Chapter 50

The cops question me and Blake about my parents, but I don’t have to say much, since apparently my dad contacted the chief and warned him that they might cause some problems. The chief clearly recognizes me from when his son tried to charge me with assault after hitting on me at the mall.

I explain to the chief the reason why my parents are here after Will says they’ve been staking out in front of school for the whole week. The chief assures me that they’re keeping close watch on my parents, since they’ve been reported for scam before. It puts me at ease, but I know those two will not just give up.

One of the officers warns us that the people my parents borrowed the money from are actually loan sharks with some dangerous connections. And they’ll do anything to get their money back.

I wonder how much exactly my parents owe. Not that I’m going to pay it back - that’s out of the question, but I’m just curious what amount of money pushed them to look for me after all this time.

The chief gives me his number. If something happens or my parents contact me again, I’m supposed to notify him. The cops leave soon after that, taking my unconscious 'parents' with them.

After they’re gone, I go with Blake to Jen’s for a dinner. I’m not in the mood to cook right now. Will doesn’t come with us, since he has to go home.

“I think it would be best if you stayed at my house for the next few days.” Blake suddenly says while we eat. I look up from my plate, smiling gently at him.

“I think I’ll be fine. I don’t want to drag you into this.”

“And I don’t want you to stay alone. It’s not safe. You heard what the chief said, it’s dangerous.” He frowns worriedly. “I texted my dad, he said it’s okay, so you don’t have to worry about my parents if that’s what’s stopping you.” That Cakey… Damn him. I sigh tiredly. He’s not going to give it up, he’s way too stubborn.

“One week. Not a day longer.” I state seriously. This is not up for discussion.

But Blake seems to be satisfied with my answer, grinning widely. “Okay. Let’s go, we need to pack.” He pulls me from the booth after putting a few bills on the table.

Blake talks to Jared through the phone on the way to my house, telling him that I agreed to stay at their house and that we’ll be there in the evening. Jared, much to my surprise, sounds relieved when he hears that. When I ask him about it, he explains how he and Sam were worried about me staying alone. They don’t know about me being the Ghost, so they think I’m defenseless when I’m actually far from it.

I try to pack my bag, keyword – try. I’m constantly interrupted by Blake, who keeps touching me every chance he gets, kissing me or just wrapping his arms around me. I know he likes to coddle me and all, but I’m trying to focus on the task at hand and he’s really distracting. And I tell him exactly that.

“You know you love it.” Damn him, he’s right.

“Okay, I’m done.” I zip up the bag with a deep sigh. Blake picks it up and carries it to his car, while I look around my room, trying to see if I didn’t forget anything with Blake’s constant interrupting.

I secretly take some money out of my hidden safe while Blake’s outside then leave the house after locking all the windows and doors.

“Hi honey.” We’re greeted by grinning Sam when we arrive at Blake’s house.

“Hey Sam.” I start tentatively, but she cuts me off before I can continue.

“I’m so glad you agreed to stay with us. I would have been so worried if you hadn’t.” She hugs me quickly then goes inside with me and Blake following right after.

Jared also expresses how glad he is that Blake asked me to stay, joking about how he ‘does not want to deal with his son’s whining when he misses me’. I laugh at that, but Blake just nods seriously, agreeing with his dad’s words.

Jared and Sam go to bed quite early, since they have work tomorrow, leaving me and Blake alone.

“What do you say we have some fun before we go to sleep?” Blake whispers hotly into my ear, running his hands over my chest. That boy, I swear to god!

“You’re insatiable. We have to wake up early for school. I need sleep.” I whine when I feel his hands start to wander. Turning around, I straddle him before claiming his mouth. He’s cast some fucking spell on me, I’m giving in to him way too easily.

After our bath, we get ready to bed and it doesn’t take me long to fall asleep.

I wake up with a weight on my chest and a warm hand under my shirt. Blake.

I glance at the clock, seeing it’s not even 6 am, so we have a lot of time to get ready for school. But I can’t fall back asleep.

My cute Cakey seems to somehow notice I’m awake, pressing a kiss between my boobs through the shirt before snuggling into it. I laugh at his ridiculousness.

“Why are you awake?” He mumbles into my chest and I barely understand him.

“I just woke up. We still have time, so you can go back to sleep.” I softly tell him, running my hand over his head. He presses a kiss on the valley between my breasts before trailing his lips all over my exposed skin.

“Blake, if you leave a hickey, I’ll kick you in the balls.” I threaten when I feel him nip and suck on my chest. He grumbles something unintelligible and removes his head from my boobs before kissing me.

“I love seeing my mark on you.” He whines cutely, trailing his lips down my neck and collarbone before letting his head fall back on my chest. I run my fingers through his hair as I lie beneath him.

“And why is that?”

“It shows you’re mine. I want everyone to know you’re mine.” He mumbles, rubbing my waist.

“They do.” I assure him. I’m not lying, everyone knows we’re together, the news in this town spreads faster than an STD in a brothel.

I caress Blake’s head as he’s snuggled into me and after few minutes, someone knocks on the bedroom door. Sam peaks into the room and when she sees we’re awake, she gives us a grin, which Blake doesn’t see, still having his face buried in my boobs.

“I was just about to wake you up. Get ready and come for breakfast. Don’t want you to be late for school.” Sam laughs, looking pointedly at Blake.

“Got it.” I salute and try to shove Cakey’s half-naked body off of me. Unsuccessfully.

Blake suddenly wraps his arms around my waist, getting between my legs, then with one swift move he straightens up and kneels on the bed, pulling my body with him. I almost crash into his chest, completely taken off guard by his sudden move. He just grins cheekily, taking me with him as he gets off the bed before carrying me to the bathroom and putting me on the counter. He gives me a quick peck and leaves. I snap out of my stupor and go through my morning routine quickly, trying not to think about yesterday’s events that transpired here. Just looking at the bathtub brings a blush to my cheeks.

After I’m done getting ready, I go to the bedroom wrapped only in a towel, since Blake didn’t give me a chance to grab my clothes. I’m putting on my bra when Blake enters the room, already dressed. He stops in his tracks and runs his gaze up and down my body before groaning lowly, making his way to me.

“You are testing my patience, kitten.” He wraps his arms around me, pulling me into his chest.

“I’m not doing anything, I just want to get dressed.” I rebuke, getting out of his hold.

He watches me as I put on my clothes and dry my hair, and then we go to the kitchen hand-in-hand. Sam already has the breakfast ready and dished out, so there’s nothing for me to help her with.

“Good morning.” Blake and I greet simultaneously, sending Sam into a giggling fit, while Jared just chortles, nodding at us.

We eat in peace, with occasional small talk, then I take care of the dishes while Sam and Jared leave for work.

Blake drives us to school, keeping his hand on my thigh the whole way while I play with his fingers, enjoying the comfortable silence in the car.

I sigh as I take out my stuff from Blake’s locker, getting a questioning look from him.

“What’s wrong?”

“I don’t know. I just have a bad feeling.” I tell him. Something feels off, but I can’t pinpoint what. I’ve felt it when we entered school and it's starting to make me worried. I do not want to deal with any shit today.

But as usual, I don’t get my wish.

We’re having lunch with the guys from the football team when the shit hits the fan.

Smug-looking Victoria strolls through the cafeteria, aiming straight at our table, holding an envelope in her hand. I don’t get a good feeling about this. She’s supposed to be gone, her dad transferred her to a private school somewhere else, so what is she doing here? I do not like it.

“Well hello there, slut.” She smirks maliciously at me, ignoring the guys around us.

I school my face into a stone cold mask, regarding the bitch with no emotion. “What the fuck do you want now?”

“You messed with the wrong person, Clarke. Or should I say – Devereux.” I feel my eyes widen. How the fuck does she know that?!

“Surprised? – she laughs humorlessly – This is nothing for someone like me. But guess what else I found out when I looked into you. Just like I thought, no one wants you, bitch. Even your own parents left you. I’m guessing they couldn’t handle you being a slut anymore.” I’m almost shaking from anger.

“You don’t know what you’re talking about, Victoria, so shut your fucking mouth before I make you!” Blake seethes, tightening his hold on my hand.

“I’ve done my research so I know exactly what I’m talking about. – she spits at him before turning back to me – Little miss Devereux. Oh you poor thing, it must’ve hurt so bad when that man fucked you. I mean, you were eleven! – she taunts, loud enough for everyone to hear and I’m barely breathing at this point – I would never be able to do that! But I guess, having a whore for a mother means you were okay with that.” I’m almost panting as I try to regulate my breathing, while Blake attempts to calm me down with no success. I’m fucking shaking and I can’t stop it.

“Did he fuck you good? You look like you like it rough!” She continues, clearly enjoying the affect her words have on me.

“SHUT THE FUCK UP ALREADY!!! Guys, get her out.” Blake explodes, engulfing me in a comforting hug.

“EVERYBODY OUT!” Someone orders, but I’m too far gone to recognize who it is.

“Shh, calm down, baby. I’m right here.” Blake rubs my back soothingly under my shirt, pressing kisses to my hair and face.

Once I get my breathing under control, I lean back from him, clenching my fists in barely restrained fury. “Where is she?” My voice is hoarse and filled with pain.

“She’s outside, the guys took her to the parking lot.” I get up from my seat as soon as the words leave his mouth, heading straight to the lot with angry strides. Blake follows me wordlessly, knowing I’m about to blow up.

I see that everyone is outside, eager to watch the show that’s about to take place, completely ignoring the fact that they should be in classes now. I approach Victoria, pushing through the crowd, and punch her in the face, breaking her nose immediately. She cries out, falling to the ground, and I straddle her, keeping her there.

And I unleash my fury.

I keep smashing her face with my fists, even after she passes out, unable to stop. She should not have looked into my past! She should not have dug out my worst nightmare!

Soon I’m pulled off of the bitch by familiar arms, but during those few moments I had her under me, I pretty much crushed her face.

“Call 911! Everyone back to class!!!” Principal’s furious voice reaches me, but I don’t acknowledge him, burying my face in Blake’s shirt. He’s my only anchor to reality right now.

“Clarke, my office!” The bitch’s father addresses me, getting a harsh glare from me in response before I come up to him.

“You should have listened to me.” I growl at him, making his eyes widen. I notice someone tending to Victoria as they wait for the ambulance. I don’t want to be here when it arrives, so I head back to school to gather my stuff, intending to skip the rest of the day. I’m in no mood to face other people right now.

I tell Blake that I’m not staying here any longer and he understands completely, but unfortunately he can’t leave with me, since he has practice and the coach won’t let him skip. I assure him I’ll be fine then text Tank to ask if he wants to go out for a drink. I need to get my attention off this fucking thing. With a deep long kiss I leave Blake at school and head outside. I go around the ambulance parked in the lot, and make my way to the gate, where I’m soon met by Tank and his crew. They’re on their Harleys, all of them wearing leather vests. Right, they’re in an MC.

“What’s up, princess? I didn’t expect you to text me.” Tank dismounts his bike, leaning against it. He takes one look at me and scrunches his brows in what seems to be worry as he notices the blood on me. “Are you hurt?!” He asks, his tone frantic.

“It’s not mine. Do you know any place I can have a drink at this hour? I have to get fucking drunk or I will kill someone.” I hiss, barely keeping it together. Tank nods then glances around me with a questioning look.

“Where’s Blake? He’s not with you?”

“He has to stay for his football practice and he can’t get out of it.” I tell him.

“Fine then. Come on, you’re riding with me.” I arch my brow at his tone, but he just smiles at me.

The ride is longer than I anticipated and I have no idea where we are. The building looks like an old warehouse, with a bunch of bikes and cars parked in front of it.

“This is our club’s compound.” Tank notices my questioning look as I take everything in. “You can come here whenever you want. You’ll always be welcome here.” He tells me with a soft look on his face.

He leads me inside, and I’m met by a bunch of people staring at me in shock. They glance from me to Tank then back to me again.

“They know about me, don’t they?” I implore accusingly and Tank just smiles guiltily in response, his gaze apologetic.

“Sorry about that.” He apologizes and gestures at the bar. I take a seat on the stool, setting my backpack on the floor by my feet.

“What do you want to drink?” Tank asks after calling for the ‘prospect’.

Tank whistles and gestures at the guy behind the bar. I take out my phone and text Blake that I’m at Tank’s club, giving him the location from my GPS, since I don’t know the address of this place.

“Jeez girl, slow down!” Kevin laughs when I down my next shot. The guys keep me company, sipping on their beers while I drink my vodka, talking to them in between my shots.

“What happened? Whose blood is it?” Tank finally asks. I noticed he was curious, but I wanted to know when he would give in.

“This bitch showed up today. I got rid of her a while ago, and apparently she used that time to dig into my past. She came up to me during lunch and revealed everything in front of the whole school. She went too far, especially when she taunted me about my worst fucking nightmare. So I snapped.” I explain, not getting too deep into details, finishing my nth drink then lean against the bar’s counter. “She should’ve stayed quiet. I will not let that shit go.”

“What are you going to do?” Brandon questions.

“I’ll send her daddy dearest to jail.” I answer casually, the buzz from the alcohol calming me down slightly. The guys almost spit their beers, getting in coughing fits.

“How?!” Wrench, one of Tank’s club members, exclaims.

“Fucker’s been sleeping with a student from school. And I have proof of him having a child with her in secret.”

“What?!” I smirk at the guys’ dumbstruck faces.

“You heard me. I’m going to fuck them up. Those shitheads should not have messed with me.” I seethe, pouring myself another shot of vodka.

“You’re fucking scary. I love it!” Someone says, but I don’t pay attention to them, mentally planning my revenge.
