Summary

"Now I understand why you've been named Apple," he commented. It was a punishment being with him. The overbearing intimidation, the domineering personality, the tyrannising disposition, and an imposing physique. He didn't understand affection. He did understand ownership: complete and absolute ownership of her body, mind, and soul. When they were in public, he would just place his hand on the small of her back. It was enough to keep everyone away, no one looked at her. No one dared to. If he was scary without her around, then he was menacing in her presence. He was like a shield around her. His hand moved downwards, and he started to play with the folds. A soft voice left Apple’s lips, a sweet moan. He growled, and his speed increased more. The sheer fullness of him stretching her. Every time she thought she was used to him, he showed her she wasn’t. She could never have enough of him.

Chapter 1

He moved in and then out at such a speed and force. She gripped the headboard of the bed tightly as he fucked her from behind. She was on her knees, with him jackhammering into her body. He was rough, there was nothing gentle about this night. He wrapped his palm around her soft breasts. The grip was firm, and he snarled in her ear.

A tear slipped from her eyes, and she bit her lip to keep her moaning at bay.

The sound of skin slapping against each other bounced across the walls. There was no stopping him tonight. This was a way for him to prove that she indeed belonged to him, in every way possible.

It was a punishment being with him. The overbearing intimidation, the domineering personality, the tyrannising disposition, and an imposing physique. He didn’t understand affection.

The growing need in the pit of her stomach increased. A need to release the bundling energy in her core. A needy moan left her lips, and her lids fluttered and closed. She was pressed against the headboard. He moved his hand away from her folds and spanked her butt sharply. She whimpered but began to move along his length.

She was close to crying, the energy building inside her was now almost unbearable and painful for her to hold. He slammed into her, hitting a sweet spot and she arched her back, her mouth slightly ajar as she came. His calloused hands roughly grabbed her face, and his lips met hers as he continued slamming inside her. The kiss was rough too, she could taste his urgency. He growled loudly against her lips and pushed his tongue inside her mouth.

She sobbed as they kissed, the intensity of their love-making session was reeling. Her grip on the headboard loosened, she was spent. He pulled out of her and pushed her on the bed. Her eyes were still closed as she laid there. He groaned, a guttural voice as he pumped his seed on her stomach. She felt the liquid, and a gasp left her lips.

Then she heard him step down and she let the silence envelope her. The ache in her body bespoke the rough and tempestuous evening that they had.

She felt him hover above her as he cleaned her stomach. Her eyes fluttered open, and she looked into his deep onyx eyes that stared back at her. They were angry, so angry and her eyes instantly teared up. She slowly got up despite the apparent ache between her thighs.

Stepping down on the floor she winced as she bent down to pick her robe. She tied the robe around her and piled her long hair on top of her head in a bun all the while as tears streamed down her face.

“I have a long day tomorrow,” she whispered, “I would like to sleep.”

She turned to him and found him staring at her with that same furiousness as before.

“I bet you want to sleep,” he snarled, and she winced. She instantly stepped back from the bed in fear.

“Please,” she whispered.

He got off the bed and in all his naked glory and walked towards her.

“It has been two years, and you still persist with the same response,” he snapped, “we have been together four years, Apple. How much more time do you need?”

“I a-am not ready,” she sobbed.

“Why?” he roared, “I shouldn’t have fucking asked you. I should have slipped that ring in your damn finger when I felt like it.”

“Rome,” she hiccupped, “Romulus please.”

“Oh, don’t fucking take my name. Tell me, just fucking tell me a date, and I will put the damn ring on your finger,” he roared.

“Never,” she whispered.

“What?”

“I said... never,” she said in an increased volume.

There was silence, and she dared to look up at him. He was stunned. Tears streamed down her face as she observed him. Romulus Reginald Riccardo, for the first time she had seen him like this. Her heart ached and she felt like the silence in the room was choking her.

He said nothing but turned around and walked into the bathroom of her studio apartment.

She stood there in the uncomfortable silence. She couldn’t think.

He walked out a few moments later, dressed in his imposing pinstripe suit, like the businessman he was. He pulled out a small gift and threw it on the bed before walking out of the house and shutting the door behind him.

Apple staggered back. She couldn’t believe that she’d done that.

She and Rome had been together for four years, and she had probably finished that relationship. She had been thinking about it for the past so many days. He had been so incessant and forceful, he wanted her to be married to him.

Apple had always come with various excuses in the past.

“I want to graduate first Rome,”

But she was graduating tomorrow, and he was on the topic again. Graduation was never the reason to not marry Rome. It was the fact that did she want to be married to a man who was so scary! It had taken her a year to come to this decision of breaking things off from him. She felt like a caged bird, a scared and fragile caged bird who was finally stepping out.

She stepped on the bed and grabbed hold of the gift and at her own pace unwrapped it. It was a Chopard box. She opened the box and found a dainty necklace with a small diamond heart-shaped pendant. A tear fell and then another as deep-rooted sobs left her lips. She closed the box and covered her face.

She loved him so much.

FOUR YEARS AGO

Apple stood outside the club, she was not twenty-one yet. Her friends were already there inside, they had fake IDs. She, however, didn’t dare to do something so illegal. It was her freshman year, and everyone was partying and studying. She had always been the girl who had spent her entire life buried in books and painting, the only extra-curricular she knew.

She stared at the many college students effortlessly entering the club, so many of them were in her class. They didn’t even seem scared. Maybe because the make-up and dress they wore made them look mature. She looked down at her dress, while it was a beautiful short dress with sequins all over, it still didn’t seem convincing.

She looked up and found the bouncer staring at her. He brought his phone to his ear and walked in her direction. Her eyes widened as fear filled her system, did she do something wrong?

“Boss, there is a girl in the strapless gold sequin dress,” the bouncer said on the phone as he observed her.

“Yes Boss, she has the blonde hair,”

“I will send her inside,” the bouncer said, and he hung up the phone.

“I will escort you inside,”

Apple brightened up, and a shy smile appeared on her lip. The bouncer looked a little taken aback.

“Looks can be so deceiving,” he muttered under his breath.

She didn’t pay attention to what he said and began to follow him. She looked in awe at the neon disco lights of the club. She saw her friends dancing, and she was about to steer towards them when the bouncer’s voice stopped her.

“To the VIP area,” he said.

She didn’t say anything but followed him, continuously turning around to look at her friends who seemed to be having a great time.

She climbed the stairs, and the bouncer brought her to the exclusive area that overlooked the dance floor and bar. There seemed to be very few people in this section, and all of them were wearing expensive clothing. Some of the men had women sitting on their laps. She gulped and tried to shrug the uncomfortable feeling.

“Mr Riccardo,” the bouncer politely said to a man. He was in a group of three men.

Mr Riccardo turned to him, and Apple felt like someone had stripped her in front of a crowd. She felt absolutely naked. His black hair was messy like he had spent his day combing backwards with his fingers. His hooded eyes were sharp and dark. They had an intensity in them that had her taking a step back. The man reeked of dominance and authority. He was someone very formidable. She felt blanketed by his persona.

Apple quickly lowered her eyes, she couldn’t look in them for so long. They would steal her soul.

The bouncer left her alone in the presence of the man and his friends.

“That’s a younger looking girl Riccardo,” his friend said as his eyes travelled along the length of her body. It was lecherous, to say the least.

“She is, isn’t she?” Mr Riccardo said, “I will have to thank Madam Diane.”

With that, he patted his thigh. Apple just looked at him, confused and scared.

“Come here Penelope, that’s your name isn’t it?”

Apple wanted to correct him, she was not Penelope, she was Apple Winters. But like most situations in life fear clogged her throat here as well. Mr Riccardo took her hand and pulled her on his lap. She gasped and stared at him. She looked at his eyes, there was an undecipherable emotion in them. He wrapped his hand around her waist and turned to his friend.

“She is cute,” Riccardo grinned.

The friend kept looking at her.

“Madam Diane never disappoints,” he muttered, “I will have this one soon Riccardo.”

“After the night is over,” Riccardo said, ” and I will have to leave with this one.”

Apple’s eyes widened. What did they think she was? She was not an escort. Her eyes watered and she struggled to let a word out. They got up, and he pulled her out of the VIP area. They walked down the stairs and out of the club. An expensive car waited at the curb, and a driver opened the door for them.

He got inside and turned to her.

“Get inside,” he said to her.

She looked around, hoping her friends would find her in this precarious situation. She was terrified and unable to speak. This was a new city, a big city at that. She was a small town girl with very moralistic parents. She had a quiet, hard-working and middle-class childhood. She didn’t know the ways of this big city.

“Get inside,” he said again. This time he seemed a little bit agitated.

Apple stepped inside the car, she was afraid of defying him. The driver closed the door behind her, and she jumped at how sudden it was. Almost instantly she felt his lips on hers. He gripped her waist with both his hands on either side as his lips kissed hers.

They were rough, and for a moment the warmth of his lips comforted her, but the situation she was in had her pushing him away. He looked at her, his eyes expressed how angry he was.

He turned away from her.

“When we are in my house I expect you to do as I say, I paid for an entire night,” he snarled in her ear.

The rest of the ride was silent, to say the least.

They reached his home. He slammed the bedroom door behind them and stalked towards her.

How had she gotten into this situation?

He unzipped her dress, and it fell at her feet. She stood in her cotton powder blue undergarments and stared at him. Shock laced her body as she stood bare. Never in her life had she been so naked in front of anyone.

One tear slipped down her cheek followed by another followed by full-blown sobs.

There was absolute silence around her, and she looked at him.

“I a-am not P-Penelope,” she sobbed.

Mr Riccardo’s eyes became grave, and he pulled his phone out, dialled something and brought it to his ears.

“Madam Diane,” he snarled, “where is Penelope?”

She saw his stance turn rigid and his eyes moved to her. He nodded and hung up the phone.

“There has been some miscommunication,” he said, “you are not Penelope.”

She cried all the more. What would Mr Riccardo do now? He stood so tall and imposing in front of her.

“Who are you?”

But she merely cried like a child in front of him.

“Stop crying,” he roared, and she immediately stopped crying. She looked at him through her wet lashes.

“Now tell me, who are you?” he asked again.

“A-Apple Winters,” she said.

“Apple? That’s your name?”

She nodded shyly and quickly wiped the tears away from her face. She looked down at her toes that were curled in anticipation.

“What were you doing at the club Apple?” he asked.

“I wanted to e-enter, but I was scared,” she hiccupped, “my friends had all e-entered with fake IDs and I w-was scared to do so. Then the b-bouncer escorted me inside, and I thought he w-wanted me to the party.”

He stared at her with his dark eyes, they travelled down her body, and the hunger erupted in them. Apple gulped and hesitantly picked up her dress and covered herself with that. He sauntered towards her and cupped her cheek delicately.

“Apple,” he whispered her name, “how old are you?”

“E-Eighteen,”

“A college student?”

“Columbia,” she whispered.

He nodded and sat down on his knee to be more at her level. He leaned in and pressed a small kiss on her lips. She gasped. It was a gentle kiss, and she looked into his eyes. She felt the heat rush to her cheeks. He seemed to notice them too, and a small smile appeared on his lips.

“Now I understand why you’ve been named Apple,” he commented.
