Chapter 11

True to his words, after work there was a limo waiting out front for us. “Ready?” he asked.

“Does it matter?” I’m sure he’s going to force me either way.

“You’re right, it doesn’t. Now get in.” I glared back at him as he shoved me forward.

“Didn't your mother ever teach you how to treat a lady?” I slide into the back seat of the limo, surprised to see a petite blonde already seated texting away on her phone. Uh who was she?

“She did, lucky for me you’re not a lady.” He got in next to me. I moved over more when I felt his leg rub against mine. “Sophia this is Patricia, she’ll be helping you pick out a dress this evening.” Patricia smiled at me, then went back to texting on her phone.

“I thought you were helping me?” I asked before I could stop myself.

“I’m only there to judge what I don’t like.” He leaned back against the seat stretching his arm out across the back of my head, his cologne drifting into my nostrils. Why did he have to smell so amazing? “Unless you want me to help you strip.” I jabbed my elbow into his side.

“Not even in your dreams.” I rolled my eyes.

“I don’t have to worry about that. You come into my dreams fully naked already.” I gasped, staring up at him in shock. Did he really just say that?

“You’re such a pervert.”

“And you behave like a nun.”

“I do not!”

“Oh really? Shall we turn this into a challenge then?” he smirked down at me. If I was smart, I would’ve said no, but sadly my competitive side has other plans.

“What’s the challenge?” I knew I was going to regret my question the moment it came out of my mouth. Never make deals with the devil.

“Undress in front of me.”

“What!?” he had to be joking, right?

“You heard me, when you change don’t bother stepping into the dressing rooms. Unless of course, it’s against your religion.” I narrowed my eyes at him. Undress in front of him or be labeled as a nun? Was it worth the humiliation? I wasn’t shy about showing my body, it’ll be just like walking around in a swimsuit. But was it appropriate? He was still my boss after all. How do I know he won’t take pictures and try to black mail me with them later?

“Ok, on one condition. You have to sit there shirtless.” Seemed like a fair deal. If parts of my body were going to show, then so should his. Plus, I wouldn’t mind seeing him shirtless, I mean who would?

“If you wanted me out of my clothes so bad Ms. Deblanco all you had to do was ask.” He winked at me. I could feel my cheeks starting to get warm.

“Says the guy wanting a strip show.”

“If you don’t mind me interrupting Mr. Albergo, but we’re here.” Patricia spoke from across the limo.

He winked at me before getting out of the car. I slid across the seat to get out as well. I gasped at the place we were at. “Gucci? I can’t afford this!” I made to get back in the limo, when a hand wrapped around my wrist.

I turned to face Jax. “Which is why I’m paying.”

I shook my head. “I can’t let you pay that much. There’s a nice forever 21 in the mall, why can’t we go there?”

The look on his face made me feel cheap. I regret suggesting it now. Instead of replying he started to pull me forward. I sighed, I’ll just pick out the cheapest thing in here then. “Patricia get me a manager.” He took a seat on the long couch, pulling out his phone. Patricia scurried off to the desk up front. God he was so bossy, and never even asked. I took a glance around the store, cringing at the price tags. I should not be here. “Sit down Ms. Deblanco.” He ordered, not even looking up.

“We don’t need to do this. I have decent looking clothes at home.” I sat on the couch next to me, making sure to put a lot of distance between us.

“Decent is not going to pass as my fiancé.”

“Well luckily I’m not actually your fiancé.” I glared.

He looked over at me. “Until I say otherwise you are, and I don’t tolerate my women having attitudes.” He went back to texting on his phone. Who the hell does he think he is? And how many women did he have exactly? Was he still talking to those women while having me pretend to be his fiancé? Why do I care if he does or not? “Stop thinking so hard, you look constipated.”

“Well you loo-”

“Hi sir, my name is Natalie and I’ll be helping you today. Anything specific you’re looking for?” She stood tall and confident in front of him, dressed to pristine in a tight skirt and white blouse.

“Something that screams 'I’m not broke and on a date with my boss'.” He said causally. Why did he take shots at me every chance he got?

She looked thoughtful for a moment. What could she be thinking about? I doubt there’s an outfit that fits that description. “I have just the thing.” She ran off. I’ll believe it when I see it.

“Do you have to be an asshole all the time?”

“Remember Ms. Deblanco, you’re still on the clock.”

“I’ll take that as a yes then.” He leaned back against the couch, tucking his phone away. I leaned forward placing my elbows on my knees, resting my head in my hands. “I hope you don’t plan to sit like that at dinner?” he asked.

“Like what?”

“Like a child.”

I turned my head slightly to look at him. “I know you are but what am I?”

“I’m dealing with a child.” He got up from the couch, walking out the store. I smiled in satisfaction.

“Ok, here we are.” I looked up at Natalie standing in front of me. She was holding a purple dress out to me. “Try this on dear, I’m guessing you’re a size six?” I nodded taking the dress from her outstretched hand.

I sighed walking to the changing room. “Where do you think you’re going?” I looked back to see Jax standing in the doorway of the store, shirtless. My eyes drank in the delicious sight of him. His stomach was well defined, showing off a nice eight pack. He had nice tanned skin and I swear to you his chest was shining. Why did he have to look good and have a nice body?

“Um, to change?” As much as I was appreciating the strip show I was ready to get this shopping trip over with.

He crossed his arms across his chest, making the muscles in his arms bulge. Oh how I would love to have them arms hold me at night. From the look on Natalie’s face I could tell she was thinking the same thing. “Don’t tell me you forgot our deal?” My eyes widened. Was he seriously about to make me strip in front of him?

I looked around the empty store. The only people in it were me, him, Natalie, and Patricia. He wanted me to strip in front of all of them!? “I don’t think that’s a good idea.”

“It's too late to back out, I already removed my shirt.” He smirked. That he did, that he did. I couldn’t help but run my eyes over his body again. “So whenever you’re done eye raping me, I would like the show to start.” He sat on the couch. “Do you guys have a pedestal or something?” Natalie looked confused by the request, but went off to look for something anyways. I guess you couldn’t say no to a hot shirtless guy.

She came back seconds later holding a stepping stool. “This is all I could find.” Jax nodded in approval. She sat the stool down three feet away from him. I was frozen in my spot. When I agreed to this deal, I thought he was joking. He actually wanted me to strip in front of him!? “Hurry up Ms. Deblanco, I don’t have all day.” I glared at him, walking to the step stool. Turning my back to him, I begin to remove my shirt. Thank god I put on a matching lace set today. I unbuckled my skirt, bending over to push them down. I heard an intake of breath and smiled. Guess I’m not the only one effected by some skin.

Natalie handed me the dress and I slipped it on overhead. I was amazed at how it looked. Originally, I thought it was a plain purple dress. But there was a daring v neck showing cleavage, but not too much that it wasn’t modest. There was also a lengthy split up the right leg. Not to mention it hugged my body perfectly. Tight in the right places and loose where it needed to be. I couldn’t help but to feel confident and sexy as I looked myself over in the mirror. Natalie knew her shit, I’ll give her that. “Turn around.”

I did as he said, turning to face him. I was shocked by the look on his face. His eyes were full of lust, and he bit his lip slightly as he watched me. “This is good, pack it up.” Even as he spoke the words to Natalie, his eyes didn’t leave my body. He shifted his position and I blushed noticing the small dent in his pants. Oh my gosh did I really turn him on? By putting on a dress?

“Right away sir.” Natalie turned to me with an expectant look on her face. oh right the dress.

I made to take it off when Jax's voice stopped me. “Use the changing room.” His words sounded strained, I had to stop myself from laughing. Serves him right for making me strip in front of everyone. I slipped off the stool walking into the changing room. Making sure to sway my hips.

I was disappointed to come out and see he was once again wearing a shirt. We made our way to the front counter waiting as Natalie checked us out.

“Your total is $37,894.” I reached out to stop Jax from handing her the credit card, but he slapped my hand away.

“Behave.” He growled.

“That’s too much! I could get 100 dresses with that price. We’re not getting it!” I reached for it again.

“Don’t tell me how to spend my money.”

“Don’t tell me what to wear on my body then.” I pouted when he held the card over my head, handing it to Natalie. Why did I have to be so short? Curse my dwarf legs.

“As my fake fiancé your body becomes my body.” I could feel myself getting hot from his words. Why did he have to say things like that? And why did it effect my body? I wasn’t crushing on him was I? God I hope not. That would be bad for business.

“Thank you sir, have a wonderful day.” She smiled at him, sliding a piece of paper across the counter. Some girls have no shame. Here he is buying a dress for a female and she still shoots her shot. For all she knows we could’ve actually been together. Jax grabbed the paper and I frowned. Was he really planning to call her?

Sliding back into the limo I tried not to let my jealously get the best of me. I had no reason to be jealous. Why was I feeling jealous anyways? So what if I’m his fake fiancé. This is nothing but a business deal. He’s still very much my boss. Something he likes reminding me. “This is for you.” I looked over at him as held the piece of paper out to me.

“What?”

“On the inside it says, ‘hand this to the pretty brunette’ I’m offended it wasn’t for me.” I blushed taking the paper from him just to make sure. My blush intensified when it indeed said it was for me.

“Why does she think I’m into girls?” I was so sure she was into guys the way she checked out Jax.

“Maybe she assumed you were lesbian when you didn’t attack the half-naked guy sitting on the couch in front of you.”

“Or maybe I just have class and you’re not as attractive as you think.” I pulled out my phone to see what Aly was doing.

To Aly: Where are you?

“From the drool I saw running down the side of your mouth earlier. I’d say I’m very attractive, and that you’re very much attracted to me.” From the corner of my eye I could see him smirking at me.

“Not even in your dreams.”

“Playing hard to get will eventually get old Ms. Deblanco. Plus as my fiancé you’re expected to please your husband.”

“Fake fiancé, therefore, I don’t have to do a thing for you. And who said I was playing hard to get? Not every female likes you. In fact, I hate your bossy guts.” I glared at him from across the limo.

He shrugged. “Hate is just another word for when your love is too strong. Are you in love with me Ms. Deblanco?” I decided not to answer him. The guy was beyond delusional, living in a fantasy where only he exists.

“What time is the dinner?”

“8:00 sharp.” I looked at my phone to see it was 5:40.

“I need to go home and do my makeup.”

“We are heading to a salon right now. Once we leave there, we’ll head to my place to get dressed.” Go to his place? Alone? And strip? No way was that happening.

“I’m ok with going home.” I said.

“It wasn’t a suggestion.”

“Neither was mine.”

He sighed. “Must you fight me on everything? Going to your home is out of the way. The salon is right next to my house. Rather you like it or not, that’s where you’re getting ready.”
