Romance

Chapter 1

She has always been fascinated by him. She doesn't know why exactly; maybe because the first time they met at the tender age of 5 years old, he captured her attention by pulling both of them into a puddle of mud; maybe because they have been best friends since that incident;  or maybe because there's something in him that is drawing her like a moth to a flame. She only knows she wants everything he can offer.

And it is not enough.

He is like the sun to her. She feels warm when he pays attention to her, and cold when he doesn't. She burns when someone else flirts with him, when they take his attention. Like now.

"So... how is it Luke? Tonight?" asked the brunette who was currently leaning into him, showing her cleavage shamelessly.

She gritted her teeth as she watched his eyes taking in the scene offered, smirking as he gives his assent. "Of course, Britt. I can't wait."

She could only watch as they kiss their goodbyes. She still watches when the both of them finally part. She doesn't dare to look away. Maybe if she keeps watching, one day she will be numb to the burning sensation in he chest.

Elizabeth Robbins: 4.5 starsAs far as apocalypse stories go, this one took a new direction. I'm glad someone finally addressed the need for a vampire apocalypse! JulieJeanette: I'm only on chapter nine, but so far I am loving this story!. I am on pins and needles hoping that they find good men in their lives by the end. I am American and so the British tone and lingo ('knickers,' 'sod it' ) of the book is very appealing. I had to find out how much '12 stone' was by goog...

Jean Tryon: As a beta, I found this story outstanding!! Plot, grammar, phraseology, etc Rachel gives us it all. She takes the story into the future from where due South ends. She is an exacting and thoughtful author.

Marijana1: The melancholy present throughout this story has the power to influence and etch into the minds of the readers, to stay there and refuse to leave even after they have finished reading the story.
