Chapter Twelve

I had my mind else where during the movie premier. Between my friends congratulating me, the fans, and the press trying to talk to me I hadn’t given much thought to my parents coming tonight.

I was dreading having my parents stay at Matty’s and my first real home. And I was probably dreading the situation more than I should be, but I’m nervous with what they might think. Ever since I told them I was I was pregnant at fifteen years old, they always looked down on me and they still do to this day when Kelia and I would visit for a weekend.

They just think they got better at hiding it.

But they haven’t.

“Hi, Kiera! Can I have a minute to ask you a few questions?” a younger reporter with a microphone and her cameraman approached me while I was standing around with a group of my friends and Matty.

“Of course,” I turned away from her and to my girls, “I’ll be right back.”

“Thank you so much for giving us your time, my name is Kate Rivera and I have my own personal blog on YouTube. Everyone who watches my channel knows you’re my idol and that I’m your number one fan. I was just wondering if I could quickly interview you for my channel?” she held the microphone towards me as she finished speaking.

She was young, probably sixteen or seventeen years old. She had a pixie cut hairstyle with rose gold hair and she had honey brown eyes that shined from all of the cameras that were flashing on us. She wore a plaid pink and white long sleeve button up with a white tee shirt underneath with high waisted black shorts. I have to admit, she’s got style.

“Of course, I don’t mind. How many subscribers do you have?” I got into my interview character.

“I’m at nine hundred and sixty six thousand, I know this interview will send my views off the charts. I freaking love you, dude.” she started getting excited. “We have an entire fan base just for you, with myself being president of The Kitty community.”

“Well I’m happy to help you out, as long as it’s a good video.” I joked with her. “I didn’t even know you guys had a name for yourselves.” it was so cute.

“Okay. I asked some of my subscribers to ask some questions they’d like me to ask you along with some of my own.”

“Lay it on me.”

“Okay, this is my first question. How did you get discovered?”

“Well, it was my first day of senior year and I was in a coffee shop with my best friend an. We were in line behind my manager, Jackie, and we overheard her in front of us fire someone over the phone. It was actually kind of like a movie itself, she turned around, eyed me down and actually asked me if I was ever interested in modeling and it just took off from there.”

“What do you have to say to Jackie and your fans?” she held the microphone towards me.

“Honestly? You never get to live a day over again, if you see an opportunity that can bring you happiness jump on it no matter the age. I wanted to be a doctor when I was in high school, and now I’m a model and movie actress because of Jackie and my true fans. My main motivation was my boyfriend and daughter, and I used that as my power up. If you find the right motivation and put your mind to it, you can achieve just about anything. No matter the type of environment you grow up in, you should never stop trying.”

She brought the camera back to her, “That’s so sweet and really inspirational. I can honestly say you have made a huge impact in this world, just yourself and now you have Matty to help you with that. Rumor has it you guys are taking a small trip to South Africa to help with the damages, can you confirm that?”

“Yes, we’ve actually been talking about doing it for a while and now we leave in two weeks to not only help with supplies and medical teams but we are also helping rebuild what we can. We are covering most costs but I’ve received many donations from not only the president but also my friends and fans on a GoFundMe page I had set up.”

I was excited for the trip. I hadn’t wanted to take Kelia because it was Africa and she had never been exposed to that kind of heat and my main worry was her asthma that gets bad when she starts to overheat.

“Are you taking Kelia with you guys?”

“We weren’t going to but we actually decided to bring her with. I thought about it and it’s a great opportunity for her to learn about different cultures in the world and meet new people from around the world. Plus, I couldn’t handle being away from her for three months.”

“I bet she’s going to love that, I know if I was given the opportunity I would jump on it immediately. I think it’s great what you do. I could tell by everyone’s faces that the movie was amazing and they loved it, what do you have to say for it?”

“Make sure you have your snacks and drinks before you start because you aren’t going to want to get up.” I started laughing at the funny scenes that Luka and I had played out together.

“Well I know we are all excited to see it. Did you and Luka have any chemistry throughout shooting? Was it ever awkward because of the rumor that had started about you two?”

“There was chemistry, but not the kind of chemistry anyone is thinking. He’s more of a best friend kind of person, he has such a great personality and he is so funny. I loved shooting with him, he would always find a way to make me laugh when I was stressed the most and that’s all we are—best friends.”

I loved that I could be open and honest with my fans and they would all be able to tell if I was telling the truth or not. And I could always count on them to spread the word on the good things happening in my life. Besides, I’m only trying to make a difference in this world all while making a living for my family.

“Last question, when are you and Matty getting married and having more babies? That was insanely the most asked question.” she laughed before turning the microphone towards me again. “And I’d be lying if I hadn’t wanted to know myself.”

“We aren’t rushing anything, if it happens then it happens I guess. But I can promise you I’m just as nervous as you guys are as to when he is going to ask me.”

“Thank you so much for this opportunity, it really means a lot.”

“Of course, don’t forget to tag me on Instagram.”

I left with a smile and I walked back over to Matty who was standing with the girls and their dates. I was generally happy and my mind was taken off of my parents during the interview but now I’m back to square one. I guess I’m going to have to get over it, because whether I like it or not they are staying the two nights at my house and Matty swore it would turn out well.

Let’s just hope he’s right.

“Hey babe.” Matty wrapped his arm around my waist and kissed my cheek.

“Hey, girl.” Hailey and Zendaya greeted me with Matty.

“Hey, guys. Are you coming to the party sunday?”

“Yes!” Hailey shouted at me in excitement.

“Jeez, calm down girl.” Zendaya teased.

“Sorry, but being in the house with Justin and the kids all the time is driving me nuts. I need a night where Justin and I go out alone.” she started to turn red from embarrassment.

“We’ll be there.” Zendaya turned to me and nodded as she started laughing at Hailey.

“We are going to head home, our parents should be landing in the next thirty minutes so we are going to get cleaned up to meet the caterer.” I separated from Matty’s side and brought Hailey and Zendaya in for a group hug. “Thank you so much for coming. It means a lot to me.”

“You’re kind of our girl, so yeah.” Zendaya said.

I pulled away from them and I blew kisses to them with my hands and I connected my hand with Matty’s before walking away.

It’s time.

My parents are here in the city and will be arriving at my house in a good ten minutes. We had picked up Kelia from Allen’s and Roxy’s house on our way home and we met with the caterer outside.

If it were up to me I would have had them stay at a hotel and pay for their food on my behalf so I didn’t have to worry about them judging every aspect of my home or snooping in the night. But again, Matty insisted they stay here and they agreed to it.

I decided to brush my hair out and double Dutch braid it instead of leaving it down but I left my makeup on because it looked too good for it to only be on for a couple of hours. Carlos and Jenny perfected me and I look too good.

“Babe?” Matty scared me from my thoughts and I jumped while looking in the mirror at his reflection. “You okay?”

“Jeez, you scared me.” I grabbed my heart as it skipped a beat.

“Sorry.” he walked in and shut the door behind him. “You okay?”

“Yeah. I’m just really dreading the fact that they are coming.”

“I know babe, but it’s our first home and I know later in life you’re going to be proud of yourself for doing this. And I got a couple surprises for you, too.” he stood behind me while I was sitting in my vanity chair and placed his huge hands on my shoulders while slowly starting to massage them.

“You think so? I don’t know if I will.”

“If I know you like I think I know you, then I know you will. Plus, we are leaving for three months to another continent with their grandchild and even though they didn’t want us to keep her they love her now and wouldn’t do anything to hurt her. You and I both know that.”

“I know they wouldn’t do anything to hurt her.” I took a deep breath in and slowly let it out as the tension started to release from my neck.

“Then what’s the problem?” he looked at me confused in the mirror.

“I just feel like I can’t be myself with them around. Like I’m constantly looking for their judgement and I’m always finding it. And most times not very good judgement either.”

“You’re a freaking actress, babe. If you don’t want them to see the real you, which I don’t recommend, just choose a personality and stick with it until you’re ready to trust them enough to see the real you.” he leaned over and kissed my cheek softly, “And they’ll fall in love with you once they get to know the real you.”

“And if they don’t like me?” I smiled as he separated from one cheek and moved his head to the other side and softly kissed my other cheek.

“Who cares? Everyone else loves you.” he smiled while moving to the other side of my neck and kissed my jawline softly.

“You think so?”

“You think I would want to get married to a dull person?” he moved to my neck as he continued to softly kiss my skin with his plump lips.

He’s right. I am an awesome person, and my parents will learn eventually that I am who I am. Plus, why should I have to be scared to be myself in my own home that I bought myself? I shouldn’t have to, and if they don’t like it they can buy their own plane tickets back home and leave for all I care.

“You know, we still have five minutes until they get here.” I smirked at him in the mirror.

“Are you asking to do a quickie?” he started softly sucking on my shoulder that was showing from his white wife beater tank top I had stolen.

“Who said I was asking?” I twisted the chair around and met my lips with his before wrapping my hands around his bare neck.

He massaged his lips with mine as I spread my legs open and he slammed his body to mine without breaking the kiss.

He started rubbing between my legs with his free hand through my shorts I had put on while his other hand was intertwined with my hair.

“You’re so sexy.” he smiled while kissing me in between his words.

I started undoing his belt buckle while kissing him and bit the corner of my lip as I separated from him, “Go lock the door.”

He separated from my body and jogged over to the bedroom door and locked it while I started unbuttoning my high waisted black shorts.

As soon as I unbuttoned the last button Matty was in front of me with his lips pressed to mine aggressively and lifted me into the air as I wrapped my legs around his waist.

He sat me down on the bed and flipped me over onto my hands and knees before he ripped my purple lace thong off before smacking my butt cheek.

“Mommy?” we heard light knocks at the door but that didn’t stop him from shoving his shaft inside of me.

“Be out in a bit babe, we are getting dressed really quick.” it was taking all of my will power and strength to not moan out loud as he continued inserting himself deep into me.

“There’s strange people in black suits at the front door and they are asking for daddy.” she said softly through the locked door.

He stopped thrusting and I turned my head over my shoulder with the same confused look on his face that I had on mine.

“Who the hell could it be?” I pulled away from his grasp and grabbed my shorts from the ground to quickly put them on.

“Tell them we will be out in a second.” Matty shouted to Kelia while scurrying to pull his pants up and looking around for his shirt, “Did they say who they were?”

“Uh, yeah, a FBI agent.”

“Why the hell are they here?” I whisper shouted to Matty so Kelia couldn’t hear.

“Do you want me to invite them in, mommy?”

“I don’t know!” he shrugged his shoulders in confusion while whispering to me.

“I’m coming!” I finished buttoning up my shorts and grabbed my phone from the bed before jogging to the bedroom door and I exited the room.

I couldn’t think of any reason as to why the FBI would be at my house only five minutes before our family is about to show up. There isn’t any reason that they should be here, unless Javier is out. I cringe at just the thought of his name and always start to feel nauseous when he does come up in conversation.

“Right behind you.” I heard Matty stepping behind me.

I grabbed Kelia’s hand and walked with her down the large hallway towards the stairs with Matty beside me, “Why don’t you go play in your room and get out your special dolls that you want to show your grandparents?”

“Good idea! I can show them all of my Bratz dolls like Sasha and Chloe.” she ran away.

We walked down the stairs in sync with each other, I’m surprised we didn’t fall because of how fast we were stepping. We reached the door and looked at each other before opening it up to see two tall men standing in the doorway.

“Agent Delgado and agent Smith, what are you doing here?” Matty looked surprised to see them.

“Nice to see you again, Santiago.” one of the men smiled at Matty, I wasn’t sure which is which.

“Yeah, nice to see you guys. But I wasn’t expecting this.” he wrapped his arm around my shoulders, “This is my girlfriend, Kiera.”

“Nice to finally meet you, Kiera. My name is SSA agent Smith and this is my partner SSA agent Delgado. We’ve heard so much about you and Kelia.” the guy on the left put his hand out for a handshake.

“Hi, nice to meet you.” I smiled at them.

“We were hoping you were available to talk?”

He hesitated, “We have family coming over in a few minutes. Could you make it fast?”

“We’ll keep it brief with you, then. Could we come in?”

“Yes, of course. Please come in.” we stepped aside so they could enter and we shut the door behind them.

“We want you to join the team.” agent Smith said bluntly.

“I’m sorry, could you repeat that?” he shook his head in disbelief.

I was just as surprised as him. Are they actually offering him a job on the team? Does this mean he will be leaving and traveling a lot? Does this mean he would be leaving Kelia and I again? I wanted him to get a job so he wasn’t bored at home while Kelia was at school and while I was at work, but I didn’t want him to leave to join the FBI.

“Don’t worry, I know what you’re thinking. You have to travel around the country with us to help us find predators and killers. But with the job we are offering to you, you won’t need to leave the headquarters building. You’ll be able to work there while we travel.” agent Smith said in defense immediately.

“How did you guys find me?”

Agent Smith and agent Delgado both started chuckling, “We’re the FBI. It wasn’t that hard.”

“What is it exactly I’d do?”

“You’d be our personal brain, our personal computer. Your SAT’s were outstanding and with the knowledge you have with computers that kept you alive the entire time you were missing it would be a mistake to not have you on the team.”

“And we know how much your family means to you and how you can’t possibly want to leave them every time we get a case so this is perfect for you, not to mention the pay.”

Matty’s phone vibrated in his pocket as we stood in silence and he grabbed it out of his pocket to glance at the screen, “Our parents are around the corner. Could you give us some time to talk about it?”

“What’s there to think about, Matty? Take the job.” I wanted what’s best for him and his future. I want Kelia and our future children to see him as a hero and prodigy.

“What about Africa, babe?” he glanced at me.

“We know about that, too. And we can have you set up in a week so you can take your gear with you to Africa. After all, you did so much for us and this country. The most we can do is let you continue doing it.”

“He’ll take the job.” I wrapped my arm around his back and smiled at him, “We leave for Africa in two weeks. But you’ve got to go, our parents are almost here and I’m sure they won’t be very happy being shown a tour of our home with FBI agents around.”

“We get it, and you have a very nice home. Thank you for giving us your time.” they reached for the front door, “And Matty? We’ll be in touch.”

As soon as the door shut in front of them Matty turned to face me, “Why the hell did you do that?”

“Do what?” I looked at him confused, he had anger all over his face.

He went to go speak but he was interrupted by the doorbell. Instead of saying what he was going to say he grabbed the door knob and took a deep breath in before letting it out.

I don’t see what the big deal is.

It was a great opportunity for him. He could work from home if he wanted to.

“Kelia?” I shouted upstairs.

“Yes mom?” she shouted back to me.

“Come down here!” I screamed as Matty opened the door with a fake smile on his face.

Matty’s parents stood beside my parents in the door frame with their suitcases and smiles on their faces. All of which looked happy, even my parents did.

“Hey, guys,” Matty hugged his parents and shook my parents hands quickly. “Please, come in.”

“Hi, guys. How was your flight?” I smiled at them as they entered into the house, “Kelia?” I shouted upstairs again to see where she was at.

“I slept the entire way, so I wouldn’t know.” Thalia hugged me as soon as she got into the house, “How was the premier? Did they love it?”

“I believe so. I hope so.” I giggled. I looked over Thalia’s shoulder to see my mom and dad standing there patiently.

“Hey mom, dad.” I greeted them as I walked passed Thalia and came face to face with them.

“Grandma! Grandpa!” Kelia shouted in excitement as she stepped down the stairs and shoved me out of the way to give all four of them a hug at once.

“Hi, princess! Oh my gosh you’ve grown!” my dad picked her up and spun her around.

They can’t even make physical contact with their own daughter.

Whatever.

I stopped giving a fuck when they never showed up for their granddaughters birth.

“How was your flight?” I asked the group.

“It was smooth for the most part. How are you, Kiera? Mi amor, I haven’t seen you in forever.” Thalia places her hands on my cheeks while looking me up and down.

My boyfriends mom is more excited to see me than my own mom, and any other normal person would’ve been mind blown.

“I’m good, I’m so happy to see you guys! Where is the little guy at?”

“He’s coming.” Jonah chuckled, “He is showing your friends out there his toy cars.”

“Garrett and Ricky?”

“Yes, the very large scary men out there.” Thalia laughed.

I loved Matty’s parents. They actually had a sense of humor and they actually enjoy life without having to think about God twenty four seven. And I generally enjoyed the idea of them enjoying my presence as much as I enjoy their presence.

“Would you like to show us around?” Mom interrupted Thalia’s and my conversation.

“Uh, yeah.” I said awkwardly. “Just give us a second to go grab Duma from outside.”

I made up the first excuse that came to my mind. I grabbed Matty by his arm with a fake smile on my face and I dragged him to the backyard and shut the clear glass sliding door behind us. He tried ripping his arm from my grip but failed miserably, and he wasn’t even trying.

“Why’d you bring me out here?” he said emotionless. I guess we are back to the arguing and constantly being rude to one another just when I thought we were moving forward and in the right direction.

“What’s your problem?” I snipped at him.

“There is no problem, you seem to know what’s best for me so there is no problem.”

“Are you really mad that I told them you’d take the job?” I huffed in annoyance.

“I don’t know, you tell me. Do I look mad?” he leaned against the house wall and his jaw was pulsing from the anger.

“You saved our daughters God Father’s life and you saved many lives after that. You’re already an inspiration to our daughter for doing that, I only thought it would make you happy to do it again and be able to be home while doing it.”

“You sure it’s not about money?” he snarked at me.

“You’re unbelievable. One giant step forward and two steps back.” I opened the sliding door and walked away from him before the annoyance surfaced too much and our parents could tell that something was wrong. Plus, I didn’t feel like watching my parents gloat that Matty and I are arguing.

Over something so stupid too.

I walked into the sun room entrance where everyone was standing and I threw on the best convincing smile I could, “You guys ready? You can leave your bags here, I’ll have Ricky and Garrett take them upstairs to your rooms.”

“Mommy, can Sebastian sleep with me tonight?” Kelia ran over to me while holding Sebastian’s hand and dragging him with her.

“Make sure it’s okay with grandma and papa, first.” we started walking into the living room.

We walked into the living room where Matty was sitting on the couch with Duma and I rolled my eyes at the sight of him. Maybe it’s my hormones or because my period is coming but I can’t stand being in his presence right now. “This is our living room and here is our kitchen.”

“Very nice.” Dad stated while looking around the room with everyone else.

“If you follow me into this hallway we have our dining room, media room, our study room, and Duma’s room.”

“What’s a media room, Matty?” Sebastian asked him as he climbed onto his lap on the couch.

“You’ve been to the movie theatre right?” he picked him up and lifted himself off the couch while holding Sebastian in his arms. This is the first time Matty and Sebastian have met in person but it’s like they’ve known each other their whole lives. The FaceTime calls must’ve helped them grow fond of each other because they’re honestly very comfortable with each other and talking to one another.

“Uh huh.” he nodded his head as we started walking down the large but narrow hallway.

“Check this out, buddy.” Matty opened the media room door and Sebastian’s eyes grew wide as he took in the at home movie theatre. I’m sure he was expecting something where you play music or games, not an at home movie theatre. In fact, I don’t think anyone was expecting an in house movie theatre with an entire concession stand and an actual popcorn machine.

“You really live here?” Mom tapped me on the shoulder with her free hand while holding one of Kelia’s with her other hand.

“Yeah, I paid for it in full.” this is our home for a while now.

“Andrew, honey, we’ve only seen three rooms of this entire place and I’m already having a heart attack.” she whispered loud enough for everyone to hear while looking astonished by the room.

I’m sorry, did that sound like a compliment on the house and we haven’t even really started? Did my mother actually just compliment the house? My house?

I glanced at Matty who had the same smile on my face, a secret smile that only the two of us knew about. My parents just actually complimented me on something I did.

“Wait until you see the rooms we have you staying in.” I giggled with pride.

“I have to hand it to you, Ki. You did a really good thing buying this house.” Dad complimented me while he grabbed moms hand.

That’s weird, though. I’ve never seen dad and mom as much as look at each other when not at their home in private. They always thought it was wrong to touch each other in public, like it was a sin to give each other any affection and have people see how much you love each other. Pathetic if you ask me.

“Whenever you guys are ready we can head out to the hallway.” I glanced to Matty again, “Babe you think you could help me turn on the pool pump?”

“Yeah, uh, sure.” he set Sebastian on the ground from showing him all of the movies we have and kneeled down to the ground, “Why don’t you and Kelia pick a movie tonight and we can all watch the movie together?”

“Kelia get over here now!” Sebastian ordered. I loved how close they were, they even FaceTime each other when they are pooping and I know that’s weird but I made it known that they only show their faces and nothing else. Even though I know Kelia and him would never do anything like that.

Matty wrapped his arm around my shoulder and followed me outside to the backyard to turn on the pool pump because I knew they were going to want to go swimming once they saw the pool. It was just a convenient way to talk to Matty alone.

As soon as we shut the glass sliding door we both turned to each other with the same amount of excitement on our faces and we grabbed ahold of each others arms because of how excited we were. He knew exactly what was up, he knew this was a big step for not only me but also him. Maybe they will hate him a little less for getting me pregnant at fifteen. And maybe they will hate me a little less for getting pregnant at fifteen.

“They like the house!” we screamed in sync with each other.

“Oh my god!” we screamed in sync with each other, again.

“We haven’t even been through half of the house and they already like it!”

“We only showed them three freaking rooms and your mom is already about to have a heart attack!” he said in excitement.

“Oh my god!” I started to hyperventilate from all the excitement running through my body. “Holy crap!”

“Dude, forget the argument. Come here!” he placed his hands on my cheeks and pulled me gently into his body and pressed his lips to mine, “Thank you for accepting the job for me.” he kissed me again.

“Oh thank god, because I was going to have a fit if you didn’t jump on this amazing opportunity.” I kissed him again while laughing.

“I’m sorry, I’m so, so, so, sorry.” he pleaded in between each playful kiss, “I just can’t believe they like the freaking house!”

“Okay, okay!” I laughed as he playfully wrapped his arms around my waist and picked me up while twirling me around in the air. “We should head back in there before they come see what is taking us so long.”

“Let’s turn the pool pump on, though. I know once they see this pool at least one of them are going to want to go swimming.” Matty set me down and jogged over to the power box hidden in the wall of the garage.

“No way, that’s exactly what I was thinking.” I giggled while waiting for him.

“Maybe we should have them stay an extra night, yeah?” Matty suggested as he walked back to me.

“An extra night? God, I was dreading two night.” I played a stressful role in this one. Another night after the two? Tonight hasn’t even ended yet.

“Well think about it, I know Sebastian is going to want to go swimming with Kelia and we can invite over her friends for a small pool party if she wants and they are going to want to watch the movie I promised them after that. And we’ve still got to eat. I say we push the party back another day or two and we keep them here so we can show them around the city and actually spend some time with them more than just a few hours.”

“I don’t know, Matty.” I hesitated as we started walking back inside of the house.

“Come on, babe. Please? This could be our chance to get in their good graces.” he begged me with his begging voice and his begging eyes and his begging smile.

I stared at him as I contemplated in my head with the worse case scenarios and they all end horribly wrong. But I could see on his face that this is something he really wanted to do to get on my parents good side. I could see on his face that he wanted to do this for our family and not in spite of me. “Fine. I’ll propose it and if they object then there is nothing wrong with that. Maybe work or something will be in the way.”

He laughed before grabbing my hand and tugging me in for a light peck on the lips, “Thank you. You aren’t going to regret this.”

“I’ll have Zendaya and the girls spread the word that the party is going to be next weekend.” I separated from his body and we started walking down the hallway to the media room where we left everyone.

“Okay, babe.” he said happily.

We walked in the room the see our parents and Kelia with Sebastian all kneeled down on the ground looking at the rack of movies we have. It sounded like a debate room, everyone talking over one another deciding on which movie would be the best choice.

“Hey, guys.” we interrupted them.

“We’ve brought it down to these three movies but we can’t choose.” Sebastian brought over the three disks and handed them to Matty.

“Ah, Moana Two, Pirates of the Caribbean, or Lego Harry Potter?” he glanced at me, “What do you think?”

“Lego Harry Potter sounds like the obvious choice for me.”

“That’s exactly what we said.” Mom pointed at dad and herself.

“Matty, I’m kind of hungry.” Sebastian pulled on Matty’s shorts.

“We could show you guys to your rooms, eat, and then show the rest of the house if you’d like?” I glanced at our parents who were standing in a huddled circle.

“I don’t see a problem with that.” Thalia glanced back at everyone to see of any objections.

“Okay, follow me.” I exited the media room into the hallway and I made my way up the stairs to our open loft area and down the hallway opposite of where mine and Matty’s room is.

We showed Thalia and Jonah their room first, we chose to put them next to Kelia’s room because I’m sure Sebastian is going to want to sleep with her until they leave. And we decided to put my parents beside Matty’s parents so we could make sure they got their peace and quiet at night instead of listening to the kids talking and playing.

I heard the doorbell ring downstairs, “I’m going to go get that. Meet us downstairs whenever you guys are ready.” I made my way down the openly large hallway and started down the stairs.

“Wait, babe. I’ll get it.” Matty jogged behind me and followed me down the stairs.

“No, it’s okay. I’m already going.” I continued walking down the stairs.

I got to the door with Matty right behind me and I swung it open.

I was expecting maybe Garrett and Ricky, or maybe Matty had already invited Kelia’s friends over for the pool party.

What I wasn’t expecting?

Sammy and his daughter, Maria and Cody.
