I went and sat down next to Cooper and Sam. I knew Sam knew who Cooper was. I was amazed at how the two of them were together. Even though I felt like I knew who I wanted to be with. I still needed some time away. My plans to go to Florida were still going to happen. I needed to see Keven and get my things together. I also needed the time to make sure I was truly sure on who I wanted to spend my life with. "Cooper, I need to talk to you about a choice I've made." I said. He turned to face me. "I need some time to go out to Florida and collect my belongings and to see Keven. I need the time to make sure my choice is what I really want." I said.
"When do you want to leave? Do you need me to keep Sam?" Cooper asked.
"I'd like to leave in the morning. Please keep Sam for me. I only plan on being gone three days at the most." I said.
"Whatever you need sweetheart. Have you made the plane reservations yet?" He asked me.
"No, not yet." I said.
"I'll take care of it and get you set up with a rental car and a hotel." He said. I just smiled at him. Like always he was taking care of me. I reached over and kissed him. Sam grabbed my hair and gave it a little pull. I knew he was hungry and tired. I fed him and he fell asleep. I handed him over to Cooper and he put him to bed. I was sitting on the back porch with my mother. Enjoying some tea. When Cooper came out to join us. My mother was very kind to Cooper, even thought I knew in the back of her mind she wanted me to be with Hunter, but the two of them seem to hit it off very well. After about an hour of listening to them talk about everything under the sun. I started to get tired and so did Cooper. Cooper stood up and kissed my head. "I'll see you in the bedroom sweetheart." He said and left the porch. My mother stood up.
"He is a very good man Chloe. He loves you something fierce, I can see it all over him. I don't know what I would do if I was in your situation, But no matter what man you choose. Your a very lucky woman. They both will love you forever." She said.
"It's to bad I can't have them both." I said, joking of course. My mother just smiled at me. I sort of smiled back at her. I took a deep breath and look out at the dark ocean waves. I found Cooper laying in bed with his hat over his eyes trying to hide the light. He did that a lot. He laid there in nothing but his jeans and let me tell you. He was something sweet to look at. You could tell that he had years of hard work on his body and It did wonders for him. I couldn't help but lick my lips at the sight of him. He lifted his hat to take a look at me standing there.
"Hey baby, what are you looking at?" He said with a smile on his face. I bit my lip.
"Nothing." I said smiling like a school girl.
"Come here sweetheart." He said. I slowly walked over to him. He reached out for me and pulled me down into his arms. "Do you see something you like?" He whispered into my ear.
"Always." I said. I felt his lips on my neck and his hand on the zipper to my dress. "What are you doing?" I said smiling.
"Nothing." He said. I started to giggle has he pulled my dress down my arm. He started to kiss down my shoulder. I closed my eyes as he started to make my body come alive. He laid me down on my back and pull the rest of my dress from my body. I laid there in nothing but my panties. I watched him as he looked at my body up and down. His eyes were intense and I knew he wanted me. He looked me in the eyes and there was no smiling. Only the sound of both our heavy breathing.
"Please Cooper, I want you." I said. Almost sounding out of breath. Making love with Cooper was so much more different then being with Hunter. While Hunter was soft and seductive. Cooper was hard and erotic. Both men were amazing in their own ways. Hunter always wanted to please. While Cooper always wanted to dominate. They both turned me on in so many ways.
"Close your eyes Chloe." He said in a deep voice and I did as I was told. I felt him take control of my body and I loved every minute of it. The next morning Cooper had made all my arrangements to get me to Florida. I sent Hunter a text letting him know what was going on. We got all packed up and were ready to leave. I kissed my mother good bye and got in the truck. Cooper was taking me to the airport. We took off and had at least an hour in a half drive a head of us. "Sweetheart?" Cooper said.
"Yes?" I said.
"I know this ain't going to sound fare, but are you going to come home?" He asked me.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"I mean. I miss you and I don't want to lose you and I want you to come home soon." He said. My heart hurt from his words.
"I love you Cooper." Was all I could say at that moment.
"I love you too sweetheart. I'm sorry." He said. I reached out and placed my hand on top of his.
"Don't be." I said. We drove in silence for a while. I started to noticed Cooper kept looking at the rear view mirror. I looked out my side mirror and the only other car on the road was a large white SUV. It was pretty far behind us. I kept an eye on Cooper and he was still watching the rear view mirror. "Cooper, is something wrong?" I asked. He took a deep breath.
"I don't want to scare you love, but I think the car that's behind us is the same car that took you off the road that morning." He said. I felt a sting of fear inside me.
"Are you serious?" I asked.
"Yes." He said. "But I can't be too sure. That's why I'm watching it." He said.
"Cooper, Sam is in the car." I said. I turned to look at my baby. He was fast asleep. I reached out and touched him. My whole body was shaking. I couldn't remember anything about that morning and I still had no memory of the accident. I didn't recognize the car at all, but I knew Cooper saw the whole thing. I had to trust him.
"Were going to turn off this road and see if it follows us." Cooper said. I was so scared all I could do was nod at him. We came to a turn onto a pretty long road. The car was still pretty far behind us. It was going to take a minute to see if it would follow. Sure enough the car turned onto the same road. My heart fell into my stomach.
"Cooper, its following us." I said.
"I know sweetheart." He said and placed his hand on my leg to try and calm me.
"What are we going to do?" I asked with tears in my eyes.
"I'm going to try and get us to town and go to the police." He said. I took a deep breath. I was to scared to think straight. That's when I saw another vehicle on the road with us behind the SUV. They were both pretty far behind us still. I started to calm down some thinking maybe this car wouldn't pull anything with another vehicle on the road. I was wrong, all of a sudden the SUV was right up on our ass. I couldn't see the driver. It hit the back of our truck and made Cooper swerve the truck. I screamed till I saw the other vehicle come up and slam itself into the SUV. The other vehicle hit the SUV so hard they both flew off the road and flipped in the air.
"OH MY GOD!" I screamed out. Cooper quickly pulled the truck over. He jumped out of the truck and ran over to the other vehicles. I quickly checked on Sam who was still asleep. I got out of the truck and immediately recognized the truck that slammed into the SUV. It was Hunters truck. I screamed at Cooper. "That's Hunters truck!" As I took off running towards it. When I reached them. Cooper was pulling someone out of the SUV, that was upside down. I couldn't see who it was as I ran over to Hunters truck. He was slumped over the seat and not moving. "Hunter, Hunter!" I yelled out. "No, no." I said as I ripped the door open and went to touch him. When I felt a hand on my shoulder.
"Hold on sweetheart, let me check on him." Cooper said. I stepped out of the way. The tears were falling down my face and I couldn't control them. I watched as Cooper went over Hunter and tried to find a pulse. My heart was pounding out of my chest.
"Please Cooper, please tell me he is alive?" I begged him.
"Baby listen to me. I need you to call 911. Now!" He said.
"Is he alive?" I asked.
"Yes, but his heart rate is slow." He said. I ran as fast as my feet would go. Back to the truck to get my phone. I screamed at them to hurry. I saw Cooper pull Hunter from the truck and lay him on the ground. I ran back over and pulled my sweater off and covered Hunter with it. I placed his hand into mine.
"Please Hunter don't leave. I love you so much." I said as I ran my fingers down his bloody face. Cooper came and stood next to me.
"Sweetheart, the driver of the other car is dead. Its a woman." I looked up at him.
"A woman?" I asked.
"Yes, I need you to come over and see if you know her." He said. I took a deep breath because I didn't want to leave Hunters side, but I knew I needed to see if I knew who she was. I stood up and Cooper took my hand. "She is pretty messed up, but you can see her face." He said. We held hands as he walked me over to the SUV. We came around the side of the car and I almost passed out. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. My hands covered my mouth.
"That's Tracy Jones, Hunters ex wife and my ex best friend." I said.
