I was sitting in the cafeteria too when Cody made an announcement about what actually happened in Ivy’s case. Lauren was sitting beside me when it all happened.
I look at her in disbelief.
“How dare you do that Lauren?” I ask.
“Babe, listen. I’m sorry, I did all of this to save our relationship I-,” she said, before she continued I stopped her.
“No more lies. I genuinely wanted to apologize to Ivy for whatever shit I did and you do this to her. Tell me how many lies you have told me till now. LAUREN JUST FUCKING TELL HOW MUCH HAVE YOU LIED TO ME?” I scream at her.
“Noah everyone’s there here, let’s go somewhere private,” she said grabbing my hand.
“NO, LISTEN TO ME. I WILL NOT STAY WITH A PERSON WHO HAS SUCH OF A SHALLOW THINKING AND WOULD DESTROY SOMEONE LIKE THAT. WE ARE OVER LAUREN,” I say.
Everyone in the cafeteria hears me say it and burst into applauds.
I walk out of the cafeteria to talk to Ivy. I found Ivy with her friends Scarlet and Kate.
“Ivy, I didn’t know what Lauren did to you till Cody told. I am really sorry. I wasn’t aware of it. I just wanted to apologize to you and Lauren did that. I am so sorry,” I say and bot Scarlet and Kate got the sign to leave her when she nodded at them.
“Wait Cody told what?” she asked.
“He got tired of everyone blaming you that you cheated on Zach so he told everyone the truth what happened. I am sorry,” I say again.
“It’s ok,” she says, smiling.
That was the smile I missed. That smile should be worth a million dollars.
“And I broke up with Lauren knowing what she did to you,” I say.
“You did what?” she asked blinking her eyes in disbelief.
“I broke up with her because I can’t stay with someone who lied to me for so long,” I say.
“Oh, I am so sorry,” she said, holding my hand.
I felt butterflies in my stomach when her skin touched mine.
She had some power on me that I couldn’t resist.
“Hey why don’t you hang around with us?” she asks.
How thoughtful of her!
She knew that because of Lauren I let all of my friends go and now that Lauren is gone, I am alone.
“Sure and thank you so much,” I say.
“Look Noah, we both are going through a rough time. We need to have each other’s back, so let’s forget about our past and think about what’s going to happen in the future,” she says.
“Hi I am Noah Kavinsky, ex- captain of the basketball team,” I say handing my hand out.
“Nice to meet you Noah. I am Ivy Kennecott, the leader of the cheer leading squad of this school and I also play for the school’s basketball team when there is a shortage of members,” she said shaking my hand and she gave me that million dollar smile.
