“This is all your fault”
She desperately clawed at the hands as the grip got dangerously tighter. Hot tears streaming down her face. I cant breathe, oh god... Am I going to die like this?
“This is your fault...if you had just listened to me, things wouldn’t have turn out like this.”
She choked on her own sob, her vision getting blurry. She could feel herself growing weaker and weaker. Her mouth opened to call for help but her voice refused to come out.
Please... someone help me.
“I love you so much...Diana”
Diana jolted up from her bed. Her body was shaking, her lungs panting for air. The nightmare was still fresh in her mind. She could almost feel the fingers tightly gripping around her neck, squeezing the last breath out of her. I love you so much Diana... Those words echoed through her head, her chest getting tighter the more she thought about it. It felt so real... Ugh, it’s been 3 years. I should be over it by now.
An upbeat ringing interrupted her train of thought. Her cell phone. Shaking, she picked it up and answered it.
“H..hello? This is Diana speaking” she said, trying to keep her trembling voice at bay.
“Yes, Dr. Brown, I’m calling from the clinic. It seems we have an emergency and need your assistance as soon as possible...”
A sigh drawn out of her lips as she run her fingers through her bangs.
“Yes I will be there as soon as I can” she replied before hanging up.
It’s not like I was looking forward going back to sleep.
