Bonus chapter

I heard my mom’s laughter from the first floor. My eyes fluttered a little, but it was hard for me to open them. Last night I stayed up very late with Kate. I watched “Orange is the new black” with her. I laughed and cried a lot. Especially as I watched how Poussey was murdered. Somehow I started liking her much more than I liked the main character of this series. Kate snuck out of my room when it was almost 4 am. So it’s obvious why it is so hard for me to wake up.

I sat on my bed and looked at the watch on my bedside table. It was 9 am. Why does my mother have such loud laughter?

I stretched my arms and took my phone. Strange. No messages or calls from Drew. Come to think about it, and I didn’t talk to him yesterday at all. I was busy helping my mom all day. It will be her birthday tomorrow. In the evening Kate came to my house, and I stayed with her till the late night. Yes, I was busy, but why he didn’t call me. He was distant for days. It’s always been me who called him these past days. Ugh, I can’t think about it right now. I need coffee.

I jumped from my bed and walked to the bathroom. I washed my face, combed my hair, and got dressed. I chose my floral summer dress. I loved it and looked lovely in it. When I stepped outside the room, I heard voices and mom’s laughter again. What was that funny at 9 am?

I went downstairs, and as soon as I stepped inside the living room, my mouth opened wide. Drew was here. He was in a black t-shirt and jean shorts. His skin was tanned, and his hair became even bleacher than it was before. I guess it was all because of the sun. While observing him, I felt tingles spreading through my whole body. It was Drew’s effect. I was in love with him, and the understanding that this gorgeous guy was mine - was overwhelming.

Once my parents visited me in college, and I had the chance to introduce Drew to them. Well, I hadn’t had any choice. He made me call them and then invited us all to have dinner together. My mother was ecstatic about Drew. She couldn’t stop talking about his looks, about his manners and his wealthy family. She said I caught a real treasure to my nets. I honestly didn’t like what she was telling about him. But my dad was a lifesaver.

He was on his guard around Drew. He was observing him, asking him the right questions. At the end of the dinner, he was charmed by Drew. It wouldn’t be possible if he saw that Drew didn’t take our relationship seriously. But he did, and there wasn’t any doubt about it. He loved me just as much as I loved him.

Right now, my mom was sitting on the couch and hanging on every word Drew was saying. My boyfriend sat near her and was telling her some stories—something funny, I suppose.

“Oh, honey, you already up?” I heard dad’s voice and turned around. He was walking to the living room with two mugs of steaming coffee.

“Becca! Look who came to us! It’s Drew!” I heard mom’s shriek and looked at dad. He rolled his eyes because of mom’s behavior, but still, I could say, he was happy that Drew was here.

I walked inside the living room with dad. Immediately, Drew stood up from the couch and rushed to me. He took me in his arms and squeezed me tight. I winded my hands around his neck and pressed myself closer to him. I closed my eyes, letting his scent to envelop me.

“I missed you,” I whispered in his ear. He leaned away from me and looked me over. His lips stretched into a big smile.

“Me too, babe... That’s why I am here. Among the other reasons.” Drew quickly pressed his lips to mine and stepped back. I pouted my lips at him. He knew how I loved to be kissed by him. He shook his head and turned to my parents. Dad was on the couch near my mom.

“So, Drew, maybe now you will tell us the reason for your sudden appearance on our doorframe?” Dad sounded intrigued. Guess, Drew didn’t spill the beans while I was in my room.

“Well... Mr. Dawson...”

“Call him Henry. I told you this already. And I am Lydia.” My mom might be so annoying sometimes.

“Okay. Well, Henry, Lydia, thank you for letting me in that early in the morning. And for your hospitality. I honestly don’t know if your daughter told you this already. But I’ve been planning a surprise for her for a long time. She’s my first girlfriend and... I am madly in love with her, so seeing her happy smile is my priority.”

“Henry, what did I tell you? This guy is amazing for our baby girl!”

“Mom!” I needed to stop her. It’s starting to be ridiculous.

“Ahem... So, Drew, you were saying?” Thank you, daddy! I love you so much! Sometimes I even wonder how he can put up with my mom’s craziness. He’s a saint. It will be the only explanation.

“Yeah, thank you, Henry. Okay. Well... Becca, would you like to go with me to LA?”

I stared at Drew. Why does he mean by that?

“Yeah, my grandmother lives there. Her house is huge. It’s fuc... cough... freaking mansion! I told her about you, and she asked me if we could come and meet her. I said “yes”, but if you don’t feel like it... It’s okay... It’s not like you owe me anything...”

And I snorted. Can you believe it? I started laughing. My whole body was trembling with laughter. Then, I realized that except for me, every person in the room was silent. Drew folded his arms over his chest. Mom’s eyes were open wide in horror. And only my dad was trying hard to keep his face straight.

“Oh my God! Drew! Of course, I want to go with you to LA! I would go with you wherever you want as long as you will be by my side! Why were you so nervous about it? Did you already forget how much I love you?”

I saw his face relaxing. The tension in his shoulders was dissipating. The next moment I knew, his hands again wrapped around my waist, but this time - he kissed me for real. Like he kissed me a thousand times already. There was so much love in it, so I just felt myself melting to his embrace.

“Well... Okay, kids, that’s enough. Wait until you are alone.” My dad cleared his throat. When Drew and I finally stepped aside from each other, I turned my head to my parents and saw them both smiling at us.

“So, are you okay with it?” I asked and looked carefully at them.

“For how long?” Dad asked Drew with a stern expression on his face, but I saw his eyes sparkling.

“For two weeks.”

“When will you plan to leave?”

“Today, in the evening.”

“Hell, no!” My mom sounded almost angry, and I stared at her. Drew nervously shifted near me. I could say he was expecting something like that from my dad, but not from my lovely mother.

“How could you, Rebecca?! I raised you with so much love and care, and now this?!”

“Lydia, too much. You’re overdoing it.” Dad’s laughter filled the room, and my mom cracked. She started laughing like crazy until I saw her eyes watering with tears.

“Was I good?” She turned her head to dad, and he nodded at her. I raised my eyebrow in question. What was going on? “Don’t look at me like that, little lady. It will be my birthday tomorrow, and until it is over, I forbid you to leave this town.”

“Mom... I am sorry! I was so happy to hear about Drew’s surprise, so it’s just...”

“I know, honey. So, Drew, will you stay for my birthday?”

“With pleasure, Lydia! I just call my granny and tell her that we will be at her place on Monday.”

A few hours later, my parents went to the grocery store, leaving me and Drew alone in the house. Dad was reluctant to go, but mom dragged him with her. Before she closed the door, she winked at me, and I blushed. Ridiculous reaction, I know, but I couldn’t help it.

“So...” I said to Drew and trailed off. He walked to me and lifted me, throwing me over his shoulder.

“Where is your room?”

“Second floor.”

“I need more specific directions, babe...”

“First door on the right,” I said to him while he was climbing stairs.

As soon as we stepped inside my room, our lips were locked in a feverish kiss. My dress was thrown on the floor, and Drew’s t-shirt followed suit. Now I was only in my panties, while Drew stayed in his shorts. But I was sure as hell, that soon there will be no clothes between us at all.

Drew hugged me tight and lifted me a little. Only to lay me down on my bed. He nestled himself between my legs and entered me with calculated slowness. And I moaned because it felt so good. Seeing Drew’s reaction was priceless. He closed his eyes, enjoying every thrust.

“God, Becca... These three weeks without you were torture...” His voice sounded like a purr. “And now... It’s a bliss...”

“I missed your touches and your lips...”

“I am sorry, babe, but I won’t last long... Not when I dreamed about taking you to my arms almost every night...”

“Stop talking, Drew... Oh, God...” This time my moans sounded much louder because he was driving his whole length inside me, and his movements became faster. He was on edge, just like me. Waves of pleasure ripped through my entire body, and as Drew collapsed on me, I knew that he had his orgasm too.

Some time after, I was back in my dress. My head nestled on Drew’s naked chest. We were lying on my bed. His shorts were his only clothes right now. Drew’s fingers were combing my hair, and it felt amazing.

“Becca, I am sorry that I was distant these days. I had a lot on my plate, and it’s not an excuse, but I was exhausted...”

“You don’t have to apologize before me. You’re here, and we are going to meet your grandmother... I am still trying to get used to the idea that you never told me that she lives in LA or that you have a granny in the first place!”

“Yeah... She and an old man were divorced for decades... And I don’t see her much, but she’s an amazing woman, and I love her! It’s important to me that she will meet you. Because you are important to me too.”

“I love you, Drew Milton.”

“And I am the happiest man on the Earth!” He kissed the tip of my nose. “Tell me, Rebecca. Why your parents didn’t let me wake you up?”

“Oh? What does it mean?”

“Well... I spent yesterday with Kate. We watched one of our favorite tv-series, and she left the house around 4, I guess.”

“4 am?” Drew mockingly arched his brow at me.

“Yes, she snuck from my house just like some secret admirer.”

“Stop, Becca. You are giving me ideas, and I don’t like them.”

“Why? She’s my best friend!”

“With whom you were fooling around...”

“Oh my God, don’t tell me you are jealous?”

“What if I am? I don’t want anyone to touch you except for me...” His fingers traced his way from my hair to my butt, and he slapped it lightly.

“I am yours and yours only. The last time when Kate and I slept together was before college.”

Abruptly Drew sat on the bed and stared down at me. I saw his irritation. And it was funny.

“You slept with her? Is it your habit? To sleep with your friends?” He asked and immediately realized the meaning of his words. Now I was more than just pissed at him. The good thing was that he learned to read my emotions, and now he knew how I was feeling.

“Fuck! Becca, I am so sorry... I didn’t mean it as it sounded... I trust you, and I know that you’re loyal to me...” Drew laid back to me and pressed me to his chest. “It’s just... Logan...”

“What about him?”

“Honestly? He’s a fucking mess... He drinks a lot, he fights... Almost every night he takes a new girl to his house... It looks like I switched roles with him, and I fucking hate it! My best friend is hurt, and I can’t do anything about it!”

“He isn’t talking to me... I tried to call him, but he never answers...” I suspected that it got something to do with the kiss we shared in Drew’s room. But I cared about Logan and... I was worried about him. I know that I still have some feelings for him. Feelings I couldn’t understand or label. They aren’t strong, but they are real, that’s all I know.

“Fuck... I hope he will be alright... It will be our last year in college, and I want him to remember it. And to be happy.” Drew sounded that sad, so it was hurting me. I straddled him and kissed his delicious lips. I needed to take his mind off these grim thoughts.

“Tell me something, Drew... Tell me about your grandmother. I want to know about her. I want her to like me.”

“She already likes you. She said that girl, who was able to capture my heart, must be someone exceptional...”

“You’re flattering me too much. But I love you.”

“I love you too, Becca.” He kissed me again and leaned away. “What do you want to know?”
