Chapter 161

Elizabeth goes and takes her shower, as Brian lays in bed checking his emails. It takes her no time to come out, drying her hair. She sits at her wooden vanity and brushes her hair.

“I wonder if Ethan is still here, or if he went home,” Brian says.

“He is still here, he is staying at the hotel until the results come in.” Elizabeth answers.

“How do you know that?” Brian asks.

“He told me last night when he stopped by to say congratulations,” Elizabeth replies.

“I told him to stay away from you. Damn it, he couldn’t listen could he.” Brian says sitting up in bed.

“He told me that as well, he just said he wanted to say he was sorry. We had a good talk, nothing upsetting. He told me what he told you. He wants to make peace.” Elizabeth comments.

“And you believe him?” Brian asks.

“I guess. We are just going to have to see what he is going to do. I told him, I wanted him to respect you. Not call you lover boy. I know that bugs you. I also told him this child wasn’t his and he is wasting his time.” Elizabeth remarks.

“I am sure he took that well.” Brian snaps.

“He took it pretty well, I saw him in a different light. He was being real and not a jerk. He said some things that did bother me but I am not sure if they are true or not.” Elizabeth answers.

“What did he say? And why didn't you tell me you talked to him earlier?” Brian asks.

“I wasn’t thinking about him, we just took our child home. I wanted it to be about us. Not him. He said that our kids feel I picked you over them. That they were upset we got married and even going to have a child. They feel I gave them up.” Elizabeth responds.

“Well Sofia wasn’t very fond of me from the start, so I can see her saying that. I know we came along way. But I can see her feeling this way. I thought Izzy was ok with it. It does sound like something Ethan would say but who knows. Have you even told them the baby was born?” Brian asks.

“I called my mom, she knows. She has everything planned for next month to come to visit. I told her to keep everything the same. I was fine. I am sure she called and told them, plus they know Ethan is here. I am sure that is very confusing to them. They texted to see if I was ok. I just haven't had the time to sit down and call them. I wanted to wait until we got the results back, to be honest. So Ethan could go home and I can say it's your child.” Elizabeth reveals, walking over to the bed and getting in.

“It does seem that you don’t share as much as you use to with them,” Brian confesses moving close to her.

“Yea, I started that so Ethan didn’t know our business. It wasn’t really to keep them away or in the dark. It was just too keep him that way. I guess how they can feel I am moving on. I will give them a call and explain. I wish things didn’t have to be this hard.” Elizabeth says, cuddling up to him.

“I do too. I sure did miss this. I know it was only a few days but I have gotten used to your cuddles.” Brian admits.

“Me too, I feel so safe and warm in your arms. There isn't any other place I rather be.” Elizabeth confides.

“Same here babe,” Brian answers putting his head on top of hers as they both drift off to sleep.

In the middle of the night, Brian hears the baby get up. He gets up and grabs a bottle from the fridge and warms it. Taking it up to the baby, he sits in the rocking chair holding this little guy in his arms. Finally after all this time taking a good look at him. Seeing what his brother and Elizabeth sees. The child's eyes are just like his. It just takes his breath away how much this baby looks like he did as one. He feels so stupid for how he felt towards him.

“I am so sorry little man. I let a lot of bullshit flood my mind and push me away from you. I promise that will never happen again. You are my son and nothing and no one will ever take you away from me.” Brian whispers to the baby.

He stays with him for a while then he puts him back to sleep, heading back to his own bedroom. He slides himself back into bed and curls back up to his wife. Feeling a relief wash over him. This was his family, one he always wanted. One better than he always dreamt of. He holds Elizabeth close as he drifts back to sleep. Feeling calm and peaceful for the first time in months.
