Chapter 16: You're Going To Be Okay

Noah drove me to his house, where Tristan was waiting.

He helped me with the bags and we walked in.

I didn’t need to be introduced to the housekeeper because Noah had flown Mrs. Trenton and her family here.

As soon as she saw me, she hugged me.

I sent a grateful smile to Noah and he gave a quick nod.

“You must be exhausted, sweetheart. I’ll show you to your room.” Mrs. Trenton spoke.

“Where’s Tristan?”

“His room is a few doors away from yours. You can see him when we get up there.”

I followed her to the room and placed my bags inside.

It was cosy and inviting. A huge headboard adorned one wall with a bed that looked so comfy, pushed up against it. There was a small ottoman seat at the end of the bed and a vanity table on the opposite wall. Next to that were two doors. The en-suite here almost put the one in London to shame.

I then went straight to Tristan’s room.

He was laid on the bed, asleep.

His room was more masculine. A lot of wood was present. His bed was made of dark oak and the surrounding furniture matched. The colours in here consisted of white and deep blues.

I went towards his bed and sat down carefully, not to wake him.

I just watched for a while, thinking about everything and what would happen next.

The severity of the situation was only just beginning to hit me.

After a while, I stood up and left.

Softly shutting the door, I just stood in the hallway.

Noah came up.

I hadn’t realised I was crying until he pulled me into a hug.

“How can someone be there one minute and then just be gone?” I cried into his chest.

He just held me while I broke down.

When he felt me calm down a little, he cradled my face in his hands and wiped the tears away.

He led me to my room where he sat me on the bed and pulled the covers over me.

“You’re going to be okay, Blake. I’ll make sure of it.” he whispered, as my eyes started shutting.

NOAH’S POV

I sat at my desk going through the classified files.

My mind has been completely on Blake these past few days and its driving me crazy.

I heard her panicking from her office.

What on earth is going on?

I ran to her and heard her side of the conversation on the phone.

It was to do with her mom being in the hospital.

A few minutes later her brother arrived and I knew what had happened.

We went to the hospital and I took care of Tristan.

“What’s taking so long? When will we hear something?” he was pacing the room.

“I’m sure your sister will be back soon.” I put my hand on his shoulder to try calm him down.

That was when she came back.

Instantly I knew.

Her mom was gone.

Tristan ran to her and she held him while he cried.

After the police left, they started talking about what they were going to do now and I didn’t even need to think about it.

“You’re both coming to live with me.”

She tried to get out of it but this way I know both her and her brother are safe.

When we got back to my place, she saw Mrs. Trenton.

They hit it off in London and I knew Blake would need someone like her during all of this.

I’d just come out of my office after making some calls, one to Jamieson and a few others.

She was standing outside her brothers door with tears streaming down her face.

I pulled her into my arms and held her while she cried.

When she calmed a little, I wiped the tears away.

Her beautiful eyes still glistened with tears.

Getting her to her room, I put her into her bed and she started drifting off.

" You’re going to be okay, Blake. I’ll make sure of it.”

And I meant it.
