Chapter 36: Taken

Me, Kira and Brett decided to take a shopping trip.

We traipsed the mall for ages, going in and out of stores.

With arms full of bags we headed for food.

We stopped at the food court for a break.

“So, how’s it going with you and bossman?” Kira asked.

“Good. Really good actually.” I laughed.

“I don’t know whether to be proud or grossed out that our girl is no longer a prude.” Brett commented.

“Shut up!” I stuck my tongue out at him.

“Do you love him?” Kira asked.

I’m not going to lie, I have thought about it quite a bit so I knew the answer.

“Yeah. I do actually.”

Kira and Brett had the biggest smiles on their faces.

We chatted some more before I had to pee.

Dismissing myself from the table, I went to bathroom.

Once I’d finished up, I walked out.

A second later I had hands over my mouth with a cloth. I tried to get them off and during the struggle, I managed to scratch the person but that still didn’t do anything to get them off me.

Darkness consumed me pretty quickly.

I was at the office in a meeting when my phone rang.

It was Kira.

I knew they were out having fun so I didn’t answer the first time.

When she called again straight away, I walked out of the meeting.

“This better be good, Kira.”

“Blake is gone!” she shouted into the phone.

“What do you mean, gone?!”

“She went to the bathroom and when she didn’t come back, I went to check on her. She wasn’t there and her bracelet and her phone were on the floor outside the bathroom.” she panicked.

God, no!

I called Jamieson and he arrived in 15 minutes.

He had got hold of the CCTV from the mall.

Pressing play we watched until we saw her go into the bathroom and then come back out.

Someone came up behind her but they had a hoodie on so we couldn’t see who it was.

They put a cloth over her face and she struggled. She was fighting. That’s my girl!

But she slowly started to slow her struggles until she was out.

The person picked her up and carried her away out of range of the cameras.

“Where are they?!”

“There.” Jamieson pointed to one of the cameras.

One of the back entrance ones had caught them.

They put her in a car before turning towards the camera.

Pulling the hood down, it was someone I knew very well.

That son of a bitch!

I slowly started to regain consciousness.

I was in some kind of warehouse.

How cliché! I rolled my eyes.

I was tied to a damn chair.

“Where are you, you son of a bitch? Come in here and show me who you are!” I shouted.

The door opened and the light was blinding.

At first I couldn’t see who it was.

They came and stood right in front of me.

“Hello again Blake, I told you I’d take that raincheck.”

I looked at the devious face of Alex Carter.
