Chapter Twenty: It's Time!

It's January 13th 2017 or in other words it's my due date for the baby to be born, and he still isn't here. Yes, you heard me right, I'm having a boy. Kyle and I found out in the middle of September, the day we picked out this house.

It was around midday, but I have been having back pain since I woke up at four o'clock this morning, and I'm also stressed, because Kyle should have been home five days ago, but something happened on set and they had to film for a few extra days, but he told me that he would be home today, to which I responded that if he ever wanted to see the baby or me again, then he better be here.

At around three o'clock, I realised that I wasn't having Braxton hicks, I was actually in labour and my waters had just broken and Kyle was all the way in Brazil. I knew that I wasn't going to be getting the bus

to the hospital, so I quickly sent out a multiple message to Katie, Miles, Clara and Mitchell, saying that I was in labour and Kyle still wasn't home.

Clara was the first to text back, saying that she would be here in ten minutes, so I sent a text out to the others, and my brother saying to meet us at the hospital, and then as I waited for Clara, with the hospital bag that I had had packed two weeks ago and ready by the front door five days ago, I called Kyle.

The first, second and third time it went straight to voicemail, so he may still be filming, but he should still have left it on, his secret pregnant wife is in labour.

The fourth time it rang six times before going to voicemail.

And on the fifth time he answered, shouting something about press, and being surrounded, before hanging up, he must not have looked at who was calling and thought it was his agent.

There was a knock at the door and I knew that it was Clara, "The door's open!" I called out, pushing myself off the sofa and towards the front door.

"Rose, how long have you been having contractions?" was the first thing that she asked me.

"Since around four am, but they got much worse just after lunch, could you pick up my bag please?" I added onto the end, once I had reached her at the door, my phone still in my hand.

She quickly grabbed my bag and then helped me out of the house, closing and locking the door behind us, as she has a spare key.

"Have you not gotten a hold of him yet?" Clara asked me, just as she helped me into the car.

"No" I said, and then she closed the door running around to the driver's side and pulling out onto the street.

"What if he doesn't make it? What if he doesn't love me anymore?" I started crying, looking down at the phone.

"He better make it, and I know that Kyle loves you and this baby so much, he would never dream of leaving you"

"Really?"

"Yes now, why don't you try and ca-" she was interrupted the phone in my hands ringing.

"It's him"

"Answer it then sweetie"

"It hurts"

"I know, but we're almost at the hospital, just answer the phone and talk to Kyle"

"Okay" I cried over the top of the pain as I pressed the answer key put the phone against my ear.

"Kyle" I said, shakily.

"Rosie baby, what's wrong?" he sounded worried, I knew that he could hear me crying.

"You have to hurry Kyle"

"Okay, I'll be there in an hour, what's happened?" I could hear people shouting in the background.

"It's the baby, he's coming"

"Crap, baby I'll be there in an hour, just hold on for me baby"

"But you're in Brazil"

"No, I was going to surprise you, I've just left the airport, I'll meet you at the hospital in an hour, okay?"

"Okay, but hurry Ky, it hurts"

"I know baby, I'll be there soon, I love you Rosie"

"I love you too, Ky" I hung up as we pulled into the hospital car park.

"He's on his way." I told Clara before we both rushed into the hospital.

"I need some help, she's in labour" Clara called out, just as I cried out in pain again.

As I was being wheeled away, I told Clara to tell Miles to wait at entrance with Ila and Marie for Kyle, and then to bring him up.

The next hour passed by in a flash of pain and gas and air, Katie and Miles came with Ila and Marie, before he left with the two of them to wait for Kyle, and Katie staid at my side.

My brother came with Karee, before they were ushered out of the room, along with Mitchell and Mark, who had come in with Katie, Miles, Ila and Marie, because I was fully dilated, and Kyle still wasn't here.

"I need Kyle, please!" I screamed out to everyone in the room.

"There's no time the baby's coming, it's time to push"

I breathed in and out a few times before answering, "Okay"

"On the count of three you need to start pushing okay?"

I didn't answer, I just moaned.

"One...Two...thre-"

The doctor was interrupted by the door being slammed open, "I'm here!"

I pushed, "I thought you'd never make it" I groaned out to him.

"Me too, but I'm glad I did though" He said, as he made his way towards me, wrapped his arm over my head and kissed my forehead.

Twenty minutes later and my son was finally born, and placed in my arms.

I kissed his forehead and whispered, "I'm glad daddy didn't miss seeing you being born Anthony, because you are very special to us"

The bed had been propped upright and Kyle was sat on my right, closest to our son's head, and copied my actions, but lifted him into his own arms to whisper, "I love you and your mummy very much Anthony, I'm so sorry that I almost missed your birth, but I'll do everything in my power to protect you and your mummy"

Both of us had tears in our eyes by the time he had finished speaking, and the midwives came over to take Anthony to be cleaned up.

"Have you picked a name yet?" the midwife asked as she gently picked the baby up from Kyle's arm.

"Yes," I told her, "Anthony Lloyd Blake"

"That's a lovely name" she said, before taking Anthony and leaving the room.

"You did good today Rosie" Kyle smiled at me.

"No thanks to you" I chuckled.

"I am sorry about being late, it's manic on the roads at this time, and I had to lose the reporters."

"I know, I'm just glad you're here"

"Me too" he then kissed me softly on the lips.

"You do know that you're not going to get any for six weeks, don't you?" I pulled away slightly.

"Yeah, I'll live" and then he pressed his lips back to mine, but I wasn't so sure that he would.
