As we were kissing something just didn't feel right. I knew I had made a bad choice. I was giving him false hope. I pulled my lips from his. I had to make sure I had no other feelings for him but friendship. "I'm sorry Aiden, this isn't right," I said. He just smiled at me.
"It's okay Page. I know why you're doing this." He said. I moved back to my sleeping bag.
"You do?" I said. He nodded at me.
"I know you're trying to figure shit out." He said. "I'm just not the one and that's okay. I can't blame you for that." He said. He was really a good friend and I hoped with everything that I had. That it wasn't going to change us.
"I'm sorry Aiden," I said again. He just looked over at me.
"We're going to be okay Page, really." He said and then he got quiet. I knew I shouldn't have done that, but I had to make sure. I knew I loved Aiden, but I didn't love him like that. At least I could put that wonder to rest. Now I needed to know other things and I had to figure out how I was going to handle that. The next morning things between Aiden and I were the same as always. He was really a very selfless person. I knew that he cared more for me then I did for him, but he didn't treat me any differently. We pulled up to my apartment and he got out of the car to help me with my things. "I'm always going to be here for you Page, remember that." He said. I reached over and kissed his cheek.
"Thank you so much, Aiden," I said. He smiled at me and left. I got inside and tossed my things to the couch. I plopped myself down and just took a deep breath. Nothing in my life could just be easy. Who the hell did I love? I asked myself. Do I even know him yet? Did I even love the other two men that I knew? Hell, I was going to drive myself crazy thinking about all of this. I need a good night out. I need to get drunk. I said to myself. I needed to call Abby. Abby and Chris showed up.
"You know what we need?" Chris said. Abby and I looked at her. "A night of dancing and drinks," Chris said. Abby smiled and started to clap.
"Just us girls, let's hit some clubs tonight," Abby said. I had told Abby and Chris all about what happened with Aiden and me. They were such good friends being understanding. I really felt sometimes like I didn't deserve them. I was super excited that us girls were going out tonight. I really needed this. I wasn't going to worry about anything tonight. Whatever happens, happens. I just might hook up with a random stranger and I don't give a shit what anyone thinks. Abby and Chirs left to get ready and we're going to be back later that night to pick us up. I dressed in a tight little black dress and high heels. I left my hair down and did my makeup dark. My blue eyes popped. I was going to make this night about me. I was ready to be a slut tonight. I laughed to myself. I just want to live and feel alive for once. Abby and Chris showed up and they looked hot. Three hot ass girls going out tonight. I could tell we were going to be trouble. We got outside and called a cab to us.
"Okay so don't be upset, but I got us on the list for Coster," Chris said.
"Coster?" Abby said.
"Am I missing something?' I asked. Abby turned to look me.
"It's only the hottest and richest club in town right now. Only the finest people party at this club and it's impossible for anyone to get in. How the hell did you pull that off Chris?" Abby asked her.
"I have my ways." She said. She probably slept with the doorman. I said to myself.
"This is really going to be a good night," Abby said. Chris told the cab driver where to go and I sat back. I took a deep breath and smiled. We pulled in front of this club and the lines were going around the building. There were two huge spotlights outside. I got excited. The cab stopped and we got out. I stayed close to Abby and Chris. We walked right up to the doorman and Chris gave him our names. Sure enough, we were let right in. The place was amazing. You could tell this place was made for the rich and famous. The place was cover in gold. People were drinking and dancing. Everyone in this place looked very fancy. I felt out of place. We made our way over to the bar and Chris ordered us drinks. I turned around to look at everyone as I leaned back against the bar.
The men in this place were very good looking. I said I was going to be a slut tonight and I damn well meant it. I bit down on my lips as I scanned the room. My eyes fell upon a very sexy looking man talking with some other guys in the far corner of the room. I did love a man in a suit. He was smiling and having a drink. His hair was dark and in a neat mess. He had a close saved beard and from what I could tell he had dark eyes. Now I wasn't looking for Mr. Right. I was just looking for Mr. right now. Chris turned and handed Abby and me our drinks. "Come on I want to dance," I said. They both nodded at me and followed me out to the dance floor. The guy hadn't noticed me yet and I intended on changing that. The three of us started to dance. I kept my eye on him as I moved with my girls on the dance floor. He finally turned and scanned the dance floor. I kept my eyes on him until his eyes found mine. Damn, he was hot. His eyes stayed on mine and I bit my lip at him. He said something to his friends and then started to walk onto the dance floor. He made his way right over to me. "Hello." He said to me.
"Hi," I said back to him.
"I'm Hank." He said. Okay, I can get past the name because he is hot. I said to myself.
"I'm Page," I said. He smiled at me.
"Would you like to dance?" He asked me. I nodded at him and he took me in his arms. I was so getting laid tonight. I wrapped my arms around him and we started to move. "Your very beautiful Page." He said in my ear.
"Thank you," I said back. We continued to move and he was a very good dancer. We dance for a very long time. I had lost Abby and Chris. I mean I never left the dance floor, but they were nowhere to be seen. I just kept dancing.
"Tell me about yourself Page?" Hank asked me.
"I'm a college student studying law. How about you?" I asked him. I work for a large company here in New York." He said.
"I figured you were a businessman," I said. He smiled at me.
"What gave it away?" He asked.
"You just have that look about you," I said. He nodded at me. Then a fast upbeat song came on and we both started to move to the music.
"Do you want to get out of here soon?" He whispered in my ear. I nodded at him and he then went to turn me out and I lost his hand. I almost fell to the ground, but I stopped myself against someones very hard chest. His arms went around me to hold me up from falling.
"I'm so sorry." I started to say as I looked up into the most familiar eyes. My breath caught in my tharot and my heart stopped. "Spencer?"
