Chapter 51

Zach’s POV:

“Ivy, like I always say, I knew that I was going to be yours since the day I saw you. I would like to thank you for not knowing basketball, because that is what made us what we are today. You were the most amazing, beautiful, caring and selfless human being I have ever seen. You have magic in your hands and smile which makes everything alright. I promise to always be your biggest fan and your partner in crime. I promise to create and support a family with you, in a household filled with laughter, patience, understanding, and love. I vow not just to grow old together, but to grow together. I will love you faithfully through the difficult and the easy. What may come, I will always be there, each one believing that love never dies. As I have given you my hand to hold, so I give you my life to keep. You were there for me during my lows and highs, happiness and sorrows but now since you will be mine forever, there will only be happiness in my life. Thank you for everything you did, Ivy” I say getting emotional.

She holds my hand, fighting back the urge to cry.

“Ms Kennecott, do you have your vows?” the Elliot asked her.

“Yes,” she says looking at me.

“Zach I still can’t believe that I am getting married to you even though I am standing on the altar and telling my vows to you. I feel like a silly girl whenever I am with you. I still get weak in my knees when I see you. Believe it or not I still am nervous around you. I never told you this but when we were dating back then in high school, I could see myself falling for you and getting married to you and that is what is exactly happening. You were there for me when I needed you the most. You saved my life. When I see you doing things to impress me, I fall more deeply in love with you, if that’s even possible. Trust me no one will ever love you like I do. Thank you for being so supportive, funny, caring, nurturing and the most handsome human being I have met. Zach, I love you. You are my best friend. Today I give myself to you in marriage. I promise to encourage and inspire you, to laugh with you, and to comfort you in times of sorrow and struggle. I promise to love you in good times and in bad, when life seems easy and when it seems hard, when our love is simple, and when it is an effort. I promise to cherish you and to always hold you in the highest regard. These things I give to you today, and all the days of our life.,” she says crying and I realize was crying too.

We exchange our wedding rings.

“With this, I wed you,” we say in union.

“Do you, Zach, promise to be a loving friend and partner in marriage, to talk and to listen, to trust and to appreciate, to respect and to cherish Ivy’s uniqueness? Do you promise to support, comfort, and strengthen him/her/them through life’s joys and sorrows? Do you promise to share hopes and dreams as you build your lives together, and to grow with Ivy in mind? Will you strive to build a home that is compassionate to all, full of respect and honour, filled with peace, happiness, and love? Do you promise to always be open and honest with Ivy, and cherish her for as long as you both shall live?” the Elliot asks me.

“I do,” I say.

“I do,” she says, smiling.

“Then I pronounce you Mr Ryder and Ms Kennecott as husband and wife. You may kiss the bride now,” he says and I kiss her.

Everyone cheers for us.
