Chapter 82 pushing past

Chapter 82 pushing past.

Brian spends the day close to Elizabeth trying to be there for her in every way she needs. He sees she is a bit different than the woman he first met. She isn't as free in herself as she was. She stayed close to him during the day and talked to him, just no passionate kisses or touches or anything of that kind, like she used to. He knows what Ethan has done to her, hurt her and set their life back. He knows it's going to take a lot to regain all the trust she used to have. It just makes him hate Ethan even more.

Feeling more and more that he was and is interfering in their relationship, and at the same time hurting her. He never expected Ethan to go this far, this was unforgivable. He didn’t only take away parts of Elizabeth he was at the same time, making their relationship suffer. He knew it would be a while to regain what they had, he was losing it and it wasn’t even his fault. He knew he was going to have to be patient, and go slow. He was fine with that, he just hoped, in the end, they could get it back.

That night they head to bed, he sees Elizabeth go into the bathroom to get ready for bed. He just gets ready and slides into bed, wondering if those Flannel PJs would be back or if she would feel more at ease with him, now that she told him the truth. He still hasn't seen the marks on her wrists or anywhere else. Trying to take it slow and let her show him. Not even wanting to see what Ethan did because he knew it would set him off and he wouldn't be able to obtain himself.

Elizabeth walks into the bedroom wearing her normal sleepwear. A pink satin Capri PJs set. The top a tank with spaghetti straps, showing off her arms. Brian sees she is trying to be her regular self not hiding from him, as she did the night before. He feels relief, that maybe their trust can rebuild faster than he thought.

Elizabeth gets into bed, making herself comfy. He does see she doesn't move over to his side like she normally does, which bothers him but he does understand.

“Babe, is it ok to cuddle?” Brian asks. Wanting to build trust and closeness

Wanting not to lose everything they had for one night that Ethan was a dick. He didn't want Ethan to win, and that same time he didn't want to push her. Or make her feel she had to.

“Sure, we can cuddle, I just don't really feel like much else,” Elizabeth says.

“That's fine, I just want to be close to you.“Brian replies.

Elizabeth curls up to him, laying her head on his shoulder and her arm around his waist. He sees that her legs stay on the side of him. Not wrapped around him like normal.

He also now has a good look at her wrist which is bruised. He just holds her hand in his, trying to keep his composer. Trying not to blow. Elizabeth falls asleep in his arms, which makes him feel good. He sees she feels safe enough to do that. It's a start.

Just at the same time, his hatred is building more and more. The thoughts that run through his mind are taking over. To he point, he can’t fall asleep even if he tried. Brian was normally a calm man, with not much getting under his skin. Just at the moment, he was filled with rage. He wasn’t going to be able to let this go.
