Chapter Twenty Two

“Happy birthday, my love.” I watched the clock strike midnight on my phone and I kissed Matty lightly while he laid his head on my lap.

I went to pull away from him to sit up straight to go back to rubbing my hands through his silky brown hair. Instead he playfully placed his hands on the back of my head and forced a long and playful kiss.

“I missed that.” he playfully pecked his lips on mine before finally letting me sit up straight, “I love you, I love you so much.”

We had so much fun today, and I couldn’t be more happier. Not only did we get secretly hitched, but we got to go to the zoo, go to the beach, and we even explored the city and went to the music festival they hold each night.

It was truly an experience to remember, not only were we full of smiles and laughter but we were learning and seeing another cultures everyday life and I think that it’s a beautiful thing that we all have different cultures. And most importantly, I get to spend it here with Matty.

I’ve always seen the world in black and white, never in color. I’ve never identified one by skin color or how they talk, we are all human at the end of the day and we are all being put here on the same earth.

“I love you, too.” I giggled at his happiness and excitement, “I still can’t believe I’m your wife.”

“I can’t believe I’m your husband. Have you told anyone?” he smiled at me while I started playing with his hair again.

“I think we should tell Kelia, but I don’t know.” I shrugged, “What if she is mad that she wasn’t there?”

“Eh, I doubt it. As long as she gets to be a flower girl she will be more than happy for us.” he turned to his side to face me.

“You think so?” I raised an eyebrow at him.

“I know, so.” he smirked at me before he started kissing my bare flat stomach.

I bit my bottom lip as he started to use his tongue to play around while he kissed my skin and I accidentally let out a light moan.

“I,” he kissed the left side of my stomach, “Love,” he kissed the right side of my stomach just as softly as before, “You.” he kissed below my belly button and looked up at me with a sexual smirk on his face.

“I love you, too.” it started to tickle.

“Make love to me.” he jumped up and got close to my face with lust full in his eyes, “Right now.”

“Right now? There are people who are up.”

“Right now.” he pulled his shirt off from his body and started unbuckling his belt that was holding his khaki shorts up in place and he started kissing me.

His eyes and voice were filled with lust and it set the mood even higher than what it already was. He placed himself between my legs and started kissing my cheeks and all around my neck. His finger tips were hot to the touch of my skin, maybe it’s true what they say — the first time having sex once you’re married is a different kind of feeling.

I wanted him, I wanted more of him right now and I had no desire to hide it. As our breathing grew heavier with each other, he helped me take off my crop top that I had thrown on while we were in the city because of how hot it was outside.

It would be atrocious if the media found out about Matty and I getting married before Kelia did. I have a strange feeling she is going to be mad that she wasn’t there to see it. I told her a lot of princess stories as she grew up and I think she had that idea in her head when she saw Matty propose to me.

He started caressing my thigh softly while he continued to kiss me and the heat grew spicier and sparks continued to ignite inside of me spreading to every inch of my body.

“Are you ready, Mrs Santiago?” he smirked at me as he teased to kiss my lips but instead he pulled away when I went to connect our lips together.

“Are you ready, Mr Santiago?” I ran my hands through his silky hair and dragged him in to connect the kiss with me.

He picked me up from the bed and put himself where I was and placed me on top of him with his back against the headboard. He caressed the hourglass shape of my body and I grew more and more weak while waiting for him to start. I’m getting antsy and I want him now.

Not in five minutes, now.

“Someone’s in a hurry?” he chuckled while slowly kissing me seductivly.

“As much as I love messing around, sometimes I just want to get straight to it.” I got close to his ear and whispered, “Like right now.”

I felt his bulge through his shorts jump up and start rubbing against my hot spot. I started nibbling on his ear, “So, do you want to continue playing with me or do you want to have sex with your wife?”

He picked me up into the air and pulled his shorts off quickly enough that I was only into the air for two or three seconds and he started rubbing his shaft while I positioned myself for me to insert himself inside of me.

It’s hitting me now that I am now not only a mother and a celebrity, but I’m married now. And that’s all that is racing through my head. I never thought I would even think about marrying anyone after Matty had went missing. I never wanted to get a therapist, I never thought it was best only because somehow, someway, my business would end up out there if the price was right and sometimes people are desperate.

So I stuck with my best friends — Maria, Hailey, Roxy, and Zen. And I couldn’t be happier with that decision. I knew from the jump that they would never betray me and that’s why I’ve declared them best friends and family. I want my daughter and my future kids growing up around that kind of family where no matter what happens everything will be kept between us and we will always be there for each other no matter what predicament we are in.

Before I slid down on him I leaned in to his ear, “This is the second best decision we could’ve ever made.”

Having sex in camp was the first best decision.

“Special delivery for Matteo Santiago?” someone said from outside the tent. It must be the gift Kelia had sent over for us with my parents.

“Be out in a second!” Matty rubbed his eyes while my head continued to lay on his large bicep with my eyes closed.

We had stayed up all night watching movies and making love. We didn’t go to bed until at least four in the morning, and it was a big mistake on our end.

“I’ll get it, honey.” I kissed his shoulder lightly before lifting myself up from the bed and walked over to the curtain door.

Outside of our tent was a younger female who had a red and white checker bandana wrapped around her forehead who held two brown boxes bigger than her in her arms, “Jeez. Here, let me help you.”

“Thank you,” she smiled at me as I took ahold of the boxes. “I here it’s your fiancé’s birthday celebration today?”

“Yeah, the big twenty four today.”

“I remember when my mom was that young.” she started laughing with me, “I’ll let you get back to sleep. It was so nice talking to you.”

“And to you, too. Have a wonderful day.” these people are so nice, it’s so surreal.

I carried the box into the tent to see Matty passed out asleep on our bed. I set the boxes on the table lightly, I tiptoed over to the bed and grabbed my phone from the night stand to check for any missed calls. I know Kelia and them are all sleeping at the moment being it’s almost eleven thirty in the morning here.

I walked into the small kitchen area and opened the fridge to see what we have that I can surprise Matty with. He’s always cooking me breakfast, lunch, and dinner and always making sure I’m taking care of myself.

It’s his day, and I plan to make it one of the best days he’s ever had. Although, I’m not very good at this stuff I figured I’d start with breakfast in bed. More like lunch, but the gist is there. Anything he wants, I’m going to give him no matter how absurd I think it’ll be. I want to make this one of the best days of his life.

I sifted through the cupboards and attempted to locate the spam and tortilla’s before I moved onto the fridge to grab the eggs, bacon, onions, maple syrup, shredded American cheese, and the wet cheddar cheese I had bought from in town yesterday so I could make him his favorite brunch meal.

He loves his cheese.

I set everything on the counter next to the small personal sized oven and I started melting butter in the frying pan on the lowest heat setting. I cut the spam into small equal squares and I poured the small handfuls into the frying pan and turned the heat up to allow it to start sizzling. I then began chopping the onions next and put them into a small bowl with four cracked eggs that weren’t mixed yet.

I remember the first day I had made this meal for him. We woke up one day during my pregnancy and I was craving a breakfast burrito. I started experimenting with the things that they had in the house that morning and I just started throwing everything in the pan that seemed appealing to my pregnancy taste buds. After I had tasted probably the best thing I’d ever made before, I had to share it with Matty. I mean, I knew he’d like it because I loved it.

I grabbed a spatula from the utensil jar beside the oven and I started moving the spam around the pan as it continued to cook before I walked back over to the bowl of chopped onions and unstirred eggs. I grabbed a fork from the wet dish holder by the sink to stir them enough to only see the yolk and I added in a dash of salt and pepper with a pinch of onion powder.

I removed the spam from the stove and I poured it into a small mixing bowl that I’m going to combine everything into together at the very end. I put the bacon on the front pan next and flipped it every two minutes to ensure that it was crispy and not too greasy.

I still like to try and keep it healthy sometimes. After I finished cooking the bacon I had set it in a separate bowl from the spam bowl and I start crushing it up after I poured the scrambled eggs and onions into the pan.

One of the main reasons I rarely ever make this breakfast is because of how many dishes it uses. I was always taught to wash as you dirty a dish, and it’s worked for me thus far but it’s so much work.

I poured the crumbled bacon on top of the spam and I poured a light amount of warm maple syrup on top before I started mixing it in with the meats with a spoon.

I was pregnant, and I wanted a little bit of everything in it. Burritos were my go to when I was pregnant with Kelia.

I started scrambling the eggs and onions then slowly added a small amount of milk the ensure that they were fluffy. Like I had said before, today is his day and it’s going to be perfect. He’s made my life so much easier than what it should’ve been, and I can honestly say that if it wasn’t for him I don’t think I’d be who or where I am now.

If I would’ve never had sex with Matty that night, we might not have got to know each other more than we already did, let alone date. And if we did, I’m sure we would’ve broken up when he left for college or the military if he had still chosen to go down that street path. You never really think about all of the what if’s — like what if he never caught that football? Or what if I never lured him into the bedroom? Would I be who I was before I met him? Would I have become pregnant, anyways?

You never think of all of the what if’s, it’s probably impossible to think about every what if scenario and that’s why I think rationally about my decisions, especially as a celebrity now.

I finished scrambling the eggy onion mix and I poured them on top of the bacon and spam. I added in half of a cup of sprinkle American cheese so it could melt in with the freshly cooked scrambled eggs and meats. I grabbed four tortilla’s from the plastic bag and I opened the jar of wet cheese before I spread an even amount in the middle of the tortilla’s. I finished the burrito off with two spoonfuls of the scrambled egg mix and I wrapped the four burrito’s perfectly so they wouldn’t fall apart.

I placed two burrito’s side by side on a glass plate and the third and fourth burrito on their own plates. I took the liberty to make Garrett a burrito because he was going to be replacing Matty and I while we are out today. I see it wouldn’t be very fair to have him do that for us so we can spend time with each other on Matty’s birthday and not feed him or give him something delightful to eat.

I grabbed one of the plates that held one burrito and I walked out of the tent to go look for Garrett. I knew he was around somewhere, he wouldn’t go far enough where he wouldn’t be able to find us if he was in a hurry. I covered my eyes from the bright sun and I looked out and spotted him talking to a beautiful African female with a his flirting grin all over his face.

I walked over to him and greeted them with a smile until they were done talking and they paused to look at me, “What’s up, Kiera?”

I know that look he gave me. That’s his I’m trying to make a move on this girl, why the hell are you interrupting me right now look.

“Sorry to interrupt, I just thought you’d like a burrito before you go back to work.” I grinned at him while I was trying to hold my laugh back.

“Oh, that’s sweet. What’s in it?”

“It’s the special one that Matty loves. But it has bacon and Spam instead of sausage and ham, it still tastes delicious.” I didn’t actually know because I hadn’t tried it yet.

“Thanks, I’m actually starving. I appreciate it.”

“Well, sorry for interrupting you guys. I hope you both have a wonerful day.” I turned to Garrett, “Why don’t you take Duma with you to the site?”

“Okay, sounds good.” he was keeping it short to ensure I got the message with the grin on his face.

I turned around to walk back to the tent and I stopped before I got too far, “And make sure nobody bothers us today!”

“Gotcha!” he waved me on in annoyance.

I walked back into the tent and saw Matty still sleeping so I walked over to the counter to grab our plates and I carried them over to the bed, “Babe, you up?”

“Huh?” he moaned in his sleepy voice.

“I made you a little something for breakfast.” I sat down beside him and I set my plate on the sheet before I started rubbing the side of his head.

“Save it for later.” he rolled over wrapping his arms tightly around my waist and rested his head on my stomach with his eyes closed.

“I guess I’ll give Duma your burritos.” I teased.

His eyes shot open, “Your burritos?”

“Duh.” I giggled as he sat up straight and stared at the plate in my hands as I offered it to him.

“Never offer Duma my special burritos.” he took the plate from my hands as he quickly pecked me on the lips before shoving the burrito in his mouth.

“Well? How are they?”

His eyes rolled to the back of his head and he set his burrito on his place before placing it on the bed and he held his hands to his chest in praying position, “Fucking marvelous.”

I couldn’t help but laugh at his amusement over some burritos, “I’ll take it.”

“This is so delicious, thank you, baby.” he pressed his greasy lips to mine.

I set my burrito down on my plate, “So, what do you want to do today? I cleared the whole day for us to do whatever you want.”

“I want to party with you.” he finished one of his burritos.

He is a growing man, after all. So I knew to make him two burritos.

“Party with me? Elaborate, please.” I giggled.

He stood up from the bed with the remaining half of his burrito in his hand and he set the plate in the sink before rummaging through the freezer. He pulled two bottles of liquor out of the freezer with both of his hands and he walked over to the bed, “I want to get drunk with my wife and party with her all day.”

“What do you have?” I raised an eyebrow at him.

I never pass up the opportunity to drink.

“We have Hennessy and bourbon.” he started opening the bourbon and he took a small sip straight from the bottle and he held the bottle towards me as his face scrunched up.

“Don’t mind,” I took the bottle from him and took a sip, “If I do.”

If I had to choose one liquor that was my favorite to drink it’d be between Bourbon Whiskey and Crown Royal. The goal is to get drunk and have fun, and they do just that.

“That’s my girl.” he laughed while he opened the Hennessy and started sipping from the bottle.

“So, what? We are just going to drink all day? You don’t want to do anything inspirational or fun?” I took another sip of the alcohol and I started to feel the alcohol starting to run through my insides and warm up.

“As long as I’m drunk and I’m with you, I’m fine babe. We can blast music and watch movies all day, for all I give a damn.” he took another sip of the dark liquor, “As long as I’m with you.”

I took as big a sip as I could of the bourbon before I kissed Matty on the lips, “Let’s get started.”

He winked at me and clacked the Hennessy bottle against the bourbon bottle, “Who was the package for earlier?”

“Birthday gifts from everyone back home, you want to open them now or later? I stood up from the bed and tossed the last two bites of my burrito into Duma’s food bowl for her to have when she comes back home.

He walked over to the table and set the glass bottle down before he ripped the tape off of one of the boxes and he grabbed the first present that was wrapped in glittery blue wrapping paper.

“Who’s that one from?” I sat down in the chair across the table from him.

“Sammy.” he ripped the paper off and it revealed the new Apple Bluetooth Pill and he grew a smile on his face.

“Is that the new speaker Apple just come out with?” I glanced at the box, “That’s so cool.”

He set the speaker down on the table and grabbed two smaller boxes that were stacked on top of each other with red ribbon wrapped around both of them with a small tag connected at a loop.

“This ones for the both of us from Kelia.” he took the ribbon off and he handed me in of the boxes. “Weird, I thought it was my birthday.” he winked at me and smiled.

“Ha ha, very funny. What’s the paper say?”

“Dear mom and dad, I got these for you guys. The top one is moms and the bottom one is dads. Love always, Princess Kelia.”

“My heart.” I dramatically grabbed ahold of my chest as my heart panged at the thought of not being with her for so long.

We opened the boxes in sync with each other and it revealed a gold heart shaped necklace and chain with a piece of folded paper inside the box.

“Open me.” Matty looked a little confused at what it meant.

I started fidgeting with the heart, maybe it could be a locket?

I clicked a small hidden button on the back of the heart and it had clicked open causing two whole hearts to form side by side as I opened completely. Inside on the left heart was a picture of Matty and on the right side was a picture of Kelia in her crown I had got her for her sixth birthday.

My chest grew hot and I felt the tears starting a show but I held it back the best I could, “Oh, my.”

I was surprised at the gift. I would’ve thought it was something homemade or made in school, not a necklace with the two most important people in my life pictured inside.

“What does yours have in it?” I asked and he didn’t break eye contact with his opened pocket watch and the joy didn’t leave his face.

“A picture of you and Kelia. What about yours?” he answered.

“A picture of you and a picture of Kelia.” my heart fluttered more.

“I’m really raising the perfect daughter.” I unclipped the link and I wrapped it around my neck.

“My two favorite people will be with me wherever I go.” he smirked at me.

“I’ll be with you no matter where you are, anyways.” I leaned over the small cluttered table and kissed him.

“I know.” he kissed me back, “I love you.”

I know my parents played a part in this because Kelia has no access to this kind of money until she’s twenty one years old. But I am so happy they did, because this is the best gift I have ever received and it’s made me feel all squishy and lovey inside.

I love it.

“Open the next one!” I was so happy right now, I felt like I could chug the whole bottle of bourbon myself.

But I know I should play it safe, so I think I should stick with small sips.

He set the chain in his shorts pocket and he grabbed a gift basket wrapped in plastic from the box and read the card before setting it down, “From your mom and dad.”

“My parents sent you this? Well, what’s in there?” I was confused. My parents didn’t send gift baskets, that takes time. Usually they just send money over and let the person do the buying.

“Sausage sticks, cheese, candies, barbecue utensils.” he opened a pack of crackers and ate one.

“I’m assuming this second box is our friends?” he glanced at me.

“I don’t know, they haven’t said anything to me.” I shrugged.

Matty had finished opening presents and I had decided to make him wait to open the gifts I got him til later tonight. I opened my phone and connected to our tall speaker we had brought over with us and I opened Pandora to click the first playlist my finger landed on and played that one.

I felt like dancing with my husband.

“What are we doing?” he watched as I started to dance loosely around the table to the beat of the music.

“We’re partying.” I held my hand out for him to join me.

He glanced at me for a moment, “I don’t dance.”

“Come on, babe.” I grabbed ahold of his hand and started dancing without letting go. He saw he had no choice but to dance with me and he started bobbing his head to the early two thousands throwbacks and before we knew it we were both bouncing around in a circle with each other.

I get to spend the rest of my life with the man who I want to have private dance parties with for forever. I’m only twenty two years old and I have found my soulmate.

Of all people, I never thought I’d be gifted with this life. Maybe Bianca, and her little spawns that follow her around all the time but nobody has heard from her in at least two years. I’m not complaining though, as long as she leaves me alone I’m fine with whatever it is she is doing.

“What do you want for dinner?” I asked Matty as I shuffled my head into his chest while we laid on the small couch together in each other’s arms.

“I’m sick of eating.” he had his eyes covered with his arm resting, “Can’t we just lay here and cuddle? The world is spinning right now.”

“Aren’t you always saying that it’s important to eat? That one should always stay on top of their meals?” I teased him.

“Yo, Garrett.” I looked up to see Matty holding his phone between his bicep and his cheek with the crease of his arm resting overtop of his eyes.

“What’s up, bro? You busy?”

“I’m sending you a list, come through.”

“A’ight.” I saw the phone glow which could only mean the call ended.

“What was that about?”

“We need a few things.”

“Can I know?” I raised an eyebrow at him.

“You’ll see.” he chuckled and playfully wrapped his arms dramatically around my neck while rubbing his knuckle lightly against my hair causing it to static and he started tickling me.

“Mercy! Mercy!” I screamed as he continued tickling me.

He started laughing with me and I was left no choice but to start rubbing my feet against the bottom of his feet. He swears he isn’t ticklish but if you get anywhere near his feet he freaks out and I’ve caught him a couple times slipping while holding his laugh in.

“What are you doing?” he started twitching his feet around while laughing.

“Well, I’m trying to tickle your feet but I’m so drunk I see six or seven feet down there.” I covered my mouth because I couldn’t help but laugh hysterically.

It’s true, I’m really drunk right now and I’m having the time of my life.

After we both found the will to stop laughing with each other, our faces were beat red and veins were sticking out of our foreheads. He tucked a loose strand of hair behind my ear and rubbed his finger gently across my cheek while looking into my soul, “You’re so beautiful.”

I felt the blood rush to my cheeks and the heat started radiating off of them, “I love you.”

“I love you, too.” he lightly kissed me.

“I’ve got to go to the bathroom.”

I have to break the seal, I can’t hold it in any longer.

I lifted myself up from the couch slowly and that’s when I realized just how drunk I was. Everything started spinning around me but I was so happy I didn’t care how many fridges or beds I saw in the room.

“Garrett is on his way to the store. You need anything, babe?”

“Nah, I think I’m good.” I shouted to him as I pulled my pants down.

We had laid down on the couch in each other’s arms and put on the movie TAU on Netflix. While we started the movie I twiddled with my wedding band that was made into a necklace to avoid the paparazzi from seeing it and assuming anything.

No matter how bad I want to brag to the world that I married my high school sweetheart.

“Knock knock.” a familiar female voice sounded faintly on the other side of the curtain entrance.

“Be out in a second!” I shouted as I stumbled to my feet.

We stood up from the couch with each other’s support to get up and we walked over to the exit to help bring in the groceries that Matty had Garrett run to town for.

As we exited the curtain and entered outside we were greeted by Justin and Hailey. At first I thought I was just super drunk and that I was starting to hallucinate things, so I had to rub my eyes a couple of different times to make sure they were really there. They had several suitcases behind them that they had personally customized with Bieber all over it in graffiti.

“Happy birthday, bro.” Justin dapped Matty up and brought him in for a man hug.

“Are you going to say something or are you just going to stand there and stare at us?” Hailey smirked at me while she held her arms out for a hug.

I wrapped my arms around her shoulders, “I can’t believe you guys are here! I’m just so surprised.”

“Yeah, and you wreak. Started the party without us?” she teased as she let go of me.

“We’re partying.”

“Oh, where? Is it too crowded? Is it for his birthday party?” Justin jumped at the idea of partying.

“Here?” he looked at the open curtain behind us and glanced inside, “There’s nobody in there.”

“Just us.” I said awkwardly.

I still can’t believe they are here. I wonder why they were here without the children.

“Where are the kids? I thought you had a deadline on your album?” I wrapped my arm around Matty’s back and I rested my head into his shoulder.

“Scoot thought that taking a break and coming here to help you rebuild this community would be great for both of us, he pulled some major strings and made a very convincing argument to let us come here but I have to try and keep up on my writing.”

“Who knows? Maybe you’ll find a bit of inspiration while you’re here. How long are you guys staying?”

“As long as we want, I don’t have any upcoming events that I need to attend so we can help.”

“Please, come inside.” I turned around and stepped into our tent, “It’ll take a few days to get everything cleared in here and set up in this tent but this one can be yours. Matty and I have another tent more inwards. Where are the children?”

“Patty volunteered to keep them. They refused under any circumstances to leave their friends for three months.” they followed Matty and I indoors.

“Yeah? That was nice of her.” I plopped myself onto the couch with Hailey and the boys walked into the kitchen.

I would be lying if I said I didn’t want to scream to Justin and her that we had got married in a courthouse like they did themselves.

“How are things going?” she muttered to me low enough so only I could hear.

“Better. I think he was only exhausted from the case he was working on, as soon as they closed it he was happy and super affectionate.”

“That’s what I like to hear.” she raised an eyebrow at me.

“I have to show you something, don’t make a big deal about it though.” I whispered into her ear as the boys continued talking.

“I knew you were pregnant, I had a dream.”

“Okay, Martin Luther King.” I teased, “No, better.” I pulled the long gold chain from inside my shirt and displayed the rose gold wedding band that Matty had picked out for us.

She screeched and she covered her mouth from all of the excitement pouring out of her, “You didn’t!”

The boys looked at us with confused looks on their faces, “Sorry. Gossiping about Garrett.”

I think Matty knew I was lying, but he didn’t question me and he went back to the conversation with Justin. He knew I would tell Hailey. Her and Maria were my best friends and of course I’d want to tell them that I eloped.

“When?” she whispered with her mouth still covered.

“Yesterday.” I answered her as I stuffed the ring back into my shirt, “We were inspired.”

“By what?” she teased.

“You and Justin.” I giggled with her.

“Awe, that’s so cute. Congratulations, babe.” she brought me in for a hug. “So, no baby?”

“No baby, not yet anyways.”

“When are you going to tell everyone?”

“We hope it remains a secret until we go back home, we want to be the first ones to tell Kelia. I can’t help but feel like she is going to be mad at me.” I shrugged.

“Yeah, I doubt it though. She’s been dreaming of that moment since she could speak.”

“Yeah, that’s what I’m worried about. She wanted to be there for when we say I do.”

“I don’t think you have anything to worry about.” her phone dinged for a text message and she glanced at the screen, “Babe, they are taking off now.”

“They?” I looked at everyone with confusion.

“Oh, right. We had a few more donations for this campaign and we need to know where they are good for landing.” Hailey answered my question.

“Just at the Cape Town airport, we have trucks to carry everything back.” I glanced at Matty in excitement, “What kind of donations?”

“Clothes, used cell phones, canned goods, more clothes, and some drinking supplies.”

“Oh my gosh! Thank you, thank you, thank you!” I hugged her in appreciation.

“We couldn’t be more happy to help you out, so we asked for a little help from our fans.” Justin butted in.

“Thank you, Justin.” and I was so thankful for what they had done. Not only do I not have to do the majority of this alone anymore but I also get to have friends that I actually like and can help me out with a lot.

“I’m stepping in! Please be appropriate for the love of god.” I heard Garrett’s voice at the open curtain.

“Aye!” we all shouted in sync with each other.

“Justin. Hailey. I didn’t expect to see you two here, how are you two doing?” he greeted them as soon as he noticed they were here.

“Very well, thank you Garrett. What are you doing, today? Do you want to party with us?”

“Well nimrod here,” he glanced at Matty, “Had me run all the way into town to get a bunch of alcohol and snacks. My boss had summoned me to make sure nothing gets messed up out in the field. And drinking isn’t really my thing, but thank you for offering.”

“You can join us if you want, Garrett.” I smiled at him to show I wouldn’t be mad. He can have a little fun sometimes, too. Instead of always being my body guard, which is basically what I hired him to be.

“No, no. I bought enough for a tribe but I want to get back, I’ll see you you guys later. If you need anything, call me.” he set the box of beer that held three paper bags on top of it the floor and ran out of the tent in a hurry.

“Like I said, he met a girl earlier.”

“Garrett, my man.” Matty talked Garrett up.

“What’d you have him buy?”

“Tequila, more Hennessy, Hypnotic, and beer. Think that’s enough for us?”

“Hell yeah.” Justin laughed as they walked over to the bags and picked everything up from the ground.

“You guys want to go to the beach? We can have a fire and roast marshmallows?” Matty suggested as he pulled a bag of marshmallows and chocolate bars from the bag.

“Sounds good to me, Hailey packed like eight different swim suits so I know it sounds good to her.”

“Go ahead and tease all you want, at least I’ll be looking fresh for the cameras that follow you around.” she teased Justin and stuck her tongue out at him playfully.

“And I cant wait to see you in them either.” he playfully winked at her as he took a sip of the Hennessy.

“Why don’t you two go get the fire started and we will get changed?” I suggested.

“We can do that.” they grabbed all three of the bags and the beer and they marched out of the tent together.

“So tell me, was it everything you wanted? Are you happy with your decision?”

“More than ever. Everything feels different now that I get to call myself Kiera Santiago. I always wrote it down when I was a kid in high school but now I really am Kiera Santiago. The world just doesn’t know it yet.”

“Your fans are going to be pissed once they find out you eloped and didn’t have a wedding.” she rubbed in my face.

“We’re still having a ceremony for our friends and family to come together, and we still want a really big ceremony. Just not right now, we’re busy with everything that’s going on right now. Between him starting out this new job and me continuously working with one thing after another we never really have time for each other during the day to take the time to make wedding plans. And to be honest, I have no idea what I’m doing.”

“I get it, it’s cool. That’s why, I’m going to bless you with my wedding planning skills.”

“You like planning weddings?”

“I loved planning mine and Justin’s wedding, I thought it was so much fun. And I’m going to make sure yours is fun in the process, just try not to get pregnant before the ceremony. I already have a few ideas.”

“We can speak about them when we get to the boys, let’s get dressed and head over.”

Hailey and I took a few pre-game shots of the last bit of the bourbon we had left over and we walked down to the beach and I had called Kelia quickly before I got super drunk with my friends and husband for his twenty fourth birthday.

“So what’d you get Matty?” Hailey took a sip of her beer.

“I haven’t given them to him yet but I got him a new gold chain and a signed basketball sports jacket by Lebron James.”

“Isn’t he retired?” she took another sip of her beer.

“Yeah, it took some serious bribing to get him to meet with me.” we continued walking down the path to get to the beach where Matty and Justin were standing next to each other with the fire making their faces glow. It wasn’t completely dark yet, and Matty still has five more hours of it being his day.

“That’s really sweet and thoughtful, he’s going to love it.” she smiled at me.

“Nice of you two to join us.” Justin teased.

“We can go back?” Hailey pointed behind her as she met with Justin to give him a quick kiss.

“Hey, babe.” Matty wrapped his arm around my bare shoulders and kissed the side of my head.

“I told Hailey.” I said quietly in excitement, “I’m sorry. I couldn’t help myself.”

“It’s okay, Kiera.” he chuckled, “I told Justin.”

“I couldn’t hold it in either, I had to tell someone.”

“Congrats, Ki.” Justin walked over to me and hugged me tightly, “Welcome to the married life.”

“Thank you, Justin.” I pulled away from him, “Now, who’s ready to get this party going?”

Justin grabbed four beers from the box and handed us each one and he cracked his open and we followed his actions, “Happy birthday to one of the most coolest guys I’ve ever met.”

“Happy birthday!” we cheered our cans together and started chugging our beers together.
