Chapter 19

I guess I slipped up with magic too many times, not only that but my secrets were starting to pile up. All in all- I’ve been a shit best friend. I was scared as hell that she’d freak out and leave me. She’s always been there, and I needed her. I also knew that no matter the outcome of our friendship, she’d be pretty ticked off I was keeping a secret from her, even if it was something she thought crazy. That’s just how Leila is. This led me to my current situation that I was in- sitting on my bed across from Leila, sweating bullets.

“Am I ever going to get an explanation?” Leila asked, turning to face me.

“Yeah,” I said slowly

’I’m not sure where to begin, to be honest.”

“Start from what’s been going on between the three of you.”

I guess she was talking about Dylan, Kayden, and I. I laughed.

“That might be the hardest to explain. In all honesty, I’m not even sure myself. We all just click. How things turn out and how our relationship works are beyond me.”

Leila stared at me for long and hard before cracking a smile and erupting in giggles.

“Not everyone can say that they have two yummy boyfriends.”

I blushed.

“They’re not my boyfriends!”

“Yet.” Leila giggled

I rolled my eyes, and Leila got serious again.

“What else is going on? How did you and Kai meet?”

I cleared my throat and looked away. What if I lost my best friend? Could I take her writing me off as crazy? I sighed. If that how things were going to end, then I might as well get it over with.

“What I’m going to say next is going to sound crazy.”

“Are you going to elope with Kai!”

“What?! No!”

I sighed and rolled my eyes. Even in serious situations; Leila will still be Leila.

“Leila, I need you to be completely open-minded about this, okay?”

Leila nodded.

“I’m a witch.”

“I want to know because I care about you. I’d rather you didn’t bullshit me right now.” Leila’s voice oozed annoyance.

“I’m a hundred percent serious with you right now.”

Leila’s eyes widened.

“I would try to laugh this off, but I know you well enough to know when you’re serious. I also know you well enough to know that you’re not psychotic.”

Leila drew in a ragged breath.

“So, give me proof.”

I breathed a sigh if relief. She was going to hear me out before taking off.

“I’ll be right back!”

I hopped off the bed and raced down the stairs. I grabbed a glass and filled it with water before heading back upstairs. I searched for something with a smooth surface to keep the water balanced. I found an old wooden jewelry box, that should do the trick. Leila watched me curiously as I set them in the middle of the bed.

She looked confused as I sat criss-cross apple sauce in front of the water.

“Don’t you need candles or something?”

I chuckled.

“No, just watch.”

I took a deep breath and felt a rush of magic flow through me as I envisioned the water raising from the glass and forming into drops. I smiled when I heard her gasp. I opened my eyes and found her staring in awe. I decided to take it a step further and asked the water to merge. The water complied and merged intricately, slowly formed a medium-sized butterfly. Now even I was amazed; to actually see it was simply mind blowing. The elements were definitely not to be taken lightly. They could be raging, peaceful, and incredibly beautiful.

“That’s freaking amazing! Oh my God, I have a witch for a best friend.”

I giggled at her amazement.

“You know this just goes to shows that my awesomeness attracts more awesomeness,” Leila said proudly.

I pinched her thigh, and she yelped.

“So, you’re not going to run away?”

“And you know you can’t tell anyone?”

She rolled her eyes.

“I know. I’m not stupid.” Leila pouted.

“I know,” I said softly

Leila forcefully grabbed me into a hug.

“Stop looking so worried. You’re my best friend, and I love you.”

I sniffed.

“I love you too.”

“Okay, so how does Kai get thrown into the mix?”

I blushed wildly.

“Umm, Kai’s a witch too.”

She gave me a questioning glance and I proceeded in telling her exactly how we met. Once I was done explaining Leila roared in laughter.

“That’s a priceless way to meet someone!”

“Shut up!”

We both erupted in giggles and the weight on my shoulders instantly lifted. I was so glad I didn’t have to keep things from her anymore. For the rest of the day, we talked and talked and talked. She told me about her growing feelings for Rafe, and I went on to tell her about my confusing feelings for Dylan and Kayden.

I even told her about me and Kai’s encounter with Tyler. She just loved that story. Leila being the devious person that she is, thought that Kai and I should have called him up and teased him a bit. I’m pretty she was only half kidding. Later that day, we were pretty nervous to tell my dad, but he didn’t even blink. He simply nodded his head and went back to watching TV.

’You’re not mad?”

“Why would I be? Leila’s your best friend, you guys have known each other since you were in diapers. I knew you would tell her sooner or later.” He shrugged his shoulders

“So you weren’t worried about me telling anyone?” Leila asked

Dad gave a knowing glance.

“Your the type of person to worry about someone stealing your witch best friend, then about who knows that you have one.”

I laughed when Leila nodded in agreement. Leila sniffed.

“You know me so well.”

Now that was over and done with; it was time to relax. Leila hummed when she saw my face.

“What are you thinking?”

" I think it’s time to have a party.”

Leila and I spent the remainder of the evening planning for the party. Dad conveniently told me that he was taking mom out and that they would be staying at a hotel.

“Who are we inviting?”

We looked down at the tablet in front of us and started writing down names. I even added Tyler and Theo to the list.

“Is this everyone you want to invite?” Leila asked.

“Um, can you add Michael and Trevor to the list.”

Leila furrowed her brows. “Are you sure about that?”

I nodded my head. “They’ve always been good to me. Even when shit hit the fan with Emmett, they made sure I was okay. I don’t want to cut them out completely.”

Leila nodded and added them onto the list.

I fished my phone out of my pocket and called Sage and Sadie. They rallied up the other girls and said that they would be happy to help set up and that they were on their way.

Once we were done I stood back and admired our work. We did pretty well, considering it was all last minute. I told Sage to unlock the door, and as soon as she did, the guys walked through.

“Well, aren’t you guys punctual.” Sadie teased.

“Were VIP guests, it’s only proper that we are.”

Ava rolled her eyes.

“VIP my ass, more like CAB.”

Levi gave a questioning glance

“And that would mean?”

“Cocky Ass Bastard’s.” We said in unison.

We giggled as the guys pouted. People were starting to pour in left and right, and we were all having a great time. Things were starting to get intense as I felt Kayden and Dylan’s gaze on me as I danced with Leila and Kai. I felt like everything slowed down our dancing, the rhythm of the music, and my heartbeat.

After a while, I started wanting to feel more than just their gaze on me. I untangled myself from Kai and Leila before making my way towards them. I added a sway to my walk as the music pounded through me and reverberated in my chest. As soon as I reached them they both grabbed for me. They were only touching me but my body felt like it was on fire.

When they both began nuzzling my neck and giving me love bites, I came undone. It was impossible not to melt in their presence. At some point, we became the center of attention. I think I even saw Emmet and Bianca gaping at us as they entered. Who cares? They were crashing anyway. Besides, the three of us were in our own little world. A world I wasn’t trying to leave. That feeling enveloped me again; the feeling of being completely whole. We were so in sync, and I didn’t want to be anywhere but in their arms.

But all things just come to an end. Bianca ‘tripped’ and pushed me away as she landed on Dylan and Kayden. I giggled as their expressions flickered from uncomfortable; to anger; to disgust. They firmly pushed her away from them before grabbing my hand and relocating to the couch.

“I think she just tried to give us some of the many sexual diseases she has,” Kayden said still pretty creeped out. Dylan shuddered.

“Did you invite her?” Dylan asks

“Yes, because I would invite the whore that slept with my ex and continues to try and take what’s mine.” Was my sarcastic reply. Kayden nudged Dylan.

“So we’re yours, huh?”

I narrowed my eyes at them.

“Shut up!”

When Emmett asked me if I wanted to crash Vanessa’s party, I was ecstatic. I’d give any chance I got to rain on her parade and tonight was as good as any. I put on the shortest dress I owned and straightened my hair out. Once I was done putting on makeup, I went to my closet and snatched up a pair of black stilettos. Just as I reached the bottom of my staircase to heard the doorbell ring. I opened the door to see Emmett decked out in the latest fashion. I forgot he and his family were pretty well off. Emmett looked me up and down before nodding appreciatively.

“Let’s do this,” Emmett said, wrapping his arms around my waist.

I had to give her props. Vanessa knew how to throw one hell of a party. I hated how as soon as we walked in Emmett’s eyes found Vanessa. I tugged on Emmett’s shirt, and he looked down at me; almost as if he had forgotten about me. He kissed me on the forehead before heading to the kitchen to get us some drinks. I was done being second to Vanessa. Tonight he was going to think about me and only me.

I spotted Vanessa having a blast grinding on Dylan and Kayden. How no one saw her as a whore was beyond me. I made my way over to Vanessa and made sure I ‘tripped’ in their direction, effectively pushing Vanessa out of the way. I gasped and looked up at him through my lashes. Damn this boy was hot!

“Sorry about that.”

What I didn’t expect was for them to grimace and push me away. I could only gape as they grabbed Vanessa’s hand and headed for the couch. You have to be fucking kidding me! They completely blew me off. Was Vanessa that great?

Emmett finally came back with drinks and seven cups later we were more than a little drunk. We were currently dancing, and I was enjoying every moment of it. I loved the way his hands gripped my hips, and his lips brushed against my neck. I raised my head so that my lips brushed his ear.

“Let’s find somewhere to play.”

I grabbed his hand and headed upstairs. I pouted when both bedrooms were locked. Emmett nodded and dragged me in the opposite direction.

“She never locks the guest room when she has parties. She just doesn’t want people fucking in her or her parent’s room.”

I didn’t blame her, although fucking Emmett in her bed would be a massive fuck you to her. Oh well.

Emmett and I were naked in minutes. I loved how aggressive he was with me right now. His touch, his kisses, they were raw and passionate. Emmett flipped us so that I was on top. He looked so hungry, hungry for me. Emmett slid on the condom and slammed me down on him. I cried out in shock as the pleasure hit me, and then we were off.

I’m sure anyone within the distance of the bedroom could hear our moans. Neither of us was making much of an effort to keep quiet. Not that I could even if I tried. I’ve never seen Emmett so into it before, and I was the one to give him that pleasure.

“Fuck, Vanessa.” Emmett groaned into me.

I halted my movements. The fuck did he just say?! Emmett’s eyes snapped open when he realized what he said.

“Are you fucking serious right now?!”

“Look, babe, I just drank too much.”

“I can’t believe that even when we’re having sex, you think about her!”

“Have you been doing this the entire time?!” I outraged.

Emmett looked away.

“Oh, my God!” I was starting to have trouble breathing.

How? How could he be this cruel?

“Have you ever just had sex with me?” I whispered

Emmett snapped his head in my direction and nodded.

Emmett clenched his jaw.

“The first time.”

I got up and shoved my clothes on quietly. Once I was fully clothed, I exited the room with silent tears running down my face. It seemed to hurt more that he didn’t even try to stop me. He didn’t try to plead his case, and it hurt.

Fuck this! I stumbled downstairs and raided the fridge for any alcohol I could find. After the ninth bottle of beer, I stopped counting. I was so far gone and no one even bothered to stop me. No one cared. I made out with every guy that was willing and reveled in their attention. The last thing I remember was going to the bathroom to pee.

Fuck my head hurts! I groaned. I felt like I was hit by a truck. I looked around my surroundings. Oh, so that’s why I feel like a truck mowed me down and came back to finish the job. I somehow ended up sleeping in the bathtub. I climbed out of the tub and stretched. My bones felt a bit of relief as popped and cracked. The urge to throw up was strong as a couple bustled in, making out. They completely ignored me as they groped each other on the toilet. Finally, I couldn’t take it anymore and turned to the tub to empty my stomach out. God, that tasted horrible. The couple now realized that I was here and now gave me disgusted looks. Well, at least the girl was, her boyfriend was too busy checking out my ass. I walked past them and rinsed my mouth out at the sink before stumbling out of the house.

The walk home was hell. I felt like the neighborhood was three times louder than it would usually be on a regular day. I wasn’t even going to start on my aching feet. Fifteen minutes later, I sighed in relief as my body hit the bed. I was so fucking done with everything, and my hatred for Vanessa had quadrupled. I wanted her to pay. I wanted her gone, and I was going to make sure I made it happen.

Vote. Comment. Enjoy! :D
