Chapter 20: Aftermath

Today I was back at work.

Back to a routine and back to my friends, who were trying everything to cheer me up.

I woke up feeling completely out of sorts and it was messing with my head.

I was walking around like everything was fine on the outside but inside my whole being was screaming.

I had finished all the work by 4.15pm and went to see if Noah was ready to go.

Knocking on his door, he called me in.

He gave one of his gorgeous heart stopping smiles as I stepped in.

“Hey, are you ready to go?”

“Actually I’ve told Mike, my driver to take you home. I’ve got some more work to do here.” he answered.

“Okay. Thanks.”

“Are you okay?” it was like he was looking at my soul which was a little scary.

“Yeah, I’ll see you later.” I said, walking out.

I didn’t believe it when she said she was okay.

It played on my mind the whole time I was working.

Something was off.

I got in the car and drove home. When I got there, Tristan was in the living room.

“Where’s Blake?”

“She’s been in her room since she got back.” he answered, still watching the TV.

I knocked on her door but after no reply, I walked in.

Nothing. But then I saw the bathroom door closed.

I was going to wait but again, something felt off about this.

Knocking again, there was no answer.

I turned the handle but it was locked.

I started pounding on the door.

“Blake! Open the door!”

Kicking it down, I found her on the floor.

There was blood everywhere and a blade next to her.

I ran and held her. I tried to put pressure on the wounds while I called the ambulance.

“Noah, what’s going on?” I heard Tristan call out.

“Don’t come in here, Tris! Wait downstairs and let the paramedics in!” He wouldn’t be able to cope seeing this.

I kept trying to wake her up but she wouldn’t.

The paramedics arrived quickly and bandaged her arms.

They took her in the ambulance and I drove with Tristan.

We were asked to wait outside while they did what was needed.

We walked in to see her lying on the bed.

She was so pale. The doctor told me she had lost a lot of blood and they had to do a transfusion to save her.

We sat by the bedside for a while, until I sent Tristan home. Mrs Trenton was waiting for him.

I stayed with Blake.

I don’t know when I started feeling so protective over her or when I stopped fucking a random girl every night but it happened.

I cared for her and Tristan.
