Chapter 17

I woke up to the chirp of this annoyingly loud phone going off next to my head. I reached for it and struggled to silence it. I hadn’t had much of a chance to mess with this new phone. I had pulled it from my closet. I had a dozen new phones from gift bags to parties I had been too.

It was a good thing I had them too. I would be phoneless right now without them. I thought with a frown.

I fumbled with it a few more seconds finally turning the ringer off before Sky woke up.

Amber had been texting me nonstop since she had seen Sky and I together. I was going to have to change my number. There were only so many ways someone could say that they are not interested. I didn’t want to be rude but maybe that’s what she needed.

I looked across the room at Sky and I couldn’t help but smile at seeing her so comfortable sprawled out on my bed. My fingers itched to touch her. Every moment I spent with her, I fell harder. I loved her.

She was finally mine. I had struggled for months with my growing feelings for her. Pretending to be her boyfriend had been torture. If she only knew what every kiss every caress had cost me.

I started to fall for her way before I told her I did. I was just good at hiding it. How many girls had I dated wishing that they were her?

She looked so tiny from across the room where I was laying trying and failing to take my eyes off her.

That girl in my bed was going to be my wife one day. She was it for me. I knew it like I needed to breath air. I hadn’t been joking when I had told her that I could only ever see her as my wife.

I still remembered the first time I saw her. She reminded me of a pixie she was so tiny compared to me. I liked her instantly, she didn’t giggle at everything I said and didn’t show any interest in me at all. Which never happened to me.

I needed to leave the room before I was tempted into getting into bed with her and pulling her into my arms.

I got up and walked to the door closing it quietly behind me. I walked downstairs and over to the piano. I ran my finger lightly across the keys with a smile sitting down and placing my fingers on the keys. I closed my eyes and let my fingers glide across the piano sending the beautiful melody I was playing through the whole house.

When I finally opened my eyed Sky was standing in the door way. She surprised me by walking over and sitting down next to me. I stopped playing and she smiled.

“I’m in love,” She said with a happy grin.

“Play something for me.” She said making my heart skip a beat.

I played her several pieces before she leaned her head on my shoulder with a yawn.

I was fighting with myself over if I should tell her that I loved her. I didn’t want to move too fast, but I desperately wanted her to know.

I decided against it and instead picked her up and carried her to her room and set her down on her bed.

“I could have walked,” She said.

“I know, but why should you when you have a strong boyfriend to carry you.” I said with a grin.

She laughed and changed the subject.

“Will you play again for me sometime?” She asked looking up at me.

“Love, all you have to do is ask.”

She reached for my hands and pulled me closer to her.

“Why didn’t I know that you could play the piano?”

“It just never came up?” I said truthfully.

“What other things don’t I know about you?” She said meeting my eyes.

I had never opened myself up to a girl like I was doing with Sky and I had to admit that it was scary being so vulnerable.

I sat down next to her and turned to look at her.

“Ask me anything you want to know.” I said meeting her eyes.

“I’m going to think about that and get back to you. I don’t do good when I’m put on the spot.” She said making a face.

I laughed and how adorable she was.

“It’s not funny.” She said hitting my arm.

“If you say so,” I responded with a chuckle.

“We better get some sleep we only have a few hours before we have to go pick Raven up.” I said kissing her cheek softly begore getting up and leaving the room.

I went to sleep thinking that this would be our only night together like this.

“We love you sky.” A girl yelled from a few feet away as Stephen and I walked through the airport.

“Team Sky,” Another girl yelled.

Stephen held me close to him making me feel safe. I loved all the trivial things that he did for me. He knew that I was not used to all this. He was protecting me the best he could, and I loved it.

Thank you,” I replied unsure of what to say back.

“You are way too cute,” Stephen whispered in my ear.

By the time we got to Raven’s gate the passengers were all ready getting off the plane.

I saw her before she saw me, so I yelled her name out. She walked over her phone to her ear.

“I just got here,” She said into the phone.

“Yes, of course she’s here. No, I will not.”

“No way Trevor. Bye brother.” She said ending the call.

“Sorry guys.” Raven said ending the call looking over at Stephen.

“Don’t worry about it.” Stephen said handing her bag to his bodyguard.

“Thank you,” I whispered reaching up and placing a quick kiss on his lips.

He grinned clearly happy with himself.

“I’m so excited to be here,” Raven said with a huge grin.

“Glad to have you.” Stephen replied lacing his fingers with mine.

I pressed my body close to him bracing myself for what was outside waiting for us.

“Is it always like this?” Raven asked looking over a Stephen.

“Actually no,” Stephen said with a grin.

“It seems that everyone loves Sky and I as a couple. They can’t seem to get enough of us.” He smiled.

“It’s crazy,” I said laughing.

The whole trip back to Stephen’s he sat quietly letting Raven and I talk.

“You do not live here?” Raven said in awe as we pulled up to his house.

“I do,” Stephen said with a grin.

“Tell me you have a pool?” She asked looking over at him.

“I do, with a slide.” He chuckled amused by her reaction.

“Omg,” She mouthed at me.

Stephen showed her to her room me in tow.

Her room was as beautiful as mine, but her room was on the bottom floor.

“I’m going to let you two catch up.” Stephen said placing a quick kiss on my lips.

“If you need me I’ll be in my office working on somethings.” He said leaving Raven and I alone.

“Tell me everything.” Raven said pulling me behind her to the bed.

There were a few things that I needed to do before I started college in a couple weeks. My grandfather had started our company from nothing and grew it into the empire that it was. When I was born he gave me some shares of the company. I got a vote and a deposit to my account every mouth for being part owner.

My laptop starting blinking and my abuelas face popped up on Skype.

“Abuela,” I said with a grin always happy to see her.

“I’ve seen you in all the tabloids with a beautiful girl that I have yet to meet.” She said fishing for details.

“Mom and Dad don’t approve of her.” I said with a frown.

“Porque?” She replied.

“They are hell bent on me marrying Amber. Some deal with Ambers parents company and Blue Diamond.”

“Dad has been pressuring me to break with Sky. He even suggested I take her as my mistress. I’m in love with her Abuela. She sees me and not my money.” I said meeting her eyes.

A knock on the door sounded and I yelled for them to come in.

“Are you busy?” Sky asked from the doorway.

“Not at all. Come over here and meet my Abuela.”

She walked over, and I stood up giving her my chair.

“Nice to finally meet you.” Sky said with a smile.

“Likewise,” My abuela said returning the smile.

“How long have you known my grandson, Sky?”

“About a year. We meet when I lived here with my grandmother. We went to the same school until I moved back home.”

“We were actually best friends until recently.” She said with a smile.

“Really,” His abuela said clearly intrigued.

“It took me a while to tell her how I felt about her.” I said locking eyes with Sky.

She smiled placing her hand on mine.

“It a little different going from being friends to dating but so far so good.” She grinned.

My eyes lingered on her and how honest she was about everything. It was no wonder everyone fell so hard for her. It was impossible not to.

“I’m having a dinner tomorrow you two come.” My Abuela said with a weird look in her eyes.

“Can I bring my friend she just flew in today.” Sky asked shyly.

“Of course, you can Mijia.” She replied.

“I will see you two tomorrow,” She said ending the video call.

This was going to be interesting my Abuela was up to something.
