Chapter 39

“Come on Sebastian!”

Juliette yelled up towards the upper level of the house. He was taking his sweet time getting the rest of the bags. Today was the day that they would be leaving their parents home and going back to their own. The boys had to get back to the club, their vacation had come to an end.

“I’m still sad to see you three go,” Angelica said as she gave Juliette yet another hug.

“We’ll be back for the baby shower, I’m excited to see what you’ve come up with.”

Angelica gave her a wink, no words needing to be said between the two.

“You’ll see when you come back, I’m sure you’ll love it.”

Juliette nodded her head, the boys spent the last few days convincing her to hop on the gender reveal party train. She wasn’t too pleased that they had used every tactic in the book, getting her to say yes after giving her a full body massage. They worked through every knot that they could find and left her muscles feeling brand new.

“I’m sure I will.”

“Home sweet home.”

Juliette looked around the apartment as her hand rested on her stomach. They decided that they wanted to go back to their private home instead of the public one. She didn’t feel like dealing with the cameras that came with trying to do absolutely anything.

The boys, on the other hand, thought this will be a good way to keep Kai away from her. Their resources told them he had been on and off the grid. They didn’t want any surprises and definitely didn’t want their baby girl to be going through any stress having to deal with the thought of him and the baby.

“I’m so tired.”

Juliette was showing more, her bump was more noticeable as she sat down in the chair next to the door. She was ready to hop in the bed as she closed her eyes listening to the boys coming in and out with the multiple bags they had with them.

While Juliette was semi-sleeping, the boys were having a discussion as they continued to load the bags into the house.

“I think we should tell her,” Sean said as he picked up the last duffel bag that belonged to Juliette. “She deserves to be kept in the loop about this. You saw how bad she relapsed last time because we didn’t prepare her.”

Sebastian shook his head.

“No, we aren’t telling her about him. We can handle it without her knowing.”

Sean growled in annoyance with his brother. He wanted to protect his angel just as much as he did but this was getting ridiculous. They were going to hurt her even more, this was about her. She deserved to be kept in the loop of what’s going on that involves the safety of her and their baby.

“I’m not letting you call the shots anymore Sebastian!”

He turned his head and stared into his brother’s eyes. He wasn’t going to back down this time, not when it came to his angel. She was his savior, even if she doesn’t know to the full extent. He was going to keep her safe at all cost, even if he had to go through his brother to do it.

“I’m telling her tonight after dinner and that’s final.”

Sean stood up and walked back into the house, leaving his fuming brother on the patio.

Sebastian couldn’t believe the audacity of him, to sit in his face and tell him what he was going to do.

Who did he think he was?

He wouldn’t allow him to fuck up the energy that he was trying so hard to keep Juliette in. She was doing so good with just focusing on the baby and making sure everything was good. He wanted her to have a smooth pregnancy and not have to worry about her shit of a brother.

“Come on mama, we have to get some food in you.”

Juliette cracked open her eyes and noticed her beautiful husband standing over her.

“Sebastian?” He nodded his head as he helped her stand up. She leaned on him for support as she tried to get her body to listen to her. “What do you have in mind?”

“I was thinking about making you some mac and cheese?”

She nodded her head as she walked with him towards the kitchen. He made sure to go at her pace so that it wouldn’t seem that he was moving to fast. He knew her feet hurt and made a mental reminder to give her a massage, later on, he knew she would appreciate the thought.

“Where did Sean go?” Sebastian shrugged his shoulder as he looked in the cabinets. He had sat her in one of the chairs that were directly in front of the breakfast bar they had and began to make her dinner. “I’m sure he just went to go check on the club. We have to get back to work tomorrow.”

She made a noise of acknowledgment as she stared out the large window that was situated in the front of the kitchen. She was able to see the beautiful scenery that they lived by. She never got tired of seeing what nature had created, she loved the beautiful flowers that bloomed near their home.

“I think I’m going to go outside for a little minute.”

Sebastian wasn’t really paying attention to her as he continued to move quickly around the kitchen. She didn’t say anything else as she got up and made her way out of the building. She closed the door gently as she began walking around the garden that the boys had gifted her on one of their anniversaries.

Opening the door to the shed that all her flowers laid in, she stepped in and admired how the light shined through the many windows they had on the ceiling. She couldn’t have felt anymore calm until she heard the voice of someone who haunted her nightmares. The one who tore her childhood apart and left her with countless thoughts of wanting to end her life with psychological damages he caused.

“Hey, sis.”
