Chapter 15

It has been a month since I last saw the Master. He didn’t call or ask for me since that day. Oliver or Madam Lennie never mentioned anything about him in front of me, except about his meal. Oliver agreed to take the Master’s food instead of me and he didn’t ask any more question. He was still very helpful.

The Master’s quietness didn’t make me stop wanting him. It only made me miss him too damn much. I thought I could do it, I thought I could live and work in the mansion unbothered, but each passing day, I hoped that somehow he would call me. I wouldn’t mind if it’s with the shitty telephone again. I just wanted to hear his voice one more time. All I could do was stare at his painting in the living room.

I cooked steak and mushrooms this time. Knowing that he was eating the food I was cooking for him somehow made me think that we were still connected. I garnished the plate with steamed broccoli and poured a small amount of white sauce on the side. I even thought of making a heart shape on the plate, but I shook off the ridiculous thought away. I should stop thinking this way anymore or I would end up hurting myself.

I remembered the sole purpose why I was hired for this job in the first place. Aside from being a cook, the Master didn’t ask for Annette’s address up until now. I was still wondering why he still hadn’t. How was he going to look for her when he couldn’t even come out of his room?

A light knock on the door interrupted my thoughts. It was Oliver.

“Hi,” he greeted with a smile.

“Oh, hi!” I smiled back. “You can bring this to the Master now,” I told him.

“It’s Sunday today you know,” he reminded me.

“Oh, is it?” I checked for my smartphone screen and I checked the date, “Oh right, I didn’t notice.”

He grinned, shaking his head, “It’s okay. I could just tell him that I cooked that, but unfortunately, he will know the taste.”

“We could just um…eat it,” I bit my lower lip.

“You still owe me a weekend,” he suddenly said.

He chuckled softly, “I promised you a tour a month ago, but you seem occupied this past few week.”

“Oh,” I looked at him, “I totally forgot. You didn’t ask me,”

He shrugged, then he folded his arms across his chest, “I was actually waiting for you to ask me.”

I laughed, “But it’s already afternoon so… I think we can’t go around Manhattan today.”

“Why don’t we just go out tonight? I know a place.”

My mouth parted, “Are you serious?”

“Yeah,” he nodded. “Come on, it’s going to be fun.”

“Where exactly do you plan on taking me?” I asked.

“Okay, this may sound so unlike me, but I’m going to take you to a club. You know… dancing, cocktails?”

I blinked, slightly surprised. “You do stuff like that?”

He grinned, “Of course. Why not?”

“Okay.” I exhaled a soft breath, “I’ll go with you. I should probably get dressed now.”

“Sure. I’ll wait for you at the gate,” he said with a wink.

I nodded, “Okay.”

A white Bugatti Veyron was already parked outside the gate when I came out. Oliver was leaning on the car, looking different in his black leather jacket, ripped jeans and a topsider. He seemed casually dressed this time, but he still managed to look expensive. It was the first time I’d seen him in different clothes besides his chef uniform.

I looked down at myself. It was definitely nothing like his. There was no sense of fashion in my outfit. I should’ve chosen something more appealing than a white shirt with a “you rock the dancefloor" print, a denim jacket, black jeans, and sneakers.

“Hi,” I greeted, getting his attention. He was currently frowning on his smartphone.

Oliver looked up, “Oh, hey,” he greeted back with his signature grin. He swiftly put away his phone and then he attentively opened the door of the passenger side, “Hop in,” he said.

“Oh, thanks!” I stepped into the car then he slammed the door. Oliver turned then get into the driver seat. I jolted in surprise when I suddenly felt Oliver’s arm brushed over my stomach.

“Relax! I’m just going to put your seatbelt on.” he chuckled, then he buckled up my seatbelt. Afterward, he secured himself.

I laughed nervously, “Thank you.” I should probably get used by his gentle gestures.

“Alright. Are you ready?”

I nodded, “Yes.”

He beamed and then he gunned down the car engine.

Oliver brought me to a nightclub, but it was never like I’d seen before. It was absolutely classy. Though it was still a bit smoky inside, I actually loved the atmosphere. The disco lights were twirling all over the place. The remixed pop and rock music surprisingly didn’t hurt my ears. It was actually making me want to dance. The people were obviously having fun on the dance floor at the club’s lower ground level.

Oliver and I came upstairs which was conspicuously for the VIPs. Of course, Oliver wouldn’t come to the place if there wasn’t a place for a person like him. Expectedly, the VIP level was impressively tamed than the other floors.

“Do you usually come here?” I asked.

“Yes. Are you surprised?”

“Well... not really, maybe just a little bit.” I smiled.

“Come, my usual place it out there—”

“Hey, Oliver!” A blonde attractive lady in red dress walking towards us suddenly called him. She waved her hand.

“Oh, hi! How are you, Jenny?” He greeted back.

“I’m good,” she nodded, “It’s a great night. Have a nice time!” she said, then she left a gentle touch on his shoulder before she continued to walk with her swaying sexy butt.

As we walked through, another man in a brown jacket appeared on Oliver’s side.

“Oliver? Is that you?”

“Hans?” He frowned, taking a good look at the guy.

“Yes, it’s me! What’s up, man?”

Oliver grinned as he recognizes his friend, “I’m good. How about you? I thought you’re in Singapore?”

“Yes, I came back yesterday. Oh, let’s catch up. My girlfriend is downstairs.”

“I’ll catch up with you later. I have company,” he told them.

Hans glanced at me, “Oh, I see. Well then, come by to our table later, man. It’s good to see you.”

He nodded, “It’s good to see you too,” he replied. Oliver patted his friend’s back then we continued to walk away.

We sat on the black leather couch near the end corner where it wasn’t too loud, but it was also a bit warm. Oliver took his leather jacket off, leaving only his white shirt. Presently, I was glad to see a different side of Oliver. He was usually a very composed man yet he seemed to know how to have fun outside the Master’s world.

“It’s warmer here but this is my favorite spot. You should take your jacket off. You may not need it when you go to the dance floor,” he said then he winked.

“Oh, of course,” I acknowledged then I took my jacket off.

“Do you want something to eat or drink?”

“Do they have orange juice?” I asked.

He chuckled, “Of course, but promise me to drink something else later, okay? I’ll get you some. Wait for me here.”

“Sure,” I grinned. “Oh! And bring me strawberries. Please?”

“Sure.” he nodded then he left.

I waited for Oliver for fifteen minutes but he didn’t come back. I just watched the people passing by in front of me and the ambiance was starting to get dreary. I was also beginning to worry. Did he got stuck up on the dance floor? Did someone spill juice on his shirt? Or was he in the restroom? I wondered where was he now. I exhaled a sharp breath.

I was already going to look for him when I suddenly heard a familiar voice.

I looked up, “Cassius?” I frowned. I wasn’t sure if I was seeing things but he did not disappear. It was really him when he stepped forward then the light revealed his face. I gasped at the sight of him. He was gorgeous as hell than the I first saw him. I noticed that his fashion taste was similar to his older brother Oliver. He was wearing a black coat and black dress shirt, unbuttoned on the chest part, exposing his smooth hard rock pecs. A red patterned scarf was effortlessly hanging around his shoulders. His biceps seemed so luscious, I even imagined clinging my arms around it. I looked away quickly. What the hell was I thinking? I was literally drooling over this man.

I noticed a small grin was playing in lips. He placed a glass of orange juice and a plate of sliced strawberries in front of me.

“Why are you bringing this instead of Oliver?” I tried to sound flat. I didn’t want to be obvious that I was actually attracted to him.

He shrugged then he found a place next to me. A sigh of relief came out of his mouth as he sat, “Probably having fun on the dance floor with his future wife,” he said. He was holding a glass of drink in his hand.

“His fiancée came?”

“Yes. He’s occupied so he asked me to join you,” he flashed out a sexy grin.

“Oh, I thought—”

“Disappointed?” he asked.

“No! Of course not. I shouldn’t have come if I knew.”

“Jealous?” He asked and then he drank the glass of his liquor straight.

“No. Why would I? I’m not even interested in him.”

“Relax, I’m just kidding.” Cassius put down his glass then he picked a strawberry and popped it in his mouth.

I rolled my eyes, “Ugh. It’s not funny.”

He smirked, “I heard you stopped seeing Brandon.”

“I don’t want to talk about it.” I snapped.

“Hmm, well…it’s probably for the best. I should just look for another way to cure him without involving other people,” he said. “I’m sorry about the last time.”

I sighed, “No…It’s more on he stopped seeing me.” I shifted my face to his side.

“You’ll be fine.”

“I am better than fine,” I told him then I exhaled, “before I met him. I am better than fine.”

He let out a delicious laugh. “Okay, this night was supposed to be about having fun. Do you want to dance?”

“Are you asking me to dance?” I laughed softly.

“Yes. I think I am. Come.” Cassius stood up then he grabbed my hand. We came down to the lower level. He took me to the dance floor where the people were dancing, screaming, jumping and drinking. Cassius was already beginning to wiggle his shoulders. The smile didn’t fade in his lips as he was gently pulling me in the middle, but his arms were protecting me so I wouldn’t bump on other people. A song by Calvin Harris was playing in the air.

I feel so close to you right now, it’s a force field.
I wear my heart upon my sleeve, like a big deal.
Your love pours down on me surround me like a waterfall.
And there’s no stopping us right now, I feel so close to you right now.

Cassius slipped his arms around my waist, pulling me closer. His chest pressed against mine and he was staring at me as if I was the most desirable woman alive. He took off the scarf from his shoulders then he hanged it around my neck. “The dance floor is cold,” he whispered softly, sounding like it was an erotic word. His hand lowered down, then he started swaying his hips. “Dance with me,” he said.

I started moving my hips in accord with his rhythm.

And there’s no stopping us right now.
And there’s no stopping us right now.
And there’s no stopping us right now.
I feel so close to you right now.

I slowly moved my hands to his stomach then I started gliding my fingertips along his stomach, trying to feel the firmness of his abs. Then, I let my hands travel up to his chest then I gently slid my hands on the skin of his chest. He felt so good, I was already squirming between thighs. I bit my lower lip hard while palms feasting on his gloriousness. Cassius was watching me intently and I found the need in his eyes. I slipped my arms to his neck.

This was something I cannot do with Brandon. Something I won’t ever experience with him.

“Hmm,” I hummed.

“This is probably the most sinful thing I have ever done in my life,” he whispered in my ear that made me shiver.

“Why is it?” I whispered back.

“You can’t deny the sexual tension between us Alayna. I can feel it. You are attracted to me,” he pointed out.

“I’m not denying,” I told him.

He chuckled softly, “And yet, you are still Brandon’s girl.”

“He doesn’t own me.”

“I can see that you are still his.”

“Can you just stop talking and at least finish one full song?” I snapped.

“I plan on dancing with you more than one song. At least just this night.”

Cassius spun me around so my back was pressed on his chest. He slithered his hands around my stomach, “Brandon was a good dancer too,”

“I don’t care. He’s not going to dance with me. If we are going to talk about him all night. I think we should stop.” I paused then tried to take his hands away, but he didn’t let me. He spun around me again and this time, his mouth was only an inch away from mine. I gasped an air. He smelled so good

“I’m sorry,” he breathed. “I won’t mention him again.”

“Good. Then let’s continue this amazing time! Wooo!”

When we came back to our table but there was still no sight of Oliver. We couldn’t find him on the dance floor or anywhere on the VIP area. He was probably with his girlfriend or maybe he went home without me. He could’ve just called or texted me that he was leaving.

“I’ll take you home,” Cassius said.

“Are you sure?”

“Don’t worry. I won’t come in. Brandon would be furious.”

My shoulders fell. I guess I had no choice. “I’m so sorry Cassius. I didn’t know much about this place.”

“Even if you know, I won’t let you go home alone,” he smirked.

“Thank you, it was fun,” I told him.

“You’re welcome. Can we do this again?”

“Of course. Sunday is my free day.”

“Another Sunday then. I will take you somewhere else. I don’t really know why Oliver took you here,” he chuckled. “This is his usual place, but this isn’t for a girl like you.”

“Why not? I am not allowed to have fun?”

He chuckled, “It’s not what I mean. You can come here as much as you want, but never come here alone.”

“Why not? It was fine.” I shrugged.

“Yes, but there are really bad guys in here. You wouldn’t want to encounter one. And since it’s getting late, I think I should take you home now.”

“Oh, of course. I’ll just go to the restroom first. I really need to pee.”

He let out a soft laugh, “Sure. I’ll wait for you here.”

I came down the lower ground floor then went into the restroom to ease my squirming core. My undergarment felt slightly damp because I just had the sexiest and arousing dance I could remember. I didn’t even have sex with him nor even kiss him, but I was totally turned on. I hurriedly came out because I didn’t want Cassius to wait. I headed to stairs when I suddenly bumped into someone.

“Aww!” I touched my forehead, then tried to look up to the person who abruptly stopped in front of me.

“Going somewhere?” asked the familiar melodious voice I’d ever heard in my whole life. It was the voice I’d missed the past few weeks. I thought I was dreaming, but it was real. He was here.

I wanted to get tanked-up and stop worrying about Alayna. But damn, the alcohol just won’t affect me. It was the second bottle of scotch I’d been drinking, but I still felt nothing. I frowned at my wristwatch to check the time. It was already passed two o’clock. Why the fuck was she still outside at this hour? She was probably dancing with another man in my own fucking club.

What else could I do? Was that the life she was hoping for? Go outside and dance in a club with another man? Was this the price of everything I couldn’t do for her? Did she already choose this path? Was everything I fought for the past month was all for nothing? I almost died by fighting against myself. Was everything I worked hard for was just all going to waste?

A knock on the door interrupted my thoughts. I opened immediately hoping to see Alayna.

“Brandon?” it was really Oliver but he was alone. He stepped inside the house.

My jaw twitched, clenching my fists. “Where is she?”

“She’s with Cassius. My girlfriend came.”

Girlfriend? When did he have a girlfriend? But that wasn’t the most important now. “Why did you left her with him?” I asked tightly.

“I asked my brother to come so she won’t be alone,” Oliver explained.

“But that’s the problem Ollie, I don’t trust Cassius,” I told him.

“Are we going to argue about this?” he asked, his voice sounded gravelly.

“Bring her here or I will,” I warned.

“Will you please calm down?” Oliver faced me, “You said you’re not going to do anything until you can finally face her. Cassius won’t do anything to her,” he insisted.

“Do you think I would just sit back and let her alone with him while he’s grinding his dick on her?”

Oliver heaved out a sigh, “It isn’t like that, Brandon. I told you to calm down. It’s not good for you.”

“How am I supposed to calm down? I’m going out. I’m going to get her back.” I snatched the car key from Oliver’s hand and marched towards the door.

“Brandon, stop!” Oliver shouted, but I chose to ignore him. I exited the door then pulled my hoodie to cover my head.

“I said stop!” he called out once more. He ran towards me.

I gritted my teeth, “What do you fucking want me to do?”

“Are you trying to kill yourself, huh?” he asked as soon as he was in front of me, “You didn’t even get far more than two kilometers. The club is in the middle of the city. Cassius will take care of Alayna. He’ll bring here.”

“How could you know? He was different from you. I trust you and I don’t trust him and I don’t care the fuck if the club is at the ends of the earth.”

“Okay,” Oliver sighed. “Come on, I’ll drive.”
