Chapter 10

*Sky*

I followed Jason out and found him about to get into his car. He smiled when he saw me and walked over to me.

The way he was looking at me had we wishing we were still together. Jason had always been so noble so sweet. Tonight, had not been the exception. I smiled thinking about his confession tonight.

He was still in love with me. I would be lying if I said I was not a little happy about it. I was so caught in the moment that I just let my emotions get the best of me. Before I realized what, I had done I had closed the gap between us.

“Thank you,” I said placing my hand on his cheek.

He smiled but said nothing.

I looked up at him and the emotion in his eyes had my throat going dry.

I didn’t even hear Trevor walk up behind me until he spoke.

“What would golden boy in there,” He said pointing to the house “think about this encounter?” Trevor said eyes blazing with anger.

“Have you already forgotten what he did to you and how much he hurt you.” Trevor said pulling me away from Jason.

Jason walked over to me and pulled me behind him.

“Always the hero,” Trevor sneered at Jason.

“You have not exactly been using your best judgement tonight Trevor.” Jason said keeping me behind him.

“Are you ok Sky?” Stephen said running to me.

“She looks perfectly content with Jason, don’t you think bro.” Trevor said with a smirk.

“You are a true asshole,” Jason said handing me to Stephen.

“If you really want to do this,” Jason said pointing between him and Trevor. “Then let’s go,” He said stepping up to Trevor.

“This has been a fight waiting to happen since I told you how I felt about Sky. You want to be petty then let’s be petty. You had years to tell Sky how you felt about her. You have loved her since forever and still like that you never told her. From the moment, I realized that I was falling for her I came to you about it. You said, and I quote, she is just my little sister’s friend. I can care less if you date her.”

“Only you did care and a lot.”

“Even now you fight your feelings for her. Dating Destiny is a joke and we both know it. We both know your crazy in love with Sky. I dare you to tell her you love her.” Jason said pushing Trevor hard.

Trevor looked up at me, but he didn’t say anything.

“What’s going on out here?” Destiny said walking up her hands on her hips.

She turned to glare at me and I frowned. Who did this girl think that she was. I pulled my hair into a tight bun and moved out from behind Stephen and took a few steps towards her.

“Do you have something to say to me?” I said glaring at her.

“Leave my boyfriend alone already,” Destiny yelled angrily.

“Oh, you want me to leave him alone.” I said with laugh.

I got right in her face and pushed her back hard. I was sick of this girl. I hated bullies and this girl was the queen bully.

Trevor walked over and pulled Destiny behind him.

I laughed as I walked over to him.

“Really? You’re going to defend her after the way she treated me. Why don’t you tell her what you told me outside the hospital that day? If you’re going to hide her from me then let’s tell her who she should really be mad at. I’m sick of all her bullshit.” I said glaring up at him.

“Your girlfriend wants me out of your life. Make it happen Trevor. Tell me you don’t want me in your life.” I said locking eyes with his.

“I don’t want you in my life,” Trevor growled.

Hearing those words stung. But I refused to show it. Without saying anything I turned and walked back to Stephen. There was nothing left to do here. He had made his choice. I was angry that he had defended her.

“You idiot, she’s never going to forgive you for that.” I heard Jason saying as Stephen and I walked away.

Silent tears ran down my face. Stephen looked over at me and pulled me into his arm.

“Please stop,” He said wiping my tears from my eyes.

“Awe, poor thing is crushed.” Destiny said walking by with Trevor.

Stephen laughed and walked over to them. “One more word from her, and me and you,” he said pointing at Trevor “are going to go. You and I know that on your best day you never know who may win in a fight between us. But today, right now,” Stephen said with a grin. “You don’t have a chance. So, Destiny choose wisely before you say another word.”

“You know, I feel sorry for you Destiny. You’re with someone who loves someone else.” He said mockingly

“But you,” He said looking at Trevor. “I really feel bad for you, because tomorrow I know that you’re going to hurt when finally realize what you have done.”

“You and that other idiot don’t deserve her.” Stephen said walking back over to me.

“She’s mine now,” He said helping me into the car.

We had left the party hours ago and despite all that time I still could not believe how tonight had turned out.

How had my life gotten so complicated?

Raven and I had been texting for hours. Although she admitted that her brother was an idiot she pointed out that he was a very drunk idiot.

I was mad at myself for being so upset. I was never going to forget his words and I hated that it affected me so much.

“Don’t worry Sky, I got you.” Stephen said interrupting my thoughts.

“How do you feel about being my fake girlfriend? He asked with a smile.

“Let’s step up this game, you are about to become the girlfriend of the heir to the blue diamond empire.” He said smiling mischievously.

*2 months later*

Billionaire, Stephen De La Cruz has stepped out with Sky Adams. His camp has confirmed that they are dating. I read putting down my magazine.

Pictures of Stephen and I were in all the tabloids. I smiled as I looked at one our pictures. I was famous, how crazy was that?

“I still can’t believe that this is happening.” I said turning to look at Stephen.

He smiled with that goofy grin of his and leaned over and placed a quick kiss on my lips.

The camera’s flash blinded me for a second.

“Really? Did you have to do that? They have enough pictures of us.” I said looking up at him.

“Of course I do, every chance I get to aggravate those morons I’m going to take it.” He said placing a beautifully wrapped present on the table.

I looked down at it and he smiled knowing I was dying to know what was in the box. He pushed the box over to me and I grabbed it

I opened it and I smiled. It was an album of the both of us. The cover had an inscription that read. Only you know the real me. With a picture of the two of us making a silly face.

There were a few pictures of me that I had not even realized he had taken. Every picture took me back to that day and I couldn’t help but get a bit choked up at his thoughtfulness.

“Thank you, I love it.” I said pulling a box from my purse and pushing it over to him.

This was our fake two-month anniversary. If he thought that I had forgotten, he was wrong. He looked surprised, but he picked up the box and opened it.

He laughed out loud when he opened it.

“I love it,” He said pulling the picture frame out. It was a photo of me making a silly face with an inscription that said, Hope this brightens your day and brings a smile to your face.

“This is going next to my bed what better picture to wake up to.” He laughed.

“Better yet maybe my fireplace mantle.” He said waiting for my reaction.

I stuck my tongue out at him and he smiled.

“Talking about your new house, when do I get to see it?”

“As soon as I get furniture.” He said asking for the check.

“You know we have to break up before you start college. Right?” I said getting up.

“Why?” He said wrapping his arm around me as we walked out.

“Smile beautiful,” he whispered in my ear as he led me past the photographers trying to get a photo of us.

I waited till we got to the car to answer. “I want you to have the best college experience ever. I don’t want you to have to worry about a girlfriend. What if you find the girl of your dreams and your tied to me? Your fake girlfriend. You deserve to be happy Stephen.” I said placing my hand on his.

“And if I don’t want to end things?” He whispered.

“What do you mean?” I asked confused.

“Maybe I want to make this real.” He said looking up at me.

“What!? Don’t bullshit me Stephen.” I said glaring at him.

I could never tell when he was joking. It made me nervous.

“I’m serious Sky, the more time I spend with you the more I don’t want to be without you. I’m starting to have feelings for you. I didn’t want to admit it to myself but when you brought up breaking things off I didn’t like it. I know that you didn’t expect this but think about really giving us a shot.” He said stopping in front of my house.

“No way your serious Stephen,” I said looking up at him with a frown.

What the hell was happening here? I thought before getting out of the car.

“Sky,” Stephen said running around the car and pulling me to him.

“I would never hurt you by playing with you like that. This is something that I’ve been struggling with for months now. You just don’t know how much you mean to me. How hard it was to watch you cry over those idiots. The thought of us dating and it not working out scares me. I’ve never been serious about anyone you know that, but I find that I love being with you, holding you, and stealing all those kisses. Most importantly, you get me.” He said cupping my face in his hands.

“Please say yes.” He whispered.
