That stupid smirk was smeared all across Easton’s face as he slowly shook my hand. I couldn’t quite tell what he was thinking, but if I was being honest, it was probably his plan to completely ruin my life by making me his slave.

Looking up at the sky, I shake my head at myself as I ignore Easton’s presence in front of me.

Why do I put myself in these situations?

His soft calloused hand clasped mine gently as I narrowed my eyes at him in suspicion before ripping my hand from his grip. Crossing my arms across my chest, I squinted up at him as he cocked his head to the side and stared at me.

Shrinking back from his heated gaze, I gave him an odd stare, “What?” I questioned, pushing a stray hair behind my ear as I stared into his golden eyes.

As if he had just been snapped out of a trance, Easton slightly shook his head before grinning down at me.

“Nothing, just thinking about step one.” He cryptically answered as he flashed me a mischievous look that resembled Brandon’s when he was about to do something he knew I didn’t like.

“Step one?” I asked, furrowing my eyebrows in confusion. Shifting from one foot to the other, I hoisted my bag farther up my shoulder while placing a hand in front of my cheek to block the scorching sun that was releasing rays of light and heat across my face.

Easton didn’t respond as he shrugged his shoulders at me before turning around and walking farther into the parking lot. I watched as his back muscles clenched from beneath his workout shirt and found myself appreciating the view.

Snap out of it Mallory!

No distractions and definitely no more boys!

Especially not a guy like Easton who was no doubt a player. With the attention he got from girls, I wouldn’t be surprised if he had a long list of ex-girlfriends as well as current ones.

I guess I knew who would be the new subject of various heartbroken girls that would come to me for advice.

“You coming?” He called from over his shoulder as I snapped out of the train of thoughts that I had found myself amidst of. He gave me a short glance and waved his hand to usher me towards him before he made his way deeper into the parking lot where a couple stray cars were parked, including mine.

Letting out a deep sigh, I mentally prepared myself for the harsh reality I had just brought upon myself.

Not only had I enlisted the help of Easton, but I was now his driver at beck and call.

Not putting too much thought into what I had just done because it would only make me want to smack myself, I strode over towards Easton who was leaning against the passenger door of my car with his arms crossed across his chest.

His biceps clenched beneath his top and I couldn’t help but allow my eyes to wander over to his clenching muscles once again.

He caught my gaze and let out a husky chuckle before releasing his arms from their previous position and standing up straight.

“Does someone have a little crush on me?” Easton teased in a baby voice as he moved closer towards me. Taking a step back, I ignored my burning cheeks as I held a hand up and plastered a disgusted look across my face.

“You wish.“I scoffed loudly as I furrowed my eyebrows in mock anger.

Hell would have to freeze over before I would let Easton know that he was attractive and that I had indeed been staring at his muscles earlier.

He held his hands in surrender as he once again let out a hearty laugh. Just by looking at his expression I could tell he wanted to say more, probably tease me endlessly, but he held back as he once again leaned against the door of my car.

Ignoring the snarky response I was ready to throw at him, I put my hands on my hips as I suspiciously stared at him, “How did you know this was my car?” I slowly asked as I held onto my bag.

I had been so caught up in other things that I hadn’t realized that Easton had arrived to my car without me telling him which it was. Granted there weren’t many to choose from but still.

It was creepy.

Okay, he probably saw me standing beside it a couple times before and after school but it was entertaining to make him uncomfortable.

“Wipe that weird expression of your face, I’m not a stalker...unless of course you want me to be” He flirtatiously said as he flashed me a sly wink. I let out a huff and ignored his remark before rounding around my car and sliding into the drivers seat.

I kept the passenger side unlocked as Easton towered over my car, most likely waiting for me to open the door so he could take a seat.

I felt a devilish smile envelope my face as a brilliant idea popped into my mind.

It was time to get payback at Easton for that night of lost sleep.

Yes, I was still angry about that.

Ignoring the tapping on the window from the seat beside me, I flashed Easton a sly smile and a wave before turning the engine on. I watched as he stared at me in disbelief before backing out of the parking spot and driving off, leaving a baffled Easton in my wake.

I laughed like a mad woman as I exited the parking lot and slowly drove down the road knowing the Easton was either fuming or chuckling.

As much as I wanted to, I wasn’t actually planning on leaving him there. I just wanted to make him suffer for a little. If I wasn’t in desperate need of his help, I would happily leave him there to find his own ride home or to walk.

But that unfortunately wasn’t the case as I made a u-turn and made my way back to the school. As I pulled into the parking lot, I made my way back towards where I had last left Easton and felt a grin erupt on my face once again as I spotted Easton sitting on the curb in front of the parking space I had been in earlier.

He wore an unamused expression as he watched me pull in. I was half expecting him to make his way to the car and get in, but he remained seated as he pulled out his phone and began scrolling through it.

I’m guessing he didn’t find what I had done amusing then.

I sat in the car for another couple seconds and waited for him to get up but after seeing no movement from him, I honked the horn in hopes that it would cause him to come over.

He didn’t.

Letting out a huff, I unbuckled my seatbelt before exiting my car to go make amends with Easton who was apparently mad at me.

As soon as I approached him, I put my hands on my hips and stared down at him. He ignored my presence as he kept his gaze firmly on his phone screen. Rolling my eyes, I tapped my foot and cleared my throat.

No response.

I cleared my throat louder and let out a whistle but Easton stubbornly continued to look down.

God, he was such a child.

He could torment me all he wanted, but the moment I did it to him, he got upset.

“Easton! Okay, fine I’m sorry!” I called loudly as I kneeled down beside him. I could see a hint of a smile on his face as he ran a hand through his hair and gave me a quick glance before he continued tapping on his phone.

Snatching his phone from his grasp, I angrily looked over at him, “Are you serious! Stop being so childish, you tease me all the time but do you see me getting angry?” I asked him, irritated by his attitude.

It was silent for a couple seconds as I stood up straight and turned to make my way back to my car while mumbling profanities at him. I had barely taken any steps when I suddenly heard Easton begin to laugh loudly from behind me. Turning around to stare at him, I gave him a flat expression as he continued to guffaw from where he was seated. He pretended to wipe a tear away as he stood up straight and came towards me.

“You actually thought I was angry!” He loudly exclaimed as he once again fell into another fit of laughter. I stared at him unamused and waited for him to finish laughing while I stood there with my arms crossed.

“Hilarious.” I deadpanned as I blankly stared at him while he took a deep breath to calm himself down.

“Hey, you’re the one that left me here. I gotta give props to you though, I didn’t see that one coming.” He stated as he leaned down to pick up his gym bag. I ignored the smile that threatened to envelope my face as I held out my hand towards him so he could take back his phone.

He quickly slipped it into his pocket before looking down at me, “Shall we?” He questioned while pointing his head in the direction of the car. Nodding my head, I began to make my way towards the drivers side once again when I felt his arm grip my elbow.

“Wait, I’m driving this time.” He said as he plucked the keys out of my hands before I could digest his words.

“Hey!” I protested as I reached towards him to grab my keys. Holding it high up in the air, he shook his head at me.

“Nope, not after what you just pulled. Besides, I need to take you somewhere today so we can activate ‘Plan get over best friend’s boyfriend’.” He explained as I stopped at my attempts to take the keys from his hands.

“How do I know you won’t kidnap me?” I skeptically asked him causing him to let out an eye roll as he made his way around my car towards the drivers side.

“Sweetheart, even if I did, deep down you know you’d like that.” He said, a smirk plastered across his chiseled face.

I scoffed loudly before opening the door to the passenger side, “Like I said earlier, you wish.” I remarked as I slid onto the seat and closed the door as he got settled in.

“Yeah, I do.” He flirtatiously replied as he looked over at me with a boyish grin on his face. I didn’t respond and simply rolled my eyes at him before speaking up, “Where are you even taking me?” I asked him as he put the keys in the ignition and began to pull out of the parking space.

“We, my love, are going on a shopping spree.” He shortly said, a mischievous smile marred across his face as he made his way down the road.
