As the week goes on, things seem to calm down. Elizabeth is too busy getting ready for her family to visit to give Victoria a second thought. She and Brian have been close, doing there best to get what they had back in every way.
Brian remembers what Victoria said about late nights, and making Elizabeth wonder. He does his best to make sure he is home when he says he will be, calling her all the time. Letting her know she is on his mind.
For Elizabeth what bothered her most about Victoria was the fact that Brian never told her, and she walked right into Victoria’s plan. She felt that she and Brian shared everything, she was always honest with him, she wanted him to be the same way. Then she knew he was trying to save her, some grief it just happened to lead to some other. She let it go, feeling it was before her time. It's not like Victoria said she was sleeping with him now. What happened before her, didn't matter. It was just that, before her. What Brian did now is what mattered to her. She trusted him, she loved him. It's all that mattered.
It's the week that Elizabeth’s family finally comes, Elizabeth making sure that the house was spotless, and everything was in its rightful place. The house looked gorgeous with all the holiday decorations. It just impressed Brian at all she could do. He enjoyed the way she made the house, cooked and took care of him. He wasn’t like Ethan, he didn't take it for granted, he loved it.
“Babe, if you polish that table one more time, I think it the wood may come off.” Brian laughs.
“I just want everything to be perfect.” Elizabeth answers.
“Everything looks wonderful, I am sure your family will love it. Do they know we are engaged?” Brian asks.
“No, not yet, I want to tell them in person, with you. I am not sure how they will take it. I know my mom won’t care, it's the girls I'm scared of.” Elizabeth admits.
“Sofia did say she was going to give me a chance?” Brian asks.
“Yes, she saw that it wasn't your fault, that her father had a lot to do with me leaving. So I believe everything should be fine with her. She did call me and tell me she is taking her Fiance as well. He may have to sleep on the sofa. ” Elizabeth says.
“Or, the two twin beds in Tylor's room we give to Izzy and your mom, and the other bed in the office, Sofia and her fiance share,” Brian suggests.
“I guess, so We will see when they get here. It's hard seeing her as a woman when she is my baby.” Elizabeth states.
“I am sure it is, but she is a woman, now with her own soon to be husband. This means we will have to go to Wisconsin for their wedding, Doesn't it?” Brian says.
“Yes, I want you with me, but I am her mother I have to be there. I can’t let Ethan ruin that.” Elizabeth comments.
“I understand that. I don't like it, but I understand it. Are you ready to go pick them up at the airport?” Brian asks.
“Yes, I can’t wait to see them. They are the only part of my past I miss. I wish they were here more often.” Elizabeth replies.
“I know, I do too. You never know your mother may come to live down here.” Brian responds.
“I don’t know, she is very set in her own ways. I guess we will see.” Elizabeth answers.
Brian and Elizabeth get into their silver car and head to the airport to pick up Elizabeth’s family. Elizabeth is happy and also hoping that everything goes well. She wants the holiday to be perfect. It’s the first one without her in-laws. In her own home, with the man she loves.
This year she was going to do everything her own way. Without having to carter to in laws or anyone for that matter. Finally she was able to be free and be herself. Brian was happy with anything she came up with. He never wanted to hold her back.
