Chapter IX

Amara

The next morning I woke up in bed alone but noticed a trail of roses on the bed and floor. I got out of bed and followed the trail into the bathroom. When I walked in Kason was lighting some candles around the tub with only a towel wrapped around his waist.

“Good morning beautiful.” he said walking towards me with a smile.

“Good morning, what’s all this for?” I said giving him a quick kiss

“Thought I would be romantic today. Do you like it?” He said with a shrug and held out his hand for me to come in.

“I love it. What made you want to do that?”

“I planned a special day for us and thought I’d start it off right by fixing you a relaxing bath.”

“You did?”

“Yes I did. Join me?”

“Sure.” We sat and bathed which lead to some great morning sex while we were trying to dry off. I was ready to go again when Kason stopped my wondering hands by holding them above my head.

“As much as I want to go for round two we have breakfast reservations.” He said with a smile.

“Fine, you owe me.” I said with a huff.

“I got you baby girl.” he gave me one last toe curling kiss before going to his dresser to put on underwear.

We finished getting dressed and headed to whatever restaurant Kason had made reservations. I wasn’t expecting to see our entire bridal party seated at a table when we walked in. This only made me more curious of what Kason had been doing these past couple weeks.

“Alright someone better start telling me the truth about what’s going on. There is no way everyone decided to come into town at the same time. I may be forgetful but I’m not stupid.”

“I told you she’d catch on.” Val mumbled to Kason causing me to give him a look

“What are you talking about?”

“Well I know how much you wanted to get married before the babies were born so we are, the day after tomorrow.”

“What do you mean we’re getting married the day after tomorrow?”

“That’s the big project I’ve been working on. Surprise!”

“We’re going to elope? Our mothers will kill us.” I could already feel the headache from our mothers yelling at us f

“No, they know and so does everyone else we invited to the wedding.”

“How? We haven’t sent out invitations yet, or save the dates.”

“I had the dates changed and printed then had them sent out a few weeks ago. I saw how upset you were about the venue and decided that we would make your dream wedding come true.”

“You mean I get to have my beachfront ceremony in Anguilla?”

“Yes, all you have to do is show up and enjoy it.”

“You are one slick man Kason Miller and I love you for it.”

“I’m glad you’re happy.” We finished eating breakfast and headed to the airport. Our flight to Anguilla went pretty well, although I did sleep most of the flight. We arrived at our hotel and I couldn’t help but be in awe. When we checked into our room I gave Kason a proper thanks for getting all this done without me knowing. After showing my appreciation we took a nap together before he had to leave to meet up with his groomsmen. I got up shortly after him to start getting ready for the rehearsal dinner.

“This place is so beautiful. I can’t believe Kason planned all this so fast.” Val and I were walking the beach headed to the spot where the rehearsal dinner was being held.

“I know right, can you believe you’ll be getting married near this beach tomorrow.”

“It’s starting to sink in.”

“I want you to know that I’m happy for you Amara. What you and Kason have is what a lot of people wait their entire lives to find. I know there are some people out there that don’t want you two to be happy with each other. But you have to remember those people are out numbered by the people that support you two and the love you guys have. We all want to see your marriage thrive. As long as you two remember the friendship and love you two built on everything should fall into place.”

“I needed to hear that. Thank you for encouraging me to give Kason a chance. If it wasn’t for you I would still be looking for a potential baby daddy.”

“I can’t believe it’s been a year since you called me saying you wanted to get pregnant. I thought you had lost your mind.”

“I thought I did too. But I’m glad I took the chance on love with Kason.”

“I’m glad you did too. Alright enough with the emotional stuff, I can’t meet my future husband with mascara tears.”

“Future husband?”

“Kason promised that he’d hook me up with one of his boxing buddies when I took you dress shopping.”

“Jake is single and I heard he likes woman that have curves.”

“Set me up with that walking sex God. I swear that man can make nun want to commit sin.”

“I’ll have ask Kason if he’s still single but you can work your magic during dinner.”

“I didn’t bring my good lingerie for nothing and by the way I have something for you to wear on your honeymoon.”

“No, I doubt whatever it is will look weird with my baby bump.”

“That’s why I had a set made for my pregnant best friend, trust me Kason will love it. Now come on I have a man to catch.” I laughed at my best friend and followed her to the tent set up near the beach for the rehearsal.

“And here’s the bride and maid of honor. We’re about to get started in a few minutes.”

“We thought you two made a run for it.” My mom said laughing at us

“No. We were enjoying our last moments together before Amara becomes a married woman.”

“Now that you two are here we can get started. I need everyone in the bridal party to line up shortest to tallest. The maid of honor and best man at the end, followed by the bride and her father.”

Everyone moved to their spots and finished listening to whatever Selene wanted us to do.

“First the brides mother will walk down the aisle with the groom, followed by the grooms parents. After them will be the bridal party, best man and maid of honor. And finally after the flower girl and ring bearer wows the crowd with their cuteness. Then the bride and her father will walk down the aisle and the ceremony will begin. All we need to do is practice walking down the aisle then we can head to the rehersal dinner.”

“What’s this I hear about you setting Val up with one of your friends.” I said to Kason as we were standing at the make shift altar watching Selene put everyone in place around us.

“She volunteered to help me out and asked in return that I set her up with one of my friends. I promise not to set her up with one of the nicer guys I know. If you don’t want me to I won’t.”

“I’m fine with it babe. She deserve someone to make her happy. She thinks Jake is cute, and it helps that he’s been checking her out too. ”

“You’re better at this than me so I’ll ask him abut her later. I have to make a phone call before dinner but it won’t be long.”

“Fine, but one more phone call and I’m throwing your phone in the ocean. We’re getting married tomorrow and I don’t want you on the phone when I walk down the aisle.”

“I promise this is the last one.”

“After you guys exchange rings you kiss and walk back down the aisle. Once you get to the end of the aisle I’ll direct you to the pavillion before you guys take pictures. We’ll start with family and the bridal party then shots of the bride and groom. And finish with a large group photo and head to the reception. From there you guys enjoy your wedding night and leave in the morning for your honeymoon.

“Does this mean we can eat now? Because, I’m starving.” Tristan said rubbing his stomach

“When aren’t you hungry Tristan?”

“When I’m sleeping or having sex.”

“I can see why you and Kason get along so well.” I shook my head and went to go talk to my parents. After thanking everyone for coming and mingling with guests for a couple minutes I was ready for bed. Kason noticed and announced to everyone that we were calling it a night.

“We’re already having babies so why do we have to sleep in separate rooms?” I asked pointing at a sea shell that I liked for Kason to pick up and hold for me. It had gotten pretty hard to bend over with my baby bump so Kason told me to point at the ones I liked.

“It adds an element of surprise for tomorrow.” I could tell he was being sarcastic with his answer and didn’t like the idea either.

“How am I supposed to sleep without my pillow?”

“You’ll survive babe, if it helps I’ll try to sneak out to see you.”

“I doubt that. My parents have great hearing and I was never able to sneak out without one of them catching me.” To make sure that we followed the rules. I had the connecting room with my parents next door who happen to have super sonic hearing.

“You tried to sneak out?” he asked shocked

“Yes, you’re not the only bad ass in the relationship.”

“Is there anything else your hiding from me, rebel.”

“That tattoo on my hip was an ex-boyfriends name but I got it covered.”

“So if I asked you to tattoo my name on you, you would do it.”

“Not gonna happen.”

“Oh come on. I plan on getting your name tattooed on me, as well as the twins names.”

“I was 18 and dumb. You have something much better than a tattoo.”

“What’s that?”

“Me for the rest of your life.”

“You’re right.” he said smiling at me and pulling me in for a kiss.

“This is our last kiss as single people.”

“We’ve got an hour we could have sex for the last time as single people to.”

“Let’s do it”

I giggled as I followed him back to his room for the night.

“I’m to tired to move.” He made good on his promise and we had sex for the last time as single people. I was in total content and didn’t feel like moving from his warmth.

“Your mother keeps calling.”

“Answer it, I’m too tired to deal with her right now.”

“Hey Mrs. Simms, she’s right here sleeping. Okay, I’ll let her know. You have a nice night as well. See you in the morning.” He hung up the phone and turned to face me

“She said no funny business and that I better send you to her suit at 8AM no exceptions.”

“Yay, I get my pillow.” I smiled getting comfortable in his arms.

“Goodnight Amara Simms soon to be Miller, I love you.”

“Goodnight Kason Miller, I love you too.”
