“What? Stop joking around.” I frowned at him. I thought he was, for once, going to be serious and tell me everything he knew but look at him stating something ridiculous that doesn’t even make sense.
I’m me. I’m Phoebe.
He walked towards me slowly as if not wanting to make me annoyed. When he saw that I wasn’t acting abnormally, how shoulders straightened up and his posture returned to normal. He no longer looked like he had no control over his body.
He too a deep breath and shook his head, “I’m telling you the truth. She was you.”
My eyebrows drew together in confusion and I looked at him with uncertainty. What does he mean?
“What- what are you talking about?”
He sighed, again and muttered something under his breath. He took some steps forward and again sat down where he originally was sitting on the bed.
His head was slumped down in between his shoulders.
For some time he didn’t move and just sat down without any moments.
His three words left me rattled and I was trying to comprehend on why he was asking forgiveness.
And I found quite a good reasons; well he did literally is keeping me hostage, for scaring the crap out of me and for just simply being in this room.
“I never cheated on you.” The emotions he held actually made me shiver. His voice was thick with regret and guilt.
I lifted my hand to pat him on his shoulder, because I had no idea what to do in this type of situations.
He didn’t even notice that my hand was touching his shoulder.
“Yes. I should have told you that she was in love with me but I didn’t. I’m sorry-,”
“Silvic, uh I don’t think you are talking to the correct person.”
His eyes met mine and I was bewildered when I saw his eyes glistening. He was crying.
“Why? Why are crying?” I asked him. Confusion and worry clear in my voice. I wanted to lighten the situation but I had no idea what was happening.
“I’m crying because I have you but you don’t remember me.”
I removed my hand from his shoulder and then took a deep breath, “Silvic, listen, we just met a few days ago. Do you think I have amnesia? Because I can assure I know who are you.”
“Chandra.” He whispered, his eyes searching each corner of my face.
I gritted my teeth in annoyance, “Listen, don’t take that bitch’s name. I already have enough trouble because of the psycho.”
“She is you, Phoebe. You are Chandra.”
I felt my jaw ticking and I fisted my hands.
“How?” I screamed with all my emotions. Everything was driving me crazy and Silvic only seemed to talk in riddles. I wonder if he even knew what the fuck he was talking about.
He talked like he was high.
“Do you believe in re-incarnation?” He asked me instead. His face now blank and void of any emotions.
“I don’t know. I never thought about it.” I said, my eyebrows knitting together in confusion. I tired to keep my annoyance and anger in bay. Anger will lead me nowhere, all it will do is make me restless.
He licked his lips and then leaned closer to me, “Well here is the truth; reincarnation is an universal truth. We all had been someone different in our past life. And you Phoebe,-” he paused, his eyes travelling to each corner of my face, “Were Chandra in your past life.”
I let the newly heard information to digest in.
Should I laugh? Or should I cry?
I wasn’t sure how to react to this. Re-incarnation? Past life?
Do any of these people believe in science?
And if he was true then I was calling myself a bitch, then!?
“Okay. If she is me, then why the fuck would I disturb myself?” I questioned, my level of confusion increasing so was the level of restlessness.
Seriously, all I wanted to do was to sleep. Like sleep eternally.
He looked down, his shoulders loosening. It looked like he was tired of everything.
“I- you thought that I cheated on you.” He whispered.
I raised both my eyebrows, “Excuse me but firstly we aren’t dating so there is no way that I’ll think that--,”
“In your past life.”
I blinked, “Pardon?”
“You are my mate, Phoebe. You were. You are. You will be.”
“So that means..? Chandra was your mate?” I whispered, finally getting what he was trying to say.
“Oh God, I can’t believe, you cheated on her.. wait, you cheated on me?” I asked, widening my eyes. I couldn’t quite believe the words that were coming out of my mouth.
He shook his head, “I didn’t,” his voice cracked and than he cleared his throat, “You just assumed.” He stated dryly.
I rolled my eyes, “Okay. Now what should I do?”
“You cursed me too. So we need to break the curse.”
