Chapter 9

“Clara. I wanted to apologize about Amy. She forced herself on me and I tried to get her off of me, but she wouldn’t give up. I think she spiked my drink. And I know I deserve this, but I’m here to tell you that I love you and I don’t want to spend a waking moment without you,” he kneeled and then pulled out a ring. “I know this isn’t the ideal time or place, but will you marry me?”

“Luke, please not here. Not now. Not like this.”

“I love you. Don’t make me wait.”

“It’s not that. I’m married.”

I looked from Luke to Clara to Tyler. Clara and Tyler’s hands intertwined. She held his hand and gave it a squeeze.

“No, no, no, no,” I said slowly backing away.

“Aria, it’s not what you think.”

“STOP STAYING THAT. Leave me alone. DAMN IT Tyler! I came to you after I was hurt and you fixed me and now you’ve just hurt me again. I heard your mom talking about the arranged marriage. I thought it was your mother messing with me, but it was true. That’s not even what hurts me most, what hurts me most is that you didn’t tell me. You continued to string me on.”

“I love y-”

“Don’t say it if you don’t mean it! I know I don’t,” I shouted back.

“Oh what a lovely group,” Victoria said as she saw me in tears, “I’m sorry I had to interrupt you two, but this young whore came down banging down the door.”

“I-I just need to leave,” I told Luke. Luke replied with a nod.

“Don’t leave. Not yet. Let me explain,” Tyler tried to explain.

“No no. Let her go. She’s a bloody slut. She’s a gold-digger and she’s trying to use you.”

“Luke,” I repeated. As we turned around, I laid my head onto Luke’s shoulder and started to cry. He wrapped his arm around me.

“No, Aria. I need you. Don’t cry. Please,” Tyler said.

Luke lifted his arm from my shoulder and stuck his middle finger up towards Tyler.

When we reached the hotel, I collapsed onto the bed and refused to get up.

“Hey A, do you wanna go grab something to eat? It’s almost 5.”

“No. Go without me.” The one guy I trusted and he had broke me.

“Please come out with me. I need some arm candy. No girl will find me a attractive without you. Plus you can find some cute guy.”

“I don’t want ‘some’ cute guy. I want Tyler.”

“How about for me? I need to find some new girl to replace Clara.”

“Fine. Fine.” I got up.

“You are not coming out looking like that. Do that thing that makes girls look pretty.”

“What? Are you saying I’m not pretty?”

“You know that’s not what I was saying. Come on.”

“Fine. Just give me 15 minutes or so.” I grabbed my flat iron and make up bag and entered the bathroom. After curling my hair, I applied some eyeliner and eye shadow to create a smokey eye effect. Then put on a light pink lip gloss. I grabbed my little black dress and stepped out of the bathroom. “There. That better?”

“Whoa, Aria. You look.. whoa.” Luke said looking me up and down. He was wearing a white collared shirt with a black pinstripe vest and black jeans.

“Shall we?” I asked.

“Hm..Uh... Wait, what? Yeah.” Luke replied. I grabbed my black clutch and we left.

“Where are we going?” I asked.

“Liquid and Envy.”

“Sounds... interesting. I guess.”

We reached there in about ten minutes or so. As we entered, a couple of guys crowded around me.
