Chapter 16

I woke up early the next morning and the sun was just starting to come up. Shit, I said to myself. I really need to get back before they realize I'm still gone. Who am I kidding, they know I'm still gone. Spencer had wrapped himself around me and was still sleeping. I needed to figure out how to get lose without waking him. The way he had a hold of me it was not going to work. I took a deep breath and just stayed still. "What's the matter?" I heard him say.

"Nothing, why are you awake?"

"I felt you moving. Is everything okay?"

"Yeah, I'm just sure they are worried about me," I said.

"Who?" Spencer asked.

"Who do you think?"

"Are you staying with the Bailey's?"

"Where else would I stay?"

"It's not safe there Page."

"Richard would never hurt me, "

"But if someone is out there framing him. Then your not safe." Spencer said. Oh shit, did I get through to him? This is a good sign, right? I said to myself.

"So what do you think I should do? Because I can't not go back. They will look for me." I said. I just wanted to know what he wanted me to do.

"Stay with me."

"That won't work Spencer. They will come for me. They think your framing Richard." I said. Shit, I shouldn't have said that. I thought to myself. Spencer just started laughing.

"That's ridiculous, why would I want to frame someone. I want to get the real killer." He said. "If you stay here with me. I will cooperate and help you figure this out." He said. "You can have your own room. I won't get in your way." He said. He was making this sound better and better. I needed someone to help to figure this out and who better to help me then Spencer?

"I don't know Spencer, but I have to go back there and figure out a way to do this without upsetting Richard,"

"So you will think about it?" He said to me.

"Yes, I will think about it. Are you going to be okay until I return?" I asked him.

"If you promise you will return?" He said. The smartass. I said to myself. I nodded at him. I crawled out of the bed and got ready to go. I said goodbye and headed back to the Bailey's. I pulled up to the gate and sat there for a moment. I really didn't want to deal with Vincent as I could see him sitting on the porch of the house. I took a deep breath and pulled in. I parked the car and Vincent had a pissed off look on his face. I got out of the car and walked on to the porch.

"Where the fuck have you been?" I heard Vincent slurring. Great, he is drunk. I didn't want to do this. I didn't answer him and instead, I kept walking. "I'm talking to you." He said as he stood up. I stopped and turned to face him.

"What do you want Vincent?" I said as I crossed my arms at him.

"Were you with him all night?"

"Spencer, that's who. Don't fucking play dumb with me Page." He said as he walked towards me. I took a step back. I didn't believe in my heart that Vincent would hurt me, but I still didn't take any chances with drunk Vincent. I still didn't answer him. "So you're just going to be his whore?" I don't know what came over me, but I slapped him across the face.

"You listen to me! I don't belong to anyone but me. If you ever call me that again. I will never forgive you, Vincent! Do you hear me?" I spit out. "Do I look like all the whores you bring home?" I shouted out.

"Well, your acting like one." He snapped.

"I don't fucking believe you!" I shouted back. That's when the front door flew open and Mickey came out on to the porch.

"What's going on out here?" He asked.

"Don't fucking worry about it Mickey. Go back inside." Vincent shouted.

"I think maybe Page should come with me," Mickey said as he placed his hand on my arm. Vincent lost his shit.

"So you're after her too, Fuck Page so I guess you're just everyone's little whore." He snapped. I lost my shit and ran right for him. Mickey grabbed a hold of me. As I was screaming at Vincent and kicking at Mickey. Mickey walked me through the house as I was still screaming and Richard came out of his room.

"What's wrong?" Richard said following us.

"Vincent, that's what's wrong. He is on the porch." Mickey said.

"You tell him when I get my hands on a gun. I'm going to shoot him in the ass!" I screamed as Mickey took me into my room. "Put me down Mickey!" I yelled out. Mickey sat me on my feet.

"Lison to me Page. You need to calm down!" He snapped at me. I rolled my eyes and took a seat on my bed. "What happened?" He asked me.

"He called me a whore." I snapped. "I'm not one of his bitches. He doesn't get to talk to me like that." I don't think I have said this many cuss words in my whole life.

"Well, it's not smart for you to go after him. He could snap you in half." Mickey said as he took a seat next to me.

"I'm not scared of him. I'll kick his ass." I said. Mickey just nodded his head at me.

"Yeah, I totally think you could take him," Mickey said.

"Don't be a smartass, Mickey." I snapped.

"Come on Page. What is this really about? Think about it." He said.

"What do you mean?"

"You really think he thinks that about you?" He asked me. "The man is hurting over you." He said. I just looked at him for a moment.

"Hurting? Do you think he is hurting? How about the woman he had last night?"

"Okay well, that looks bad, but it's been a long time since you and him were together. Men have needs, Page." He said. I don't even know why that had even upset me in the first place. I mean Mickey was very right. It had been a very long time. Vincent was free to do as he pleased, but he still had a shitty way of showing it. I said to myself. "Your right he should not have called you that, but I promise you he didn't mean it. Besides once he knew you were here. That woman didn't stay long." He said. I had nothing more to say. "Where were you last night Page, because Richard is going to ask you?" Mickey said. Before I could answer him Richard came walking in. Normally he always knocks, but he didn't this time.

"Where were you?" He asked me. Great, now I have to deal with his issues. I took a deep breath.

"I was with Spencer," I said softly. I will not lie or disrespect Richard.

"I warned you to stay away from him," Richard said. "Mickey, you can go." He snapped. I gave Mickey a, help me look. Mickey smiled at me as if to say, good luck, trader.

"Richard, I'm trying to help here. I needed to talk to him."

"First of all, I don't need your help Page. Second, if you went to talk to him, how come you're just now getting home?" He asked me.

"Because he was a mess and I don't mean like just upset. I mean like really bad off and I was worried to leave him alone. Besides Richard, I don't ever mean you any disrespect, but I'm a big girl. I can handle myself."

"That is not the point. The point is what's going on right now. His man was killed, Page. By someone, we don't know. You could possibly be in danger and your talking with the enemy." He snapped.

"I'm telling you that I believe that you both are very innocent in this. Spencer is no threat to me." I said.

"What if he uses you to get back at me?”

"If he was going to do that. He had plenty of opportunities to do that last night and he didn't." I said. Richard was quiet for a moment. "I'm sorry to say this and I'm sure it's going to upset you, but I'm going to figure this out one way or another, but if Vincent calls me a whore one more time. I'm going to shoot him." I said with my arms crossed.

"He called you that?" Richard asked sounding surprised.

"Yes, yes he did. He is lucky Mickey was out there. I was going to kick his ass." I said. Richard got a huge grin on his face. I through my hands up. "Why does everyone think I can't, damn it. I'll kick his shit!" I yelled.

"Right princess. If you say so." He said. "Calm down, he is drunk and not thinking. I'll have a talk with him."

"You tell him I said to stay the hell away from me." I snapped. Richard kissed my forehead and walked out of the room. "MEN!" I yelled out. I got up and headed to the shower. Now I've got to figure out how to get out of here and stay with Spencer. This wasn't going to be easy.
