Chapter 9

As soon as we arrived home from school I ran to the back of the pack house and stripped out of my clothes. I jumped into the air as I shifted into my wolf. I was like my mother. Except where her wolf was black with white paws, mine was white with black paws. Unusual, but that’s how fate had it.

Running into the woods I felt free. The birds were singing above me and there was the occasional scurry of little paws on the earth below my feet. My bigger paws punded against the ground as I ran. I needed to clear my head and running was my escape.

A few minutes later another wolf was running beside me. I knew immediately that it was Noah. Even though my wolf was pretty large his was larger. His black wolf was nearly double the size as mine.

**Mind if I join you?** He asked through the mind link. I didnt bother answering. He wouldnt leave if I said no, anyway. I picked up speed and darted around the trees in my way, knowing that he would be able to keep up with me, but he chose to hang back a bit. I could feel his gaze on my wolfs ass.

**Stop looking at my ass!** I exclaimed. I could almost hear his chuckle through the link and I could picture the smirk that would be on his gorgeous face.

**But I like your ass.** He came began to run beside me again.

I rolled my eyes and stopped running when I reached my destination. I looked at the clearing. It looked exactly as it had the first time I came here when I had been running away from rogues. It had became my thinking place over the days I’d spent here.

**Direct your eyes.** I told Noah.

**Directing eyes.** He replied.

I shifted back into my human form and turned around to see him looking at me, back in his human form as well and I quickly turned back around, the speed almost giving me whiplash.

“I told you to direct your eyes.”

“I did. I directed them at you.” He said and I could tell he was smirking that annoying smirk of his. He walked closer to me and I freezed. We were both naked. In the woods. By a lake. Alone. I knew what I had to do now...

I ran and jumped into the ice cold lake. After a few seconds the cold was replaced with warmth as I felt a pressence behind me. Noah wrapped his arms around my waist, hugging me to him.

Turning around in his arms, I looked up at him through my lashes. I could feel his hard manhood pressing agaisnt my thigh. I could tell he could feel my own arousal as he sucked in a sharp breath.

Cupping my cheek with his hand he brushed my cheek in a gentle manner, before running his hands through my long wet hair.

“So godamn beautiful.” He whispered.

I blushed. I had never found myself pretty, I always felt like trash agaisnt other girls. I was nothing compared to Stephanie, Marlee and Mel. They were gorgeous with their nice bodies and everything. They had nice boobs, mine were puny. They had amazing curves. Yeah, I had a few. Their hair was nice, mine was always getting in the way. Their eyes always looked alive, mine looked dull. The only thing wrong with Stephanie and Marlee were that they acted like they ruled everyone. But, the thing I was jealous of most: they were experienced.

“What are you thinking about?” Noah asked, concerned. His eyes looked like they were staring into my soul. It was like he was looking right through me.

“Nothing.” I replied, looking down.

Noah lifted my chin up, forcing me to look at him. “Don’t lie to me, love.”

“I-I don’t know why you would want m-me.” It was barely a whisper, but I knew he heard.

It wasnt until he started wiping my cheeks that I noticed that I was crying. The tears making tracks down my cheeks.

“Sshh, baby. What do you mean you don’t know why I want you? You are perfect in every single way. Shape and form. You are beautiful. You’re eyes are enticing and just your gaze is alurring. Your hair is gorgeous and if I could run my fingers through the blond strands all day, I would. Even though your body is damn sexy that is not what I love the most. What I love the most is your personality, and that is new for me. Your personality... there are no words. It is truly amazing. You are kind and caring, you do help people even if you don’t fully know them. Daniel told me what happened with you and Stephanie the other night. You helped Lucien and you didnt even know him and everyone respects and loves you for that.” He pauses. “I respect and love you for that. I feel stupid that I could have slept through that. I should have been there, protecting you. You could have been hurt, but I was f*cken sleeping.”

“I-” I start.

“No, i’m not finsished.” He stops. “I knew the moment I met you, that you would change me. And you have. I don’t want to be the player I was before. I want to be the person you want me to be. I know we don’t know each other that much, but I want to. I want to know you. Will you go out with me tonight? Not a date, just out?” He asks. I could tell that everything he said was true and I believed him. I trusted him.

“Okay.” I replied. “But, first... let’s swim.”

***

(Noah’s POV)

I’d meant every word I said to Radiance. I would change for her. I wanted to change for her. I no longer wanted to be my player self. I wanted to be the person she wanted me to be.

I waited downstairs and hung out with Dominic and Chris as I waited for Radiance to get ready. We were sitting playing COD MW3 (Call of Duty, Modern Warfare) on the X-box and Dom was getting angry because he always managed to die ten seconds into the game. It was then that I caught her scent. It was like lime and citris. It was captivating. I breathed it in and the lust started to build in my chest. Shaking my head I blocked out all the dirty thoughts that were beginning to run through my head.

I turned around and finally looked at her. She wore a purple pastel dress. (Pic on the side cause I can’t describe it very good--->) and it looked amazing on her curvy body.

I stood and walked over to her like I was in a trance. It sure as hell felt like it. Her hair was piled on top of her head in a bun with a few strands framing her face. Her eyes seemed to pop out under the mascara and eye-liner. She didnt need makeup, really. She was already beautiful.

“You look gorgeous, love.” I told her. And she did.

She blushed and looked down. It seemed she always did that when she was embarrased.

“Ready to go?” I ask.

“Yep.” She answered, cheerfully, popping the ‘p’.

“Great.” I said, taking her hand and leading her to my car. I pulled her back when she was about to open the door. She looked up at me with confusion.

“A gentleman opens the ladies door.” I said in a ‘duh’ tone.

She giggled. “Yeah, but I can open it myself.”

“What kind of person would I be if I let you do that.” I asked in mock horror.

She laughed and accidently snorted. She gasped covering her mouth. A few seconds later we were both doubled over, laughing. After catching our breath we looked at each other before bursting out laughing again.

“I like this side of you.” Radiance whispered, so softly I just barely caught it.

“I do, too.” I replied. She seemed shocked that I’d replied, but smiled. “Come on, let’s go.”

She nodded and hopped into the car, still smiling. Her smile was contagious and I smiled as well. I liked seeing her happy. I wanted her to always be happy.

I ran around to the drivers side of the car and hopped in. I drove down the long drive way and turned left when I saw the part in the trees. Heading down the other gravel road I kept driving through the woods. When I saw the waterfall I stopped the car.

“Stay right there.” I told Radiance.

Running around to the passenger side I opened her door. “My lady.” I waved my hand to the side in a ‘after you’ gesture. She hopped out of the car and looked at the site. On the grass beside the waterfall i’d set up a blanket with a few candles and food was decked out on the blanket. There were three big cushions on the blanket as well so we could sit or lay down.

I took Radiance’s hand and led her over to the blanket. She hadn’t said anything since we’d arrived.

“What do you think?” I asked, nervously. I ran a hand through my hair, I did that a lot when I was stressed or nervous.

She didnt say anything for a while. I begun to think she wouldnt. “It’s beautiful.” She finally murmured, looking at me. I could hear the truth in her voice.

I let out the breath I didn’t know I’d been holding. Not as beautiful as you, I thought. She blushed, as if she had heard me. “Yeah, it is. My mum and I always bring Indie here. She loves it. The water, the space, the serenity. I like it, too.”

Radiance smiles. Before she can say anything, her stomach rumbles. We laugh.

“Hungry?”

She nods.

We both take a seat on the blanket and dig into the food. There was cake, chocolate, sweets, chips, fizzy. But there was also the food that you would have everyday.

“Who made the cake?” She asked after a while.

“My mum. But in my defense I helped.” I quickly defended myself.

“Sure, with what? The derections?” She jokes.

“Um, maybe. But that’s helping.” I grin. “Let’s play a game.” I say.

She raises a brow. “What type of game?”

“Twenty questions.” I say and explain it to her. Saying one person asks the other a question, but they both answer it. Then the other does the same to the first asker and they repeat it til they reach twenty questions.

“Okay.” She agrees. I quickly get my backpack out of the car and take out to lined books and two pens, handing a book and a pen to her.

“What’s your favourite colour?” I ask first.

“Really? You can ask anything you want and THAT”S what you ask?” She replies.

“I’m starting with the easy stuff first.” I shrug.

She writes down her answer and I answer mine. Green.

“What’s your full name?” She asks. Noah Leo Maxwell.

“Do you have any piercings or tattoos?” I ask. I had a barbell on my nipple. I also had a tattoo on my shoulder blade of a paw print.

“What’s your favourite food?” She asks me writing hers down. I write my own. My mums apple pie.

“Who’s your favourite artist or band?” A Rocket to the Moon.

“How many girls have you slept with?” She asks and I look up at her. She looked nervous. Like she did but didnt want to know. I wrote my answer: A lot.

“Who was your first kiss?” I say. She writes down her answer. I write down mine: Julie Fisher.

“What is the thing you regret the most?” She asks. That question hit a spot in me. It was the reason I was the player I was. There was a girl that I had really liked. Amanda Joy. We had been friends since kindergarden. We saw each other everyday and when I was sixteen, I asked her out. I was so happy when she said yes. I was so naive. I loved her, thinking she loved me back. I thought wrong.

One day after football practise coach told me I had to pick up the cones he left on the field. I was taking them back to the locker room, because that’s where we kept them, when I heard the moaning. I immideately had known it was hers. I’d heard it before when I was with her. I heard a male grunt and heard her scream out in pleasure, ‘Faster, baby, faster.’ I opened the door of the locker room to see her there, doing it with my best friend. Nothing could have prepared me for what I had seen that day.

I had stopped believing in love and had became the player I was. But, Radiance changed that. I knew that she loved me, even if she was still afraid of admiting it to me, and to herself. But it was there.

I wrote down my answer. “What is your best memory?” I ask. Here. Just hanging out with my family.

“What are your dreams for the future?” She asks. You. I scrawled on the paper.

“Do you want kids?” Someday.

“When was the first time you went skinny dipping?” She asked. When I was a baby. I was very naughty.

“Have you ever drank acohol?” Yes.

“Have you ever smoked?” No.

“What is the most exhilarating thing you’ve ever done?” I ask. Running around the pack border.

“Do you have any PJ’s with animals on them?” She asks with a cheeky smile. Hell no... Okay, one pair. With monkeys. What? They’re cool.

“Ever done anything illegal?” No.

“How many times do you masturbate?”

“Tsk, tsk. Dirty girl. You know you have to answer that as well.” I said. She paled, but nodded. Three times a week average.

“Favourite feature?” I ask. Mine would be my abs. Yes, I’m a ab boy.

“Do you like me? How much?” She asks as if she didnt already know. How could she not. Didnt she know that I was head over heals for her? I answered her question. “Okay, now give me your paper and I’ll give you mine.”

“What?!” She asked.

“That’s the game. You read the other persons answers. Now give.” I say and she hands it over. I give her mine. I hear her laugh and I guess she read the one about my mums apple pie.

I could feel the cursiousity when she read about Amanda.

I looked down at her answers.
