Chapter 9

The song finally ended, and I pulled away from him. Destiny came to stand next to Trever narrowing her eyes at me.

“You ready to take another spin around the dance floor beautiful,” Stephen said grabbing my arm and pulling me away. Leaving Trevor and Destiny standing there.

“Life saver,” I said laughing while he twirled me around the dance floor.

Everything was always so simple with Stephen. He was as laid back as they came. He was funny and thoughtful.

“Thank you for being my fake boyfriend,” I said with a huge grin.

“Who are you actually dating?” I asked curious.

“I’m not committed to anyone right now. Just taking girl’s on dates stuff like that.” He grinned.

“I just don’t want a girlfriend mad cause I’m trying to steal her man. I’ve got enough of those,” I said with a frown.

“Your gorgeous and you can throw down. You have already stolen my heart.” He said placing his hand on his chest with a grin.

“Your horrible,” I said sticking my tongue out at him.

When the song ended he placed his hand on my back and walked me back to the table.

I knew he was loving every second he got to torture Trevor and Jason and I smiled because deep down I loved it to.

“I brought you a present?” Stephen whispered in my ear.

“You did?” I whispered back excited.

He pulled a small box from his pocket and handed it to me.

“Can I open it?” I asked looking up at him for permission.

Raven choose that moment to walk by. She stopped in her tracks and looked down at the small box.

“Open it already,” before I have a heart attack wondering what it is.” Raven said and everyone at the table turning to look at me.

I opened the box and my breath caught. It was the ring he and I had designed together.

Beautiful blue diamonds lined the band sparkling beautifully with the light.

“Thank you,” I said throwing my arms around his neck.

“No way that’s real,” Destiny said loud enough for me to hear.

“You got me, it’s fake,” Stephen said with a small laugh.

“I’m sorry Sky you deserve nothing but the best,” He said faking embarrassment.

Both Stephen and I bust out laughing. The more he laughed the more I laughed.

“I don’t know what’s so funny. He just gave her a two-dollar ring that will turn her finger green.” Destiny said with a smirk.

“What’s funny is that’s Stephen De La Cruz; heir to the blue diamond empire. That ring is definitely real.” Raven said letting her in on the joke.

“So, you’re a gold digger now?” Destiny said looking right at me.

The only thing I wanted to do was punch her in the face. But I didn’t want to ruin Trevor’s party.

“If you took the time to get to know Sky instead of hating on her you would know that Sky would love that ring even if it was fake. You run your mouth way too much sweetie. Learn your place.” Raven said throwing her glass of water at her.

“Maybe you will think next time before opening your big mouth.” Raven snapped at her.

“Why is she still here?” Raven said glaring at her brother.

Destiny sat in shock for a few seconds before she got up and ran to the bathroom.

“Maybe you should check on your girlfriend,” Stephen said turning to look at Trevor clearly amused.

“I think maybe we should get going,” I said pulling Stephen up with me.

“You guys better be at the after party at our house.” Raven said hugging me good- bye.

“Maybe it’s best if we skip it. I’m not trying to create problems for anyone.” I whispered.

“Trevor, tell Sky you want her at your after party.” Raven said with a devious smirk.

In a move that shocked all of us he got up and walked over to me and stopped in front of me.

“Please come,” He said dazzling me with those blue eyes.

He grabbed a lock of my hair and pushed it away from my face softly.

In another move that shocked me Stephen pushed Trevor back pulling me to him.

“Watch yourself,” Stephen said angrily at Trevor.

This was getting crazy. I grabbed a hold of Stephen’s hand and pulled him behind me to the door.

Once we were outside I ran smack into Jason. He was standing outside just looking up at the stars.

I wanted to say hey, to say anything but instead I quickly looked away letting Stephen lead me to his car.

“What the heck happened in there?” I asked Stephen confused.

“That was clearly a pass he made at you right in front of me. If we were dating for real do you think any guy would just let that fly. I got to play the part.” He said lifting his eyebrows making me laugh.

We sat on my bed and went through each other’s pictures on our phones.

“Ewww Nicole,” I said fake gagging.

“Why do you still have this?” I laughed.

His phone started to ring, and he frowned when the picture of a beautiful blonde flashed on the screen.

I handed him the phone and he sent it to voicemail.

“Why the frown? She’s hot?” I asked.

“She’s shallow and spoiled,” He said standing up and grabbing his bag from the floor.

“My parents are pushing her on me, she comes from a good family. I would rather eat glass than take her out.” He said with a frown.

“I think we better get ready for this party? I have a feeling what we have on is too formal.” He said walking into my bathroom and closing the door.

I grabbed a tee shirt and some skinny jeans and headed to the bathroom down the hall.

“Do you always look so perfect?” I asked as Stephen walked out of the bathroom.

“I do try,” He said with a smirk.

“You look pretty smoking yourself,” He said pulling me to him and turning his camera on.

I smiled big as the camera flashed. I grabbed the phone from his hand, so I can see the photo and smiled at how great it came out.

When we got to the party it was going full swing. I opened the front door and laced my fingers with Stephen’s and pulled him in behind me.

It was comforting to have him here with me.

We walked in and I tried to find Raven but there were to many people.

“Do you want me to grab you a drink,” Stephen asked pointing to the kitchen.

“Yes,” I yelled letting him lead the way.

“Sky,” Raven yelled.

Trevor sat on the counter with a red cup in his hand. He had clearly had a few drinks already. The anger in his eyes when we walked in was hard to miss.

“Look who it is,” Destiny said walking in with Carrie.

“You two really don’t know when to quit.” Raven said looking over at Trevor.

“There not even worth our time,” I said trying to calm Raven down.

“Say’s the gold digger,” Carrie said taking a shot.

“You know what, fuck this,” I said handing my phone to Stephen.

“You want some more Barbie, let’s go,” I said pissed

I grabbed my hair tie and wrapped my hair in a messy bun.

Trevor jumped off the counter and blocked Carrie from me.

Destiny came from behind and pushed me hard. Sending me right into Trevor’s arms.

Trevor wrapped his arms around me and held me in place.

“Let her go,” Stephen said coming to stand in from of us.

“Or what?” Trevor said with an arrogant grin.

“You idiot,” Raven said laughing at Destiny’s mistake.

“You pushed her right into his arms,” she said grabbing her from the back of her hair and throwing her to the ground.

“Let me let you in on a secret everyone knows but you. He wants her there. I just threw you to the ground and what’s he doing. Yeah that’s right he’s still refusing to let her go.” She said with a smirk.

“Cause she’s a huge slut,” Carrie yelled from behind Trevor.

“Let me go or I swear to god I will never speak to you again,” I yelled at Trevor.

Trevor let go and I pushed past him and stepped right in Carrie’s face. “Say it again, I dare you.” I said pushing her into the kitchen counter. I grabbed her by her hair and dragged her to where Destiny was still on the floor and pushed her down.

“I’m sick of the two of you, and I ’m especially sick of you.” I yelled pointing at Trevor.

Stephen put his arm around my waist and pulled me to him.

“You are being an ass Trevor and you know it,” Raven said glaring at her brother.

“Why don’t you man up and put an end to this.” Jason said walking over and stopping right in front of Trevor.

In all the chaos I had not even noticed that Jason had walked into the kitchen.

“You of all people should really not be talking,” Trevor said pushing Jason back.

Jason threw his fist out and hit Trevor right in the jaw.

“I love her, and she knows it!” Jason said right before Trevor hit him in the eye hard.

Jason rushed Trevor and knocked him to the floor knocking the air out of him.

“Don’t you get that their punishing Sky because of us.”

“There has not been one day that I have not thought of Sky. I have never stopped loving her. Don’t Punish her because I can’t let her go.” He said looking at Carrie.

“It’s over!” He said leaving Carrie on the floor.

“I’m sorry Sky,” He said disappearing into the crowded house.

“I was totally not expecting that,” Raven said taking a shot of vodka.

“And the plot thickens,” Stephen whispered in my ear making me laugh.
