When Christmas is over, Elizabeth’s family heads back to Wisconsin. Elizabeth telling Sofia she will be there for the wedding in February. Not really looking forward to seeing Ethan again, at the same time wanting to be there for her daughter. She would have to put her feelings for Ethan on the side. Not letting on just how much she hates him. This was for her child, she had to stay strong.
In the meantime, Elizabeth made an appointment at her doctors. Needing something to make her stomach feel better. Its been a while since its been acting up and she feels its just all the stress with Ethan and Victoria setting it off. She hopes that the doctor can give her something to calm her nerves. She knew in January, she would be going on a few book sites and needed to be back to herself.
“Babe, do you want me to go with you today?” Brian asks.
“No, it's fine, I know you have a lot of work at the office. It's just a regular appointment. I should be back in no time. I will text you when I get home.” Elizabeth replies.
“Ok, I will be in a long afternoon meeting. So if I don't answer right away you know why, but please text me.” Brian answers.
“I will, you take care of what you need to. I am fine.” Elizabeth responds.
Brian kisses Elizabeth and heads off to work, knowing she always tries to make it that she can do it herself. That she will be fine. He liked this about her at the same time, felt he was there for her, She didn't have to have a wall up anymore. He just knows it's like what her daughter said, the past makes her current decisions. He just hoped that she saw that he was different, and there for her no matter what she needed, all she had to do was ask.
Elizabeth calls a cab and goes to the doctor's office not really thinking anything about it. Hoping when she leaves, it will be with something to stop how she feels. She gets there going in and taking a seat in the waiting room waiting for the front desk to call her name. How she hates this part of going to the doctors. The waiting, it seems like forever before they call her name.
Once they do, the nurse takes her in the back and draws her blood and asks her to pee in a cup so they can test it. Elizabeth agrees to go into the bathroom, feeling this part was stupid but doing it anyway.
She heads back into the waiting room, waiting for the doctor to call her name. Again feeling it was taking forever. While she is there she just texts Brian.
Elizabeth: 2:03 Just letting you know, I am in the waiting room waiting to see the doctor. I can’t wait for this to be over. I know your busy, I just thought I would let you know. Talk to you later.
Brian at the meeting not able to text her back but reading the text, knowing she is waiting to see what is wrong.
A few minutes after the text the doctor calls Elizabeth into his office. Elizabeth taking a seat, in the chair next to the doctor’s chair.
“What seems to be the matter Elizabeth?” The Doctor asks.
“I been having stomach problems for a while now, I can’t really eat I am always queasy. I think it's because of all the stress, I been under lately. Is there anything you can give me to make it stop? ” Elizabeth asks.
“Let me check your test results and see what we have come up with.” The doctor says. Looking at the record of the blood and urine tests.
“Well, I see what the problem is.” The doctor says.
“Did I give myself an Ulcer from all the stress?” Elizabeth asks.
“No, You're pregnant.” The doctor answers.
“Wait, what? I can’t be?” Elizabeth replies.
“The test we ran is positive, there is no doubt that you are. I suggest you should make an appointment with an OBGYN. That way you can make sure the baby is ok and also find out how far along you are. Your blood tests are fine and so is everything else. I would try to keep yourself calm. The baby doesn't need the stress.” The doctor states.
Elizabeth just nods her head, not really knowing what to feel. She never thought this would be what was wrong with her. This was a big surprise to her. Feeling she was older and it wouldn't happen like when she was young. Surprise, who said she was old? Things seem to be working just fine!
