Chapter 19

*Sky*

Have I ever I told you two how good-looking you guys are,” I said covering my mouth with my hand.

“As a matter of fact, you have,” Trevor said with a huge grin.

“Oh, shut it,” I said making a face.

I walked over to Stephen and pulled him to the side.

“I’m sorry,” I said feeling guilty.

I had been putting my foot in my mouth all day.

“For the record I think your hotter,” I whispered.

“Is that so?” He asked amused.

“It’s the truth,” I said hand on my heart. “I swear.”

He laughed and pulled me into his arms.

“Why are you guys here?” Raven asked curious.

“I thought it would be nice to invite them for my party.” Stephen said with a smile.

“The dude flew us over here on a private jet.” Jason said starstruck.

“Why did I have to fly commercial?” Raven said hands on her hips.

“Don’t look at me,” Stephen said hands in the air.

“That was all your bestie,” He said with a grin.

“If she would have listened to me she wouldn’t have lost her luggage.” He laughed.

“That was not funny. All my stuff was in there.” I frowned.

“I’ll make sure you get it back. No worries Love.” He said making me smile.

“Don’t feel bad for her though. Stephen already bought her a whole new wardrobe. She probably has more stuff now than she started off with.” Raven said with a grin.

“Nice,” Jason said patting Stephen on the back.

“Glad I’m done competing with you.” He laughed.

“Unless Sky for some reason tells me she’s madly in love with me.” Jason said winking at me making me laugh.

“Then all bets are off.” He joked.

How long had it been since Jason and I were able to joke around like this? I was glad that he was here. We had been friends once. I was happy that we were getting back to that.

“A little competition is good for you.” Trevor said with a smirk.

“I’ll fight hard for someone I love.” He said meeting my eyes.

This was going to be a long couple of days.

*Stephen*

“Are you feeling better?” I asked Sky from across the dinner table.

Unbeknownst to her she had been high all day. It looked like it was finally starting to wear off. I blew a breath out that I hadn’t even realized I was holding in waiting for her answer.

“Much better.” She said with a grin.

I was relieved that she was better but I was dreading having to tell her what happened. I guess it was now or never.

“I have something to tell you,” I said getting up.

“Promise me that you will listen to what I have to say before you get mad.”

“That bad?” She asked.

I nodded and took a breath.

“I actually have to talk to Raven too.” He said getting her attention.

Never had I been as nervous and afraid as I was right now. I was out of my element.

I couldn’t lose her. Not for this. I paced the floor for a second before I turned to look at them both.

“The reason you two were feeling so loopy and strange is because you guys were high. The brownies you ate were weed brownies.” I rushed out.

“We ate what?” Sky yelled stunned.

Raven just sat there and said nothing. She didn’t seem upset at all.

“Weeds not that bad.” Jason said helping me out.

“How can you say that? I’m a freaking pot head.” She said throwing her hands in the air.

“I’m pretty sure that’s not good. You know, since I currently can’t pass a drug test.”

“Do you planning on having to anytime soon?” Jason asked her with a grin.

“I mean no.” She said with a frown.

“One of these?” Trevor asked a brownie in his hand.

I nodded, and he laughed.

“You two are blind. It says right here in big ass letters that it has THC in it.” Trevor laughed showing Sky and Raven.

“Those were good.” Raven laughed.

“How did you guys not see that?” Trevor asked playing his role perfectly.

“We were hungry. You know how we get when we’re hungry.” Raven said sticking her tongue out at her brother.

“Carlos sent them as a gift. By the time he sent me a text telling me he had sent them. You guys had already eaten some.” I said.

“Was it really that bad of an experience?” Trevor asked.

“I mean I learned a few new things about you today?” He said grinning at Sky.

“Say one more word and I’ll kill you,” She said glaring at him.

“I forgive you Stephen. Your too good looking to stay mad at.” Raven said with a grin.

“I appreciate that Raven,” I replied with a smile.

One down now I had to get Sky to forgive me. I didn’t want her to be upset with me the rest of her vacation. Or worse she could decide to go home early.

“Please forgive me,” I said sitting in the chair next to her.

I took her hand in mine and prayed that she would be as forgiving as Raven.

This was the first time I cared if a girl forgave me or not. One could say I was getting a taste of my own medicine.

How selfish had I been before her?

In front of me sat the one girl that I couldn’t dazzle with my money.

“Forgive him already and put him out of his misery.” Jason said getting up.

“We all know how crazy he is about you. Believe me he’s sorry.” Trevor said surprising me.

She sat quiet for a few seconds before she turned to look at me.

“I’m not happy about it but it’s clearly our own fault.” She said pointing between her and Raven.

“No more weed in the house when I’m here. My mouth gets too lose.” She laughed.

“Done,” I said happy that she didn’t dump me.

*Sky*

Today was the dinner at Stephen’s grandmother’s house and I was nervous. Stephen had racks of dresses and shoes delivered along with a couple of tuxedos for the guys.

Our dinner had turned into a dinner party with who knows who attending.

“I don’t know which one I should wear.” I whined throwing myself on the bed.

“Quit being a drama queen.” Raven scolded me.

“Anything you pick is going to look great on you.” She said taking a beautiful floor length dress from the rack and handed it to me.

“We only have a few minutes before we have to go. So, hurry up.” She said finishing up her makeup.

She had curled my hair and done my make up earlier like only someone as fabulous as Raven could.

I looked in the mirror and smiled at how great I looked. I walked over to the bed and opened the gift Stephen had given me. In the velvety black box sat a beautiful necklace with a diamond incrusted D charm.

“Oh, my God,” Raven taking the box from me to get a better look.

“Stephen wants you to wear this?” She asked in awe.

“He said that it would make a statement.”

“What kind of statement?” Raven asked curious.

“I wish I knew.” I answered clasping the necklace around my neck.

When we were finally ready we headed down stairs. The boys were already waiting by the door looking as GQ as I had ever seen them.

“You two look stunning,” Stephen said grinning when he saw the necklace.

“How do you always look so great?” I asked amazed at how regal he looked.

The guy in front of me wasn’t my Stephen he was Stephen De La Cruz. For as much as I preferred the other Stephen I knew that this was also who he was. If I really wanted this to work between us I knew I had to get used to the world he lived in.

I closed my eyes and took a calming breath.

“Don’t worry love. Anyone who comes for you tonight comes for me. They will be handled accordingly. I don’t care who they are.” He said lifting my chin up to look at him.

“I’m in love with you,” No one can change that.” He said never breaking eye contact.

“You are,” I asked shocked.

“I am,” he grinned.

I wasn’t sure how I felt about all this, but I was swooning hard.

The more I got to know him the more I liked about him. He was so much more than his money and gorgeous face. If he was willing to fight for me I would do the same for him.

“Let’s do this,” I said heading to the door everyone behind me.

When we turned down the road to Stephen grandmothers house I never expected to see a house that big. It was three times the size of Stephen’s and his house was huge.

Cars lined all up and down the driveway. The car pulled up to the front the driver got out to open our door.

Stephen got out first and helped both Raven and I out.

“No freaking way.” Jason said his mouth hanging open.

“How the hell did you end up meeting some one who has money like this?” Jason asked me pointing to the house.

“You cheated on her.” Raven blurted out.

“I was her tutor,” Stephen said with a chuckle holding his arm out to me.

“You ready,” he said meeting my eyes.

“Of course,” I said lying.

We walked through the front door and into a world I had never been in before today.
