Jaxon and I walked into the school’s main hallway. Angelina and her group sneered at me. I stopped walking and gave them a venomous glare, they tried not to show fear. When I started to walk towards Angelina she put her hands up defensively and stumbled backwards. My irritated glare must have intimidated her. I knew she felt my alpha blood humming as can the wolves, she just didn’t react the same way. The girl had a black eye and a broken nose from her last meeting with me. Even though it was fading fast she still looked awful. Her fear was palpable and she stuttered “P-please, don’t hit me again! I- I’m sorry!”

Jaxon stood there smirking at me. I walked over to the girl and petted her head. “Good puppet.” With an evil smirk I walked back over to Jaxon. “I told you that I made her my bitch.”

His laughter rang out loud and hearty. “That was just cruel, but I loved it.”

“Yeah, she shouldn’t have started with me. I’m a bitch and I own that shit.” Jaxon was laughing so hard that he was wiping his eyes when Jerod walked up and grinned at him. I could hear Jaxon relaying the event and then I heard Jerod snort with laughter as I turned the corner to go to my locker.

“Cherry, you are the bomb!” Jerod hollered.

“You bet your ass I am!” I responded back grinning.

I shut my locker and turned around to find I was only inches from a wall of muscle. Looking up into Brody’s dark eyes I tensed and my mood was instantly changed. He reached for my hand and he leaned down to kiss me but I sidestepped him coldly and pushed him away. “I told you yesterday that I don’t want a mate, so don’t touch me.” I saw the hurt flicker in his eyes and turned away, ignoring it. I had to push him away. I didn’t have a choice.

I heard my name being called and turned to see Brooke bouncing towards me happily. Relief flooded my senses and I smiled at my new friend. “Hey Brooke,” Brooke came up and gave Brody a strange look and then smacked him on the arm.

“What are you doing over here Brody? I’m still pissed off at you for last night!” My eyebrows raised with interest and I looked at him curiously.

“Oh really? What did Brody do last night?” I smirked, slightly jealous, as Brody looked a little uncomfortable. The bond flashed pictures of his naked torso at the lake and I pushed it out of my mind as quickly possible.

“He and Matthew put a snake in my bed! Come on Cherry, we are not talking to him today!” Brooke grabbed my arm and pulled me away. Brody, not to be ignored walked right behind us. I totally ignored him and it was driving him crazy, I could tell.

“Brooke, why don’t you tell her that it wasn’t a poisonous snake and it was only after you put a shitload of spiders in my car.” Brooke giggled as she came to a stop. I caught his grin and chuckled before I could stop myself.

“Oh that was funnier than shit! I thought Matthew was going to piss himself!” Brody was laughing and watched as I tried, but failed not to laugh too hard.

“Yeah, well now my car smells of bug spray, so thank you very much! Ugh, I gotta run ladies. Coach will have my ass if I’m late the first week of school.” He reached over quickly and gave me a peck on the cheek, which sent butterflies to my stomach, and then he hurried off. To my surprise Brooke grinned.

“So now that he is gone I can ask you. Do you have plans for this weekend?”

“Not yet, why?”

“Well now you do. Tell your family that you are spending the weekend with me at my house. We have a party at the pack house this weekend. It’s gonna be awesome!”

I chuckled as Brody came flying into first period just as the late bell rings. He skidded to a halt and for a moment he reminded me of Kramer from Seinfeld. I covered the chuckle as a cough when the teacher glared at me.

Brody is seated right behind me and I whispered to him, “Running late I see.”

“I knew you missed me.” I blushed but shake my head.

“Nope, not even a little.” I grinned.

“Ouch Woodson, that really hurts.” My shoulders moved slightly as I chuckled.

After reading something on her desk the teacher got up and left the room. The class started talking. Brody was being oddly silent so I turned around to see what he was doing. To my surprise he was staring at me with a huge smile. Curiosity and distrust after hearing of his prankster side made me shake my head, worried that he put something in my hair. “What did you do?”

“It’s not what I did, but what I’m going to do.”

“What do you mean by that?”

“You’ll hear about it tomorrow, I’m sure.”

“What are you doing to Brooke? I’m serious, don’t make me have to kick your ass Brody.” His grin widened at my threat.

“There is nothing you can do to stop me!” He smirked at me like he had already won.

I leaned further over his desk hoping to intimidate him. He pretended that he didn’t notice that I was now sitting on top of my desk, until I was in the perfect position then he quickly stood up and pulled me into his lap. I inhaled sharply as the sparks exploded all over my body. Brody leaned down and kissed my lips softly while I was distracted by the sparks.

“B-Brody, I can’t …”

I pushed him down as I moved away from him. I grabbed my stuff and ran out of the room before he could stop me. I ran to the girls’ bathroom and splashed water on my face as I tried to calm my wolf down. She was mad that I took us away from our mate. I stayed there until just before the bell rang then snuck off to my second class before he could get out to find me. He rattled me when he took me by surprise.
