Chapter 9: Wifey
Waking up, I realised I had the weekend off.
A knock on the door revealed Mrs. Trenton.
“Morning Blake, breakfast will be ready at 9.30.”
“Ok thank you.”
I jumped into the shower and then picked out my outfit for today. With a baggy crocheted sweater, blue faded, ripped jeans and some black loafers on my feet, I grabbed my bag and went downstairs.
I don’t know what Mr. Anderson had planned today but I wasn’t going to spend all day inside.
Walking into the kitchen, there were multiple surprises.
First of all the amount of food Mrs Trenton had made and the variety.
But most of all, Mr. Anderson sat at the island.
“Good morning, Miss Price.”
“Good morning, Sir.”
He frowned at that but didn’t say anything until Mrs Trenton was out of earshot.
“Could you stop with the Sir now?”
“What else am I meant to call you?” I asked, confused.
He seemed to perk up more at that.
During breakfast, I asked Mrs Trenton if there was anywhere close by that I could go today and she started to tell me about a park near here but Noah cut her off.
“We already have plans for today.”
“Oh really? And what would that be? When were you planning on giving this information?” my sass decided to show itself.
“In reply to all of your questions, yes, sightseeing, dress shopping, party. And I was going to tell you right now.” he sassed back. He even tried to imitate my voice!
“Sightseeing, fair enough but dress shopping and party? What’s that about?”
“There’s a formal function this evening for a friend of mine, we will be going and you need a dress.”
“I have dresses.”
“No arguments Miss. Price. I will be buying you a dress for tonight’s function and that is the end of it.” He stood up and walked out.
I sat there gobsmacked.
“I told you he’s a handful.” Mrs. Trenton said, making me jump.
“Payback!” she laughed, making me laugh with her.
A few minutes later, we were in the car being whisked into the centre of London to sightsee.
We went to a lot of places.
We went to Westminster, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and the London Eye to name a few. We even went to the top of The Shard. That is some bucket list stuff!
We stopped for lunch in a really nice little cafe and throughout the whole day, I actually learnt a few things about him.
I also told him about my dad. I don’t know why, but I just felt comfortable around him.
Now we were on the way to an extremely fancy dress shop. How I knew it was fancy?
I can’t even pronounce the name!
The dresses were gorgeous though.
Walking in, the sales lady came tottering over.
“Hello, how can I help you today?” she asked Noah, completely ignoring me.
Without missing a beat, he answered, “My fiancée needs a dress for a formal function tonight. Money is no object as long as she’s happy.”
My jaw was on the floor as was the sales lady.
“Of course, if you’d follow me please, ma’am?”
“Off you go, wifey.” he pushed me forward and sat down in the waiting area.
What the hell just happened?
I’d been in and out of dresses for 2 hours and I was about to say ‘fuck it’ and run until she brought the last one out and I slipped it on.
It was perfect!
Noah asked to see it but hell no!
After what he put me through out there, he can wait!
