Chapter 74 Thinking.

Chapter 74

After her shower, she goes to her room, locking the door behind her. Still thinking about everything that has taken place. In the morning, she had to put on a show, and try to make things look normal to her daughters and her mother. Then she would be on her way home. Her real home, the one where she felt safe and loved. Being with the person, she adored in every way.

She sat there thinking, about how she was going to explain all the bruises to Brian. Does she tell the truth? Or lie? She wasn't sure.

If she tells him the truth, it could lead to bad things. She knows he wouldn't be happy with this at all and want to go after Ethan. That would only make a splash and she didn't want that. She wanted to move on, make a life for them both. Going after Ethan for this, wouldn't change that it happened. Wouldnt fix the hate she feels. It would only get the man she loved into trouble.

If she lies and doesn't say, its something looming over them. She has always been truthful to Brian and wanted it to stay that way. Not wanting to break everything good that they now have. Just if she did say, would he look at her the same? Or look at her with disgust that she now looks at herself with? Would he hate her for not listening to him? So many things were running through her mind, she couldn't get a wink of sleep. She just lays there, curled up in a ball thinking about everything.

When morning comes, Elizabeth gets up and out of bed, going to the bathroom to get dressed and put on makeup. Knowing today she is going to have to put on a performance of her life. She gets her makeup and does her best to hide the marks on her wrists, the marks that only remind her of everything that took place.

While she is getting ready, her phone rings, she knows its Brian. She just isn't sure, she can talk to him. She also knows she can't let it go to voice mail. She never does that to him. She is always so happy to hear from him, she picks it up at the first ring. He would know something was up.

“Hey,” Elizabeth says trying to hold back her tears.

“Hey babe, Do you want me to pick you up at the airport today? I miss you and can’t wait to see you.” Brian says.

“No, I have to head to NY to talk to Monica. She texted yesterday, saying she needed to see me. So I will be going there before I come home.” Elizabeth states.

“Babe are you ok?” Brian asks.

“Yea, Why?” Elizabeth responds.

“Your voice seems shaky. Did something happen.” Brian replies.

“No, I will talk more when I get home. I love you, Brian. I want you to know that.” Elizabeth states.

“I know, and me you. How long will you be in NY?” Brian asks. Still wondering what is going on. He knew her well by now, her tone, her way. He saw something wrong right off.

“Not long, just a few hours. I will be home mid-afternoon. I will see you for dinner.” Elizabeth comments.

“Ok, Since your going to be in NY why don't you stop by the office. We can go home together. The Agency isn't that far away from where I work.” Brian answers.

Elizabeth's mind jumps everywhere. Could she hold it together to do this? Not make anyone see or know that deep inside parts of her are dying? Then she remembers, Ethan saying how cold she can be, never showing emotion at times. She would have to use that to her benefit to get through this.

“Ok, That sounds like a good plan. I will see you then.” Elizabeth remarks.

“Ok babe, I want you to tell me what is going on once we are home. You don't sound like yourself at all.” Brian says.

“I guess, you know me too well huh? ” Elizabeth answers.

“Yes, I love you. I pay attention and I want you to know, I am here for you.” Brian replies.

“I know. I have to go, I want to get ready so I can get out of here.” Elizabeth states.

“Ok. Talk to you later.” Brian comments.

Brian isn't sure what's going on, he just figures that Ethan and his family said things to hurt her. To put her down like they always did. He would never imagine the truth that took place. Then would anyone?

Brian wishes this would be the last time, she ever went back there. He hated Ethan already without even knowing all that took place. He hated Ethan for always hurting her, he wanted her to forget all the past and just concentrate on there beginning.
