relax and take a minute to just be happy.

The sun was bright and it was hot out as he took his smoothie and sat down at a table under an umbrella and started going through his email on his cell when he heard a chair being pulled out. He looked up and saw that shit South sit his fucking ass right in front of him. “What the fuck are you doing?” He growled.

“I thought you and I should have a talk,” South exclaimed.

“Yeah, about what… me beating your ass?!”

“You might be able to kick my ass, but I would leave some damage on your ass as well,” South growled.

“What the fuck do you want? I came out here to have some alone time. The last thing I need is some little douche waiting to get into a pissin’ contest with me.”

“I’m not here for anything like that. And honestly, I’m not even looking for a fight. Yeah, I was pissed when Addison said that she wanted us to just be friends, and was even more pissed when I saw your ass over at her place. But after everything that she’s gone through with you and Win, I think she was totally right… it wouldn’t have worked between us. The kind of life you have when you’re on the road… it’s hard to keep yourself faithful even if you are in love with someone.” South replied.

“So what the fuck do you want from me… a pat on the fucking back for figuring it out?”

“No, I’m here because Win was my best friend and he loved Addison, and the last thing he would have wanted was to see her get involved with your ass again.”

“Well, I guess you don’t’ know your boy as good as you think you do. Win wrote me a letter and told me that he wanted me to go make her and the boys happy, to see if she would take me back.” He growled, but then shook his head. “Look, I never thought I would ever get another chance to have that woman back in my life, but it looks like I might be on my way to getting just that. The last thing I want to do is fuck things up by kicking your ass, so I’m not. Yeah, I fucked up, but I’m man enough to own it, and then I did something about it to have this chance again.”

South just sat there staring at him, his mouth in a hard line before he finally talked again. “Win wrote you a fucking letter?” He mumbled and then shook his head. “Your boys must have gotten to him.”

“That’s not what I’ve been told. He knew that Addie still loved me, and he wanted someone in her life that would love her back.” Was all he replied.

“Well shit, that son of a bitch wanted to make sure that I didn’t have her…” He chuckled, sitting back in the seat. “Make sense actually.”

“Great, now, if you don’t mind, it’s been a hell of a long-ass tour and spending time with you isn’t my thing.” He said going back to reading his emails, but South didn’t leave. “You need something?”

“Yeah, just because Win gave you his blessing and some shit, I don’t want Ad getting hurt by you and the people you hang out with…” South started, but Jimmy shot forward trying not to jump out of the seat and teach this fucker a lesson.

“You need to get your ass up out of my face right now before I forget that I don’t want to upset Addison by beating the fucking shit out of you!” He seethed under his breath.

“Look butt fuck, I wasn’t talking about you physically hurting her… but now that I’ve been around this industry for a while, I know that there are a lot of people that hate your ass. And the last thing I want is for Ad and the boys to get wrapped up in all that shit that comes along with you!” South fired back. “Besides, you got shit going down in your own back yard, and you're to fucking stupid to even know it!” He growled, getting up from the seat and slamming it into the table to leave. “Oh, and by the way, you fucking lay a finger on Addison again… I don’t care if I have to bring a bat to beat the ever-loving fucking hell out of you, because that’s what I’m fucking going to do and make sure I put your ass in the hospital!” He seethed before walking off.

“Son of a bitch!” He hissed, glancing around feeling eyes all over him. He sat back in his chair, as the people around him murmured under their breath about what was going on, and then pretended to go back to reading his phone. “So much for relaxing.” He sighed, and then saw Nickels making his way over to the table.

“What the fuck was that all about?” Nic asked pulling out a seat.

Jimmy just sat back shaking his head. “Nothing, just having a talk with Billy’s new little bands' singer.” He answered. “Man, I hate that fucking band.” He admitted.

“Tell me about it. Lynn and Addie both own stock in D&D label. Billy eats that shit up that Lynn won’t quit.” Nickles sighed picking up his water bottle.

“Addie to?” He asked.

“Oh yeah, her and Lynn make a mint selling their songs and helping Billy and Sam find new artist.”

“Fuck, I didn’t know that.” He admitted, but then that nagging question popped back up. He knew who South was talking about when he was talking about the shit in his own back yard. It was time to put what that little shit was saying about his best friend and his girl to rest… if only his best friend would call his ass back. “Hey, where’s Dax at?” He finally managed to get out.

“Dax, why?” Nickles asked.

“Because I need to ask him something.” Was all he offered.

Nickles sat back putting on his shades and then crossed his arms with a frown. “You want to tell me what this is all about all of a sudden?”

“What the fuck, I’m just asking where Dax is.” He growled.

“I told you he went home so the boys would get to know you.”

“Yeah, but why?” He asked, now really feeling like he wasn’t being told something.

“I think he went back home to see his new girlfriend.” Nickles finally answered.

“He’s got a new girlfriend, since when?”

“Yeah, I heard that he was seeing the lead singer of Turnback.” Nic shrugged.

“You think, he didn’t tell you?”

“No, he said he was going back home and that there was someone he wanted to go see. You do remember the last concert, don’t you, and Dax practically fucking the lead singer in the corner of the room…” Nickles said with a small grin on his face.

“Yeah, I do remember that.” He chuckled.

“So, I just assumed he was going back home to see her. You know how quiet he gets when he gets a girlfriend.”

“Yeah, I know, because of Mindy…” He answered, but Mindy wasn’t around anymore, at least not around the girls from what he could see. He was just about to ask Nickles where the fuck Mindy was when he thought he would have the man himself answer that question for him. “But I still need to talk to him.”

“Then just fucking call him Jim. I’m not his keeper.”

“I have called him and texted; he hasn’t answered.” He said.

“Well if you were off fucking some hot piece of ass, would you want to be interrupted?” Nickles laughed.

“No, I wouldn’t. But that shit never matters when I’m concerned. That’s why my ass is here with you assholes and not just sitting back kicking my feet up at Addie’s place.”

“Hey, you know when we’re off the road, we’re never really off the road.” Nic winked.

"Okay, you win. But now that I’m done, can you take me back to Addie’s place… I want to see if I can get myself a rental car. I want her to come home to flowers and dinner tonight.” He said getting up from his seat and pushing all the bad fucking thoughts out from his head.

“Sure, but why don’t I take you to my place and you can borrow one of my cars while you’re here. Then your name isn’t out there.” Nickles offered texting the guys that they were leaving.

“Any car…” He smirked.

“No, not any car… just one of my least favorites, like Lynn’s.” Nickles grinned pulling out a smoke and lighting it as they walked into the parking lot.

“Hell no, I’d rather have you pissed off at me if something happened to the car then Lynn any day of the week!” He laughed.

“Shut the fuck up…” Nickles laughed as they both got into the car.
